Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Kabuki Kabuto Boost Boasted

Kabuki Kabuto

Known As Boost Can Be Boasted

Early Peg Pluckers

I think that’s my haiku for the day – I’m too tired to recount if I am off.

Um, in other words, Boost in his new Japanese guise has arrived in other parts of the world …

He’s a mean one, Mr. Grinch …

He’s all full of nitro and well, you know.

He’s tuned for action.

Boost is often under-rated and overlooked … Mr. Kabuto probably won’t have that problem.

Sudden acceleration and no brakes? Not a problem here.

Slightly more details than your average …

And all the Boost Boys are slight variants so er, boost your collection – though pay at the register …

Thanks for the nice & early pics, “Brian.R,” “Samuel R.,” “The Over-the-Wall Gang.”

I will like to know what Cars are on the back of this cards??!!

  • David says:

Hey guys , where can i buy cases of these toys if i want to sell them on eBay?

(MET: Check out our advertisers 🙂 Click on banner ads – good luck!)

  • SweetBug says:

Met, I liked your haiku, all these other jokers don’t appreciate the time it took, but I do, those buggers are hard to “create.” I’m in SoCal, and I haven’t seen any of the Tokyo Mater cars. I’m bummed!

  • MarkyB says:

I just got these 2 today along with lug and nutty, they were on the pegs in tesco along with the elvis rv and all the new megasized cars. Just starting to get new stock in the uk

  • CaptainChunk says:

Mater’s Tall Tales is the only line my local WM keeps current. Hopefully that means I’ll find this in the next week or so too.

  • mattmartin says:

I have posted on the trader forum, but thought it good to post here. I have many Ito San’s and Kabuto’s here in the UK if anybody wants to trade. We also have Yokoza and Dragon Mcqueen. Also the new range of 1:43 scale larger items with trading cards. Namely, Tokyo mater and Dragon Mcqueen twin pack, Mater the greater and Mcqueen twin pack, El Materdor twin pack and finally Rescue Squad mater with burnt Mcqueen. I see they are out in the US in different packaging, but no trading cards.

Hi. Tescos are now doing cars toons – but not megasize – and so today have bought Yokoza, Dragon Mcqueen with oil stains, Ito San and Kabuto…the annoying thing is I have not even got Mater the Greater stuff, anyone seen the box sets in the UK yet? They had 4 Mood Springs Haulers too but as I have no chance of getting the racer etc I did not bother with that; some things I just ain’t buying for the sake of it!

      • mattmartin says:

Hey Hearseman UK. Do you mean the Mater the Greater twin pack in 1:43 scale with Mater in the stars and stripes with a crash helmet and Mcqueen also in stars and stripes, with the rockets on his back with the Mater teeth they stuck in him? If so,I have a spare.

        • Hearseman UK says:

          Hi Mattmartin
No the smaller 1:55 ones; they come in a ‘4 pack’ boxset..not seen any anywhere, not even on UK Ebay but thanks for asking though. Only one I’ve seen is in Hong Kong.
Its a crazy set up over here really, but it sounds like we are better off than other countries, even the U.S & Canada.

      • Jonny2Scarves says:

In my Tesco they cannot shift the haulers at all. They have loads! They have knocked the price down to £6.50 to try and move them on. They have Mood Springs, Gil, Mack, King, Trunk Fresh, Leakless but no sign of the RPM or No Stall haulers. Plus so many Flik and Fleas have been sitting on the shelves for months, nobody wants them!

I managed to find Ito San and Kabuto today in Toys R Us. I was so surprised to find them as I thought they were only just out in the USA, let alone in the UK.

  • Monica says:

I am enjoying the Tokyo Mater line (though I have yet to see one in person)

Kabuto looks great, it’ll be fun to have him and the “STOCK!” version together. Ito San looks cute too, I love his little catfish whiskers.

  • I-am-speed says:

Found a single Yakoza hidden at the back of a peg at WM today.

  • carscrazydd says:

He is real cool looking, can’t wait to get him!

Kabuto is already on my list of new Cars to purchase, Final Lap Case D (3 new), WOC & Toon mega-size singles (7 new), Toon 4 packs (2 new), Haulers (2 new), Toon singles (8 new). All are available on eBay and various websites only around here. Price to bring Kabuto and the rest of the gang home from the local stores when the flood gates of Spring open and the stores start ordering, appx. $182.00 inc. tax.

I just wish they would get here!!!

  • LEADMAN STI says:

i have 2x kabuto and 2x dragon mcqueen for trade.

  • Kevin W says:

I found Yokoza and Soaked McQueen at Walmart this week. However, I could not get $4.99 worth of excitement out of Soaked McQueen so I passed on him. However, it is has been a long time since I have gotten so excited about a car like Yokoza. He is SO fine. Yokoza looks kind of lonely so I definitely need to get Kabuto and the rest of the gang.

  • Mike H says:

I’d like to collect the Tokyo Mater line (my obsession with Japanese and Asian things)…if they would release them in Chicago!

People were reporting finding Tokyo Mater vehicles like Dragon McQueen and Yokoza at KMart. Went to my nearest ones, and they looked the same as a month ago.

I want to be patient, but finding these takes me back a year ago to when in December of 2008, people were finding the ROR launchers, and none showed up here. I didn’t see those until 6 months later…which is what I’m guessing is going to be the case with the Tokyo Mater Cars Toons.

  • mustangmaniac88 says:

I hope to find these soon.

  • yiotis says:

check your kmarts… i know.. kmart sucks…but i have found several yokozas and dragon mcqueen at crappy kmart

    • John in Missouri says:

I think I’ll write Kmart a Thank You letter for posting $2.99 sale prices on empty Cars Toons pegs (if you don’t count 1 Burnt McQueen and 1 Orderly Pittys). Really warms my heart.

      • Daniel says:

Did you ask for a rain check?

I’ve gotten into the habit of “collecting” rain checks as sales in Canada are to get rid of old stock (i.e. 250 MQs on the pegs). This way, I get new Cars at sale prices, assuming they arrive in the 30-90 days a rain check is good for.

  • I can’t find Dragon McQueen and Yokoza anywhere! Ito San looks awesome! Kabuto looks sick!

  • applefinatic says:

UGH!! I just found Yokoza last night and now these are out!! Give us a little break Mattel!

  • Nord0623 says:

Kabuto looks great. The tokyo mater cars are the last my son and I will be collecting. Do to Mattel not releasing any new cars in this area (except for cr@p color changers) my son doesn’t even get excited for daredevil mcqueen when he sees it. At least he still seems interested in the tokyo cars for now but that might change.

    • Luciano says:

Yea, I think me and my son are done after the Tokyo Mater cars are out. He seems to be not interested as much as he used to be. Me and him have made the jump to collecting Hot Wheels now. He seems to be really interested in collecting instead of playing with now.

I did recieve Yokozu and Dragon McQueen from a fellow Take5’er today. They are awsome cars. Can’t wait to buy these either.

  • jestrjef says:

I wish I could find Dragon McQueen and Yokosa in my area …. but cannot wait to find these either!!!! Awesome!!!!! 🙂

    • babychristianscars says:

      Jeff

If you need those 2 let me know I can get them at beall’s for 6.99 each yep pricey but I didn’t care.

    • babychristianscars says:

Going to try to find these this week at Beall’s since NO one in my town checks there for the cars they get awesome ones like dragon and yokoza so far.

And only 6.99 walmart here is 5.49-5.99 for toon singles.

  • lou says:

    what case are these in?

  • bentaxle says:

Mattel is boosting many Yen from my walllet these days.
