Disney Pixar: Factoid of Day – Buzz Lightyear First Man on Moon*

* Research poll of 2,000 British school children.

One in five kids believe Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear was the first person to set foot on the moon rather than Neil Armstrong.

11 per cent thinking Isaac Newton discovered fire and Albert Einstein was Frankenstein’s brother.

Another 12 per cent of kids reckon the battle of Britain took place in space.

MAN, I HAVE TO START WATCHING BBC NEWS AGAIN … HOWEVER, THEY KNEW WHAT’S IMPORTANT …

A whopping 65 per cent knew Britney Spears shaved her head.

…and here I though Prime, Choice and Select were just marketing ploys. I’ll have to pay more attention.

(MET: Costco sells PRIME on the blue trays).

I think that perhaps these 2000 kids are smarter than we’re giving them credit for; whaddaya wanna bet that the “survey” was multiple choice, and the kids were just “winding up” the survey sponsors by picking the funniest answers?

the purpose of the “survey” was to promote a book; seems to me that the kids were smart enough to see right through it and have a laugh at the sponsors’ expense (or for their own amusement). that’s what I would have done at that age!

“One in five kids believe Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear was the first person to set foot on the moon” …

… I’ll bet in another 10 or so years it will be those same 1 in 5 kids who say man never landed on the moon.

Utility, Cutter, and Canner are sold to the public.

Usually as filler for hot dogs, McDonald’s hamburgers, Taco bell meat, or as the meat in TV dinners. Yum.

“”its a little known fact……………..” (Cliff Clavin rant)

  • John in Missouri says:

I thought Buzz Lightyear was the guy on Dancing With The Stars last season?

  • PirateDad says:

Didn’t Mator lead the British in the Battle of Britain in Space??

Isaac Newton did not discover fire though, he got hit in the head by a factory second APPLE iCar and discovered the Law of Relativity….Relative to the MOTS he could make a fortune selling this to Pit Stop Toy Shop!!!

  • Jeaks says:

What! you mean Buzz wasn’t the first man on the moon, well I’ll be damned.

Everybody knows that Albert Einstein is not Frankenstein’s brother, they are cousins.

  • Dunroamin says:
