But if your store is only getting the Shiny Wax hauler, I’ll trade you an Easy Idle hauler, or of course, some other non-existent hauler … but they are on sale.
In theory, these three cases are now listed as ‘shipping,” so anything is possible …
So, don’t forget to buy me a shelf warmer like Paul Valdez or Shiny Wax …

I was going trough my checklist yesterday and asked myself the same question about these haulers. I have seen Marilyn and Jonathan Workbench loose on ebay… Someone from england obviously has a good contact to the chinese factory…
I stopped by my local Target and found the Octane Gain Crew set. I also noticed that the 9 car set was priced at $39.99 again. Not sure what was up with that.
(MET: It’s that price except for Friday (Black Friday) – not sure if full day at $19.99 or just a doorbuster).
That’s interesting that whole shelves are full of the 9-pack. At the 2 Targets nearest me in Chicago each store has only 3 on the shelf, I guess with the rest in the back room (The scanner says “yes”).
Local Target has three 9-packs in the CARS section and around 40 on an end-cap on the opposite end of the aisle and 4 rows over for about a week now. I went in yesterday and they had put up the overhead shelf above the CARS/toy section. I guess they’ll be moving those from the end-cap.
According to Target website the 9-pack is not a doorbuster. This is a sale price for all day this friday only.
Stop by TRu tonight… no Christmas cars. Nope in X-mas decoration section or either cars section then stop by Target and found Octane Gain Crew set! My heart almost stop right there! Finally something NEW I am looking for… I can see they are ready for Black Friday… I count no less than 33 9-Pack who will be sold for $20 each. I will be there friday morning to get one and return the one I bought couple weeks ago at $40… So guess what? My Octane Gain Crew set will become FREE!!!
My TRU has hidden the second cube in a couple of strange places near the clearance area. It pays to look around.

I have been going by the TRU to see if any of the Christmas cars were put on the pegs waiting for them to be hung–price on that peg is $6.99. This peg is located where the wrapping paper is, inside the door. Yesterday, I went to see if the cars were there. Nothing–so I decided to go by the regular display of cars–didn’t look like there was anything new, but a triple look over, paid off. Up on the highest peg, low and behold, there were 3 of the Christmas cars–2 whee-hoo maters and 1 snowplow McQueen, had Mater in the 3 pack, I was after McQueen-he came home with me for $6.99 + tax. Happened by Walmart on the way home and found Chuy–another happy find. I was so happy–finally pay dirt. I found something NEW.
The hauler situation at TRU is HORRIBLE and has been for MONTHS AND MONTHS around my area. Even the new TRU/BRU that opened a few weeks back had the RPM/NO STALL ROR Case from ages ago!! If anyone got new hauler, I expected it to be them. One can always dream, right? 🙂
Aren’t you and PVHauler_16 the same person? If so, what’s up with the name changes? If not, you guys should hook up, because you’re, like, long lost twins or something.

