As happy as I am to get the Toons items that we’ve already found and those on the way, I am suspicious(meaning pretty sure) that Mattel and Disney are using those items as filler to S-T-R-E-T-C-H out the S-L-O-W-E-R releases of the CARS MOVIE items and bring the last CARS releases out even closer to CARS 2.
I think that is absolutely correct, but I’m also not ungrateful either as we want the diecasts from the original Cars and the Cars Toons. It’s obviously a balancing act to keep collectors and fans of the line hooked yet still satisfied – I’m sure Mattel/Disney Pixar didn’t know in 2006 how strong the diecast line would be for sure but at the same time we’re waiting for the real Bessie, Jay Limo, etc 3-4 years after the movie was released. Kinda silly at times.
As I said, my kids (and I of course) love the Cars Toons but it still amazes me that they can produce a 3-5 minute hilarious little “toons” and then market it for 20-30 different toys each! I’m looking forward to the next 3 toons but kinda dreading it in a very small way too 🙂

I’ll spend 4 months of my life looking for it to no avail, then the Disney Store will offer a much better version.

Yes, High Dive Mater is awesome… but there are already ambulances stuck on the pegs in eastern Indiana, where we get items after the larger towns.
And if I may state one pet peeve about the Cars Toon Mater items… the only Mega Size component is the packaging… which if you open, you throw away… From a size standpoint, these should be singles, but Mattel knows we’ll pay… and as long as we do pay, they’ll charge what they can.
Getting awfully expensive to collect them all…

I love High Dive Mater but this line will quickly start getting “peg constipation” if they don’t mix it up just a little and include a little more variety in the new cases. Ambulance is great but soon there will be plenty hanging around!
