Disney Pixar Monsters Inc. “Prequel” is “Monsters University”

The sequel to Monster’s Inc. will actually be a prequel … called “Monsters University.”

The sequel is slated to hit theaters in late 2012 with Billy Crystal and John Goodman back to voice Mike and Sully. Confirming the previous rumor about the film’s plot, Disney announced that the two monsters were not the best of friends when they both entered the university, and this will tell the story of how they became such good friends.

Pixar. Billy Crystal. John Goodman. Mike. Sulley. I think we’re good.

3D. Imax. See you summer of November 2012. Maybe it’ll play at the Drive-In in CARS Land? 🙂

There’s going to be a real drive-in at Carsland?!! I’d rent a car next time I’m west coast, just to go there! …well, to go there and to in-and-out burger! 8)

Manifold Jr. loved Monsters Inc., and I’m sure this prequel will be a big hit with us. A cool thing happened for Jr. with this movie; after watching it a few times, he decided that he was no longer scared of the closet door in his own bedroom. Mike & Sulley will soon join his beloved Yeti diecast, thanks to Chiesurin in the UK. Cheers, Chiesurin! Yeti often hangs out in Mater The Greater’s launching cannon. The cannon looks like a snow cave with just a little creative draping of toilet paper over the sides.

My son has never seen Monsters, Inc. He has the Yeti car, so I guess now he will want the Mike and Sully cars. He just saw Toy Story for the first time at Christmas. He hasn’t asked me for the Buzz, Woody, or Hamm cars though.

  • I’ve been wanting a sequel to Monsters Inc. for a decade. Can’t wait for next year!

I enjoyed the first Monster’s Inc and I’m sure that I’ll enjoy the sequel when it comes out on Blu-ray and DVD…
