If you view your order on your KMart.com account, there is an option to “Resend confirmation e-mail”. Has anyone tried that?
I tried that…didn’t work. Talked to Kmart.com customer service two times. Both said they would send me the confirmation…didn’t happen. I guess this is the SURPRISE they advertised for this case. Last time my order got dropped with no explanation from Kmart.
Still have not received a confirmation e-mail from my order on Sunday.

Well, I went ahead and cancelled/re-ordered. Ended up saving nearly $10
Thats exactly what I did. I saved almost $12.00 on two cases. Everyone should call and cancel yesterdays order and re order today. I really doubt they will discount on the actual event day unless you have a coupon.
Just to confirm – last year anyone who ordered online I believe actually recieved there case that day, right? If so I really hope they do that this year too.
I would recommend ordering a second case before you cancel the first, as there might be one case left when you do it.

If you cancel yesterday’s order, and then they sell out in the meantime, you can’t place a re-order. So I’m just suggesting a re-order first.
Actually thats what I did. I re-ordered online and then called to cancel my first case. And it worked. Did anyone get the email confirmation?

Has anyone have any problems getting the event cars through Kmart’s website? I know when I try to order cars on their website, they always cancel my order. What are the three pack everyone is talking about? What does it contain? Also, has any one in or near Colorado been able to find the heavy metal set? I went to one of the new Target’s here and found the shelf with it’s $29.99 for 9 pack sticker but no cars. I had an associate put in the dcpi number to see if any other stores had them and none of them did. Any lock out there? Sorry wrong set, this is the set with the camera men and same old racers, Mcqueen, King, etc.

Wasn’t there already a 10% savings yesterday? Is everyone saying there’s another 5-10% off today?
Wouldn’t it be great if:
• they would deduct another 5-10% off yesterday’s orders, and
• they could find out how exactly to send out confirmation emails for our orders? The only confirmation I’ve received is from eBillme.
Just too ridiculous. They give us a special order link yesterday but today everyone can order for less money than those that were given the “treat” of ordering 24 hours ago. Just so typical of Kmart.
Plus if you order a case it’s cheaper per car than attending the event.
Either Kmart is owned by such wealthy people it doesnt matter to them or they are just the worst run corporation of all. Maybe it’s both.
I am just buying a few of the exclusive cars with some coupons at the store and than thankfully I can be done with Kmart until the next Kmart Cars day.

Yep you are right. This should be interesting. Now to try and get an adjustment or cancel and re-order. I still have not gotten a confirmation from my first order. My fear is if I cancel one of my orders the other will get canceled.
Just an update. I did call, but as usual there are issues. Because we have a special link and I don’t think this is actually listed on the website to everyone yet they can’t find the item in the system. I was told that they have no way to verify the item or the cost adjustment. Also I was told that because my item was “processing” that they could not cancel the order either even though it was a pre-order. We will see, but maybe once the link goes live they can do adjustments. Good luck
WOW, why did they put up the pre-sale and then lower the price the next day. Why not say, either get it early and pay this price or wait until Monday and get it for less. This way we could decide if we want to wait for the sale or pay more to be sure to get the case. I do not like KMart and don’t shop there except for Cars Days. Their in store customer service is as bad as their online service. KMart never disappoints, they are always the worst and this little stunt confirms that again.
I’m usually pretty mild mannered but this kind of stuff really gets me…

I know from my time as a retail manager that most of the time promotional prices are set to activate at certain times/dates that are set up long in advance of the actual start date… This Columbus Day special price could have been entered in the system weeks or months ago…
My thought is that the early activation for Cars forum readers happened recently and whomever authorized it did not realize that there would be additional savings the very next day. Perhaps it is a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing… not a defense of the issue, just a possible explanation…
What my concern is remains in the price guarantee that Kmart/Sears has… They will adjust a purchase within 30 days if the price goes down, but for some reason their system does not create the correct credit to the new sale price if any coupons or other discounts have already been applied… I had this happen with a few Sears tool purchases and it took a few calls to get those corrected.
I had to cancel and reorder this product for Kmart Day 2 when there was a fatwallet percentage off that I forgot to do… thankfully the orders were canceled and the new orders arrived at the lower price… hope the same happens here too…
I would have cancelled and re-ordered again (I did that yesterday) but I used an eBillme $10 off coupon. If I re-order I will not get the additional $10. off because it is a one time coupon from eBillme.
I don’t know if I agree. I don’t shop there often but yesterday I was in thier store and they clearanced a ton of toys and then had 50% on top of the clearance price. I was able to pick up nearly all the kids Christmas presents for 70-80% off. For example GI Joe and Star Wars guys were $1.50. and $50 lego sets were $10. After the big haul I got I think I’m going to hit some other local Kmart stores and see if others are doing the same thing.
$77.92 including tax. Not a bad deal. That’s a little over $4 per car. If I also go to the event do you think I’ll be able to return the lenticulars from this case with the reciept from the instore event?
Possibly, but probably not… Kmart has adopted a refund policy similar to a lot of retailers… no receipt, no nothing… the statement I read at the service desk a few months ago stated that the receipt items must match the item being returned…
For the full case return, the invoice allows for a full case, not individual cars…
Now, if you can get the cashier to scan a lenticular for a racer, you’d probably have luck…
My younger nephew doesn’t mind the googly eyes… he’ll get these from my case…
Funny, I had a rep there tell me the opposite… Because it is still processing and not yet charged, they were able to try to alter the price (although they couldn’t get the price right…)

