Certainly, these probably won’t be easy to find immediately but supply should be okay since the carton of Sarge’s Bootcamp Box only contains Sarge’s Boot Camp box set (4 in each case). Unlike other cases where TRU (or another retailer) might wind up with another box set less desireable (hey, look, it’s the 5 Tumbleweed McQueen All-Expressions Box set!), this box only contains Sarge’s Boot Camp so there will be re-orders and available online pretty soon.
Plus at $29 + tax, there’s not a lot of upside for profit taking as people will just wait to find it … not saying there won’t be some hoarding but won’t be as bad so …
Looks like Texas & CA so far … both places with a Mattel warehouse …

I’m probably shooting myself in the foot by telling you all about this, since I probably want to sell my extra to one of you… but RIGHT NOW, on the TRU website, you can simply just order Sarge’s Boot Camp. No lie.

How come they give these cars a name but no more names for the Pitties and Chiefs, hmmmmmmmmm? Esepcially in cases where a name exists already?

I’m tempted to stop by TRU on my way home from sushi tonight…but I’m sure I’ll find zilch. TRU has only provided me with 1 good purchase in the lasst 4 months: found a Chase Salutin’ Sarge there a couple months ago.
Though I can’t help but think the $30 price tag may deter this set from flying off the shelves. I see a number of those TRU-exclusive sets with repeats a-plenty, still sitting on the shelves.
Though I can’t help but wonder about customizers getting these sets and paining up the additional SUV’s.
Bad news on my end of the “SBC” search at TRU. System shows ZERO in warehouse, none at ANY stores in MI/OH. Shows thousands “on order” from Mattel, but none available in the 2-state area.

Oh, I know, it’d just be nice to find something in the early days of release, instead of on the tail end. We need to move to California, I guess! Texas has become a hot spot with this set as well!
Certainly would make getting trading fodder easier.
Whenever I find something trade-worthy, it’s already old news and people want the new stuff.

if that launcher comes out.

I left work drove 20 miles to the TRU in the Galleria area of Houston. I called this afternoon and the man who checked said he had four and would hold 2 for me. Went directly to this older TRU which is in a high traffic area very urban. Ran inside to the customer service desk, and told the lady what I had come for. She looked around and finally told me nothing was there on hold. What? So I went back to the very crowded and narrow isles that said Trucks and Cars. It was so packed with toys it took a minute to locate the Cars section. Nothing! The shelves were full of playsets, huge Sheriffs, Playmats, etc. Darn, I was about to give up then I glanced down at the floor at the end of the isle and sitting on the floor was two Sarge’s Boot Camps. The guy I spoke with must have taken them off the shelves, got called away and left them on the floor? Went back to customer service and now another clerk was there, told her what I found, then she apologized and told me that a tall guy in a pony tail had been there a few minutes before and got the two at the service desk. Her words were: “These sure are popular,” I said they were new. She said that they had gotten several cases in last Saturday.
The box is spectacular, the background canyons, Sarges elevated rock ledge, the desert ground under the ice cream sherbert colored SUVs. The whole presentation is perfect. Who ever designed the box is masterful, and captured the whole movie scene.
That sounds great. Now tear up the box, get some dirt in their rims, and roll them down a hill… and don’t forget to put the video on YouTube!
Hahahaha! Or stick them in a GIANT Bottle on top of Gask-its and Blu Ray McQueen, 😀

Ya know, I’m not sure if any of you guys live in the Chicago area,
but it pretty much sucks here.
The stores I go to never have anything.
Kmart, TRU, Walmart. They have nothing!
No Mater Tales stuff, not even a space for it! or there is but
everthing is gone!
Not sure how the Toy world goes, but when I was a Dept Head of a Home Depot years ago, if I wanted something in my store, all I had to do was
ask for more. I did the ordering and it came.
Seems that Mattel decides this and at store level I guess they have no control.
How in the world are they going to sell to customers when they send
one box of Mater Tales and not get any more. It’s been like a month and a half and I check these stores pretty much everyday and know when there trucks come in. NOTHING!

I wish the goofy and cheap looking “Only at Toys R Us” badge wasn’t on there. It is a bit distracting from the awesome box set. I will have to call TRU tomorrow and force my sister in law to drive down there and buy the damn thing if they have it! This is a must have!! or is that a NEEEEED have… LOL

Just got one for my nephew and myself in los angeles, ca. For anyone looking for them in the L.A. area. there are 6 boxes still left at the TRU in west los angeles on La Cienega blvd. off the 10fwy. Hopefully anyone near them can grab them. Good luck guys.

Just got mine at the Mesa, AZ TRU. The whole case was there I guess since there were four on the shelf.
Do check the paint quality, as one of the four had some issues around T.J.’s grille.
I took one with good paint and a smashed up box because we open everything at my house.
3 left on the shelf as of an hour ago!

Why would TJ be bigger than Sven? That makes no sense.
Is Sarge here any different than regular Sarge?
TJ is a H2 right and Sven is an H1. I think the H2 is taller than the H1…
Both models are H1.
Awww darn… well then maybe TJ is bigger because he has HUGE wheels on? I don’t know.
I haven’t seen too many H1’s that look anything like TJ, but the Blu Ray finder does say he is an H1. But then again, I haven’t ever seen a Civilian H1, only military or once was military H1’s.

(MET: The Civilian H1’s were the same width and height – minus the gun mount … there was a “pickup” up version but its height is the same … of course, we are talking about CARS cyborgs so … 🙂 ).

As Ka-Chow stated in the Shopping Report section(after having to sort through flawed-paint sets), CHECK THE PAINT on these before buying, as we’re forking over $30.00….better be perfect, or close to it.

That’s the easiest way to have your local store check their system for availability, instead of the UPC.
I know…it may be the same as the UPC…but not always. Either way, a number would be great to have to show at TRU.

TRU will hold it for me tomorrow if they get it. Truck comes on Thursday. I will call them at 10 tomorrow and they will hold it until store closing time.