Walmart haulers have been $10 at least 8 months here and the manager said it would remain that way through black Friday weekend. He also said there was a pallet of the black friday cars coming and hauler cases.
Yeah, the two local stores had four or five each for months. I’m an opener. I decided I wanted boxed Haulers and both stores sold out. It’s a conspiracy, man. LOL.
Hey Met. Do you think Walmart will re-release their Exclusive Hauler?
(Met: No, I think they are pretty done with that … though with CARS2, that might be another story but it would be a different hauler if there is a release).
They did last year and the year before that… hopefully this year but I don’t know. If so, I haven’t heard about it or want it. They will just cram our shelves because we had one from Black Friday all the way until about April!
TRU jacked the price of the ornament cars up to $7.99. They were $6.99 last week. They did the same thing last year but went from $5.99 to $6.99. Can’t believe they cost more to have in store within a week. What a rip!!
Moe, our TRU stores haven’t even gotten them into their distribution warehouse yet, but they still show them at $6.99 when checking their status in the system. We’ll see what the actual price is when they show up……$7.99 is pushing it.
If they are $7.99 now, they’ll be $8.99 next year, etc. If I ever see them, I’ll only be getting Fillmore, Luigi and Guido, and Sally. (really wished they still had Sally and Ramone, those were my favorites last year. Of course, never saw them. 🙁 ) I am just glad I found Santa Car, Whee-Hoo Winter Mater, and McQueenie 😛 at Toys ‘R’ Us.
TRU is way overpriced.
I picked up 2 of them last week and then went back today to see if I could get the other 2 and seen the price change. I couldn’t believe it but then I remembered last year they did the same thing. They had put out another case only 6 and got the others. I said something about it but they said they have no control over corporate. Oh well, collect them all!!
TRU did the same thing with the Series 2 minifigs. The minifigs were 1.99 the weekend they came out. I got them at TRU on Friday @ 1.99. By Tuesday when they were hot and everyone was looking for them, TRU jacked up the price to 2.99 each. Very oportunistic.
At this rate we will never see even close to a complete set of these. Once Cars 2 comes out, I don’t see any more of these being made. Same goes for the pit crew sets. This is one of the reasons I will not be collecting cars 2. We have all sunk way to much money into cars 1 and to not have a mostly complete set at this point of haulers and pit crew sets is very frustrating.
They must have found out that the Cars Toons are more profitable.
It’s been so long looking at nothing but Haulers shelf warmers….Gil, Gil, Gil…. I just keep getting further and further behind. 🙁
I saw that ad Sunday and like a silly optimist I went to TRU. Of course there were no Shiny Wax haulers, only a few old shelf warmers 🙁
I read that Apple recently purchased the trademark to the name “Shiny Wax”, so we will never see this hauler.

I’m just glad I have a couple of Shiny Wax’s. Never saw his Pitty, Nebekenezer Schmidt and his Crew Chief, Senior Trax. Did anyone else find them? He is listed as ‘Out of Stock’ here, http://www.toywiz.com/woctmshinwax.html
You can get him very for a reasonable price if you stay on top of eBay sales for a while (this is “fishing” instead of “hunting”?), if not from the (way more) awesome trading forum.
I don’t know about seeing Case N but I have Paul Valdez and he is available over here. There is no Shiny Wax Hauler though to my kowledge.
Haulers are $24.99 at Cdn TRU…. Went to a Grand Opening of a TRU on the weekend, and it had a HUGE Cars section…lots of Color Changers and blinky eyed cars…did find Tormentors Biggest Fan….LOVE the suction cup tow hook…GREAT CAR!!!!

Not so great a selection – mostly punching wrAstlers and colorchangers Whatever with that! And the price tag is atrocious!!!

It’s very lucky you guys have been finding those Cars. The only Tokyo Mater cars I have are Ito San, Yokoza, Kabuto, and Dragon McQueen w/ Oil Stains. Just found the Heavy Metal Mater Cars, and CHASE Van w/ Stickers, but never saw any of the Tokyo Maters. 🙁 I was really looking forward to those.
We can’t buy them if they sit in China… I have 1 Paul Valdez I got from a UK friend who told me yesterday that 1 UK seller has Shiny Wax Hauler in stock for 20 GBP ($32)… that’s too expensive for me.
I think Shiny Wax is 1 nice looking hauler… being green, I think someone would sell it during the Christmas season.
BMW told me that the shiny wax haulers are sitting in china and not being moved
Looks like they did move those pallets if they are being found in the UK.
I bet we see them here in a few weeks.
Case L and M were released a year ago in Dec 09.
The VT and SD case was released in April this year. Never found out the case letter on it.
There was another case released in April as well.

The case your referring to with the Jerry’s hauler and Chick Hicks etc. is everywhere here in B-More. The one where I think you refer to Vinyl Toupee as VT is no where to be found though.
I’d be on cloud 9 if I could find the case with Shiny Wax and Paul Valdez. If I do I will post up because now I have to look….. thanks MET… *sigh*
The repack case that was released last April with Sidewall Shine was indeed Case N.
Then the Vinyl Toupee case in April must have been case P.
The PV case in Canada/UK was presumably Q?
This new case with Shiny Wax Hauler must be case letter R?

If Paul Valdez is being found in the UK and Canada – what case was he in?

I don’t know what else was in the PV case in the UK as I’ve never gotten to a fresh case. Saying that I’ve seen many a PV about but no Shiny Wax (other than the one online for an extortionate price). I’ve never seen a No Stall Hauler in the UK either….