I opted to use a credit card and did not go through the ebillme site… maybe there is a different procedure when using ebillme instead of a credit card in the kmart system…

Yup! Saved an additional $8.17 per case with today’s percentage difference…
Had to cancel the existing orders though in order to get the savings… Kmart.com rep was nice enough, but when he was doing the math kept coming up with a much lower difference… I think when an order has a 5off50 coupon the system gets confusing… The system kept showing a base price that includes the percentage off for kmart.com boys toys AND the $5 coupon. Then it calculated the Columbus Day percentage and came up with a different credit than if I just reordered the cases today…
$8 is $8… I opted to cancel and reorder…

Well, no 3-pack in 3 Chicago KMarts thus far. But, a few Day 3 cars mysteriously appeared, and the entry-way event posters are up – yay!
Well for one: Lightning with rubber tires is not part of the Kmart 5 case so the 3 pack is the only way to get Lightning with rubber tires thus far.
Secondly- some may want the poster usually given out at the in store event so that’s one reason to go but I am sure others will want more of individual cars like a few more Tachomints as well.
Third- to order a case or two is a good insurance policy in case for some reason you can not attend the event in case of a last minute emergency or obligation. Not to mention if the store you are going to suddenly realizes they don’t have the cases, it’s happened.
Fourth- regarding the 3 pack after waiting 4 1/2 years for a Gaskits many will want him today and not want to wait any longer. Not to mention for those buying a three pack with the 5 dollars off coupon are getting it for 7.50. So for 2.50 a car including a car not included in the case, why not?
Lastly some are completists: which means they want every version of every release.
There are probably other reasons as well but I hope this helps you get what you were missing.
a quick question, if you bought a case then why go to the event for more? if reselling is your reason then why not order more cases instead? Also why would you want the 3 pack if 2 of the 3 cars is in the kmart case and the other is just mcqueen. Am i missing something?
Being there is half the fun, besides, I run the Utah Collectors group and I would go even if there was nothing in the case I wanted.

There are several different reasons why some purchase cases online and still attend the event. Some are concerned they will not be able to get everything at the event so they pre-order to be sure. Most on here know that I am a reseller but still attend the event, mainly so my son can experience the thrill of the event and pick out his cars and also to network with other collectors and promote my business. Hope that helps.

If this were an almost lenticular free case, I would have bought more cases… I help out others who have no access to stores, and pick up extras of the racers… I’ve met a few new friends at the events as well.
I enjoy buying online, but as others will attest to, there’s still something exciting about finding something new in a store.

I personally think that Dash with his camera is the suprise car. Although being forum members have known for weeks since this case was found in Australian, Dash isn’t such a surprise to us.
According to my Speedway 9-Pack, Dash is an “Exclusive”…so much for that.

Just kidding. I’m willing to bet that the R/T 3 pack was supposed to be the surprise for the event. While I do like it… it seems pretty difficult for Kmart to keep anything truly a secret, especially with the oddball international distribution of Mattel!
Maybe the surprise is that he’s called “Tow” again, instead of “Tow Truck Official Tom” or whatever the heck they came up with during the Race-O-Rama days.

The only way you can get an additional $10 off is by choosing the Ebillme option and placing the order, once it is placed you will be directed to the Ebillme site where there is a coupon box for them and that is where you type (10OFFKMART1009). You will then see the deduction on the total amt due.

It’s just sad that because of lenticulars, I’ll be leaving this particular Chase McQueen in the dust.
I love the tire-coverings and all, but I refuse to allow lenticulars into my display cases at work.
But with Tach and Gask, It will bring to a close a 4 1/2 year hunt for SOTS, rubber tires or not.

I printed the Order Summary with the Order Confirmation Number but have not yet received the email confirmation they said I would receive. Last time I pre-ordered cases they cancelled my order and Kmart.com could never explain why it happened. I hope they are not having those problems again.

I’m sticking with picking out my cars at the store. There were TONS of bad quality cars last time. I had to go through 2 cases to get good looking ones. Plus, that’s a lot of lenticulars. I’ll make a few waves through with the $5 off coupons.
I just went to two KMarts in my area this weekend and didn’t see any of the 3-packs. One store had quite a few Day 4 cars still. Another one had loads of Day 4 and still had some Day 3! I wonder if we’ll see fewer cases at the event. We had 20 cases at the Day 4 event. Maybe this is why cases were shipped to Austrailia? Less distributed in the US.
I got the email at 6 16 am and tried a few cases and it worked.. glad everyone is getting theirs with little trouble.
