Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Where’s the Waldo CARS?

Sometimes shopping at Kohl’s is like playing the find Waldo game …

How many CARS item can you spot?

Look carefully …

Maybe after inventory, they will get more toys and someone to straighten the shelf …

I was lucky enough to find a Chase McQueen with Rusteeeeeeeze can there this past weekend … and the Vinyl/Shifty Hauler case … but NO Megasized other than semi cabs. lol

I’ve seen the LMQ w/ Rust-eze Can too, but no sign of Vinyl Toupee Haulers. I have seen Buck Tooth Vendor at Kohl’s, but only once. I also found some Mood Springs and Fiber Fuel Launchers at Bergner’s. Why the H#@% would they be there?
Anyway, in the lookout for more Cars, I have seen some more Import Tuners Color Changers, and about 9 empty shelves that were supposed to be filled with the Wrestling Mater Punching Plastic Things that cost way too much. I have yet to see ONE case of Final Lap Cars, well, beside a stupid Lightning McQueen that was all bent up. 🙁 But I still think that it’s because I’m a Midwesty. I’m CONSTANTLY hearing people finding Cars in California and other non-Midwest States. 🙁

Very interesting; I visited my local Kohl’s on a whim last week, and the toy section looked nothing like that. Everything was well-organized, so unless there’s a T5AD-er who’s going through and tidying up the entire section, mine must be the exception to the rule.

Managed to find Kabuto, Yokoza, and Tokyo LMQw/oil stains, none of which have been seen in any Target, WalMart, Kmart or TRU I’ve been to in the past 6 months. They also had a few Mood Springs haulers and a truckload of Gils, though I’m not into haulers, along with a couple of Svens and Elvis RVs.

Just too funny Dudes!! I went to a bar a few minutes ago to see a girl dressed in a Waldo shirt!!!!

  • Mariela says:

The one that I went looks even worst! And the Bessies were gone of course!

  • L8rM8r says:

lol this post is too funny as I too have seen this scene at most of the Kohls that I have been to lately. I do try an tidy up the cars section and even went so far as taking a peg from another display to make sure they were spaced properly.

    • buckland-blowouts says:

FUNNY is that I try to do the same at the Walmart and TRU’s in my neighborhood, cause I want them to think that we collectors of CARS are of a more sophisticated lot…

    • buckland-blowouts says:

I am thinking that Kohl’s is like a winners store up here – they have the best brand names at ridiculously low prices but they stop shelving CARS because there is never any leftovers anymore…

  • Scully says:

Stopped at 3 Kohl’s over the weekend and they all looked like this. Was looking for Bessie but came up empty. I kept thinking I should look a little harder…like under the shelves.

    • John in Missouri says:

We do that all the time at the Wal-Mart’s that have blank space under the bottom shelf. We used to do it at TRU also, only it was above the top shelf in the cabinets that flipped open. They seem to have stopped using those now though, with the top shelf being completely removed.

      • Dunroamin says:

HA!..the TRU secret shelf…where employees hide stuff…all the TRUs near me have that flap twist-tied shut, especially in the Star wars, hot wheel and cars aisles…

      • Mariela says:

Ha..!! If you weren’t in MO I would say that you were the guy had been hiding stuff in CA! When we figured this guy out (because he was kinda weird and had the cart always full of new stuff, but never bought anything) so we played “detectives” and told the manager at WLMT & TRU..they started pulling out items that had been there for years, full of dust and spiders webs. Not so long ago when Target began the “remodeling” I couldn’t believe what I found on the pegs…Supercharged DJ, of course they didn’t care and hang him without cleaning it first… :mr green:

Whenever I go to the local Kohl’s store, I always straighten up and organize the Cars for them… This past weekend they got 8 old Cars Toon mega size… and the week before that, 12 haulers: 3 Vinyl Toupee, 5 Shifty Drug, and 4 Gray… they’ve had 1 lenticular McQueen for the longest time… I can’t find anyone in the store to talk to about inventory or ordering…

Every Kohl’s I’ve been too has completely disorganized and different inventory… The same inconsistent distribution found at Target, Kmart, Walmart, Toys R Us, etc… I miss the days when online resellers could order all the Cars products directly from Mattel.

  • kdthomas says:

I finally broke down and bought my VT hauler at Kohls for $17.99. Hated to do it but waited for 5 months. I figured I’d pay the same when you factor in shipping. Course, now next time I go to Target they’ll have 5 on the shelf (reason to keep receipts).

All Kohl’s seem to be this way. They are not in the toy business. If they wanted to move these items they wouldn’t mark them up 20-30% over normal MSRP. They also always seem to put the Toy section right by Customer Service which acts as a babysitting area to people waiting in line. I’ve noticed quite a few items underneath the shelfs as well.

  • Dunroamin says:

Yeah…it may be a mess, but when you score 2 bessies, shifty drug hauler and vinyl toupee hauler, all for buy one get one 1/2 off and a 15% off coupon, digging thru the mess doesn’t seem too bad!!
I walked out of there with all that plus 2 lenticular toy story 3 puzzles for under 40$

  • When I go to Kohls sometimes, I always find the cars I already have.

  • jambouk says:

YUP we have the equivalent shop in the UK its called RS mcolls. makes your shop that little bit more exciting not knowing whats underneath (or maybe thats just me)!

  • jambouk says:

Hey anyone know what the mailaway collectors car is in the UK at TRUS?

  • old hippie says:

4 CARS items in the expanded first pic plus 2 more in the books.

  • 5oclockshadow says:

I think this pretty much sums up every Kohl’s I have visited.

This is what happens when mama shops for clothes and leaves lil junior in the toys.
