We should probably look out for error cars. I mean, lenticular cars the least of our troubles, and lenticular CHASE cars are the WORST of our tro ubles.
This is a GREAT example of why I have lost the love for collecting….SIGH

I think thy look great, and kids love them too.
Purists might not like them but Mattel are not in business for them, there in business to sell toys for kids. They must be doing well overall or they would not continue with them.
Time to jump on board or stop collecting them. There is no point continuing to fill this blog with all this whining. Don’t like it don’t buy it!
“Van On The Run” …that’s what we call him in my household, since he’s managed to elude us for years now.
I always figured he had a warrant, probably for failure to appear in court on a DUI charge or some unpaid traffic tickets he got on that trip to Shakopee.
Now with the plastic surgery around the eyes I’m convince he’s got something to hide. He probably five finger discounted that GPS unit in Albuquerque.
At any rate, I see this new “Van” for what it truly is, a fraud!
I will not be led off course by this imposter! I will continue the hunt for the true Van. And though Mattel may have tried to help him escape by sending him on a slow boat to Italy, sooner or later we will get our Van!
Here’s hoping you find the rare variant where the bumper sticker was left off, thus giving you just plain ol’ Van. 🙂

I had moved on to only collecting the MTT cars. Now that Mattel has made the 4-packs exclusive to Target, that’s highly suspect as well. Way to ruin a very fun hobby Mattel.

All Chase cars are now Lenticular, from Bling Bling with Gold Rims forward. Van with Stickers is Lenticular.
It’s probably called “Van with Sticker” since Lizzie only slapped one on him.
Does he have lenticular eyes?

I leave the Chase car in Smyths but he is always there when I go back and I feel sorry for him but I still leave him. I have taken to putting him at the front of the display but he is still there! (I buy one for myself first) At ASDA they throw them all into a big wire basket with the hotwheels so you have to get down on your knees and rummage around. This is how I found Ramone! The joys of Cars collecting!

If you were to happen past the toy aisle you would just see my rear end sticking out of the Cars/Hotwheels basket as I strive to find that elusive Chase DJ! Not a pretty sight!

I’m getting tired of buying Cars that have one little change to it. Who cares if he has a sticker now. Why not release characters that haven’t made an appearance yet. I will say an exception is Wrecked Mood Springs and Mood Springs
And yeah, from the picture its hard to tell if its Lenticular or not. So is it?

Very nice. I am predicting that John from Mo. will be chasing these all around the Midwest. After leaving too many Vans behind last time, it’s not going to happen again. I suggest small children wear protective gear if they are anywhere in a store that gets this case in if John is at said store. You have been warned John will be on prowl. :). I will be trading or buying this for John’s collection because I have no shot of getting chase Cars around here. Every store around me has a few hot wheels collectors that are at the stores when they open and take any chase Cars. Get there at 8:15 and you will find 5 cases there with every car except the 1 chase car from each box. Thankfully take 5 has great members that can get them. Otherwise it would be Ebay or no way.

Actually, the only Van’s I ever left behind were at a KB Toys Outlet store, and there were 5 or 6 stapled shut, since the bubbles were separating the cards. I passed, but do I regret that now!
I feel your pain…John…but at least you saw them at the store..me never!! 🙁
And don’t get me started on how many Mater’s Rollin’ Bowlin’ games I left behind there too! 🙁

December of 2008 we here in Utah saw at a 2 Walmarts with 38 some cases of Case R and S and passed these up. Was about the same time as Sally with cone and Spinout Mcqueen.
Awesome…hopefully I can find him as he’s one of the few I don’t have yet. Just found Chase Ramone the other day. Still no sign of Chase King.

I saw this one in Montreal, canada this week but there was no sticker on the back altough it clearly stated chase and labeled as van with sticker
So what exactly is different to the normal release of Van ?
Is CHASE King RANSBURG should be lenticular? Because the one I bought yesterday IS… I bought it just because he looks great (except the eyes of course) and I don’t think I will ever see an other one…

Has Anyone else noticed the chase king not being chase king!! i live here in the UK and Chase king is just turning up etc with a case consisting of 3 Jay limo 4 Verns
2 Pit crew Sarge and the new white car i forget his name and the rest and various cars all ready releaased not too sure if they have on lenticular already!!! But… anyway
The chase King isnt Metalic!!! the packaging and numbering is all saying chase etc…… but its just normal King grrr….. has anyone else found this!!!!!!
