Well, Walmart talks big about what’s coming but will they deliver to YOUR STORE?
Apparently, later this week, WM will get some Mater Tall Tales – megasize CARS … again, unlike the days of yore (11 months ago) when virtually all WM’s would get a base amount of CARS (or other toys merchandise) so you could at least count on seeing the minimal … now?
Some A stores will get the full allotment of 2 cases, B stores will get a case and others? Maybe nada. The WM “UPC” for the MTT megasize is # 70028959 so let us know what your WMer tells you.
In about a month – early October – there will be a diecast reset with new Hot Wheels and CARS including the Mater Tall Tales singles (slowest rollout ever?) on the list …
… Also on the list? More megasize … presumably-maybe CASE B?
WM “UPC” for MTT Singles – #70028931. There is also a new track with Mack – the price does not match up with anything else so it might be a Tyco (also Mattel) RC CAR?

There is a pallet listed for late October-early November …
Will it ACTUALLY show up in more than a handful of stores and not just in the gardening section under a tarp …
The pallet will hold 280 CARS … of course, your store might get anywhere from ZERO to 280 … round and round the mystery wheel goes round and round, place your bets, place your bets, where it lands no one knows.

TIZMANIAN UPDATE:
I visited my local WalMart over the weekend and there had just completed a massive reset to the entire store. The aisles were remarkably clear of clutter (a welcome change but probably a short lived one) and the toy section increased in size and changed its location. I tried to find the reset sheet (the one for action figures was still taped up to its section) but alas the one for Cars was missing (a T5er nab it?).
The bad news is that the Cars section overall was quite small and the aisle hanger identifying was not up. I shot a snap on my cell phone but the resolution may be rather inferior:
In between the second Hot Wheels sign and the Matchbox sign is where our beloved Cars now reside. So where is the aisle hanger to let someone know where they are located? Whatzupwiththat?! Still, it may be early as the reset wasn’t quite complete. I will give it a week and check back with you guys. Anyone else have Walmart that just reset? Sound off in the comments and let us all know…

My Wally has cut down the pegs .Only 3 rows for singles and 1 row for Mega size by the way were are all the Franks ? I only seen 4 out of all the walmarts that I go to.Have seen Cartoon cars at TRU but only 6 and yea I bought them all sorry got greedy.But one good thing isthe nice big end caps at all the wally worlds in my area got lots of goodies out of that load.Now what about Kmart Day 3 anyone got news on this ? First you herd maybe? The cars are out there in Hong Kong
The nearest WM to us (a 30 minute drive) completed their reset but, no change in the toy aisles –
they were empty BEFORE the reset and are STILL EMPTY after the reset.
This store also NEVER gets the displays either.
We got a couple of Toon sets of 4 cars at our local Fred Meyer. One is called Rescue Squad Mater with fire truck, chopper and Dalmation Tia and Mia. The other is Rescue Squad Mater with Burnt Lightning McQueen, Dr. Mater and Nurses Tia & Mia. They wre $16.99 each set. Pretty darn cute.
Our WalMart is resetting now. they may also expand now that the city fathers have decided they are not a threat to our way of lives. We have a brand new supercenter opening on 9/16. It is 20 miles away.

One of our walmart has the split section too. Singles, megasize and haulers on one side of the isle and mini adventures and launchers on the other side. They also had an endcap with singles and some playsets on the shelves at the far end of that isle. makes no sense.
Last Thursday I saw a single RSM helicopter at a WM in the Antelope Valley (50 miles north of Los Angeles). I was not too excited since many of the TRUs in the LA area had received one or two cases of the Mater Tall Tales megasized already.
After avoiding Lakewood (WA) Wal-Mart I stopped in on the way home from another stop. Lucky enough to encounter two unmolested cases of lenticulars and scored two Chick Hicks Piston Cups. Still looking for Marvel Universe Grey Hulk. That line is more illusive than Cars! 🙁

Grey Hulks were available on Hasbrotoyshop for 2 solid weeks. they sold out 3 days ago. Maybe they will have some more pop up in the future.

I know. I check it twice a day. I buy for my collector son. When I first asked him whether he was going to collect that particular line, he said know. So, what happened? I saw both the grey and red on the peg at a Wal-Mart. I didn’t buy. Then, son changes his mind. Plenty of red Hulks around, but, that lousey grey is nowhere to be found. Since he’s at work before the stores open, and, I’m retired-well you get the picture. Now I’m waiting for Wave 5 to hit the pegs. As a side bar, he gives his daughter/my granddaughter Marvel Universe action figures. She is extremely knowledgeable about the characters. Anyway, when she hauls them to school, she is always surrounded by young boys, who love her action figures. Go figure, a backpack full of Marvel action figures, Little Pet Shop, and Barbie dolls? She likes Indiana Jones Legos, too!

The recent end cap PDQs have all of our WMs jam packed with peg warmers. Goofy Eyed McQueens have taken over. 😯
This reminds of the good old days of Fall 2008 where I wasted my life away sneaking around WM garden centers trying to find some big box saying Cars on it. I did that for about 2 months before finally giving up, only to go into a Walmart in mid-December and see the Cars pallet gloating at me in the middle of the aisle.
My WM had tons of boxes in the garden center too. But there was no way I could get in to get a closer look. They had it roped off and the doors were jammed shut. Never did see the pallet at that store.
An October/November Pallet PDQ….280 Cars….Probably 200 Lightning McQueens. 🙁
Ok I know that I am about to talk about the wrong store but an ebayer guy just called me and asked if i wanted to pay his crazy prices for the toon single packs. ex. nurse kori, pittys burnt mcqueen and nurse Gto. He said went to Toys r us this morning and bought all the new cars toons stuff there even the 4 packs. So it looks like Toys r us beat walmart to the Punch again.
Sure, we have a WM that reset. But that reset took place in December of 2007, I think.

Yes…finally I got something at Walmart! There were 2 of each Cars Toon Mega Size…I grabbed 6, so 3 for me and 3 for you..who wants some?
Where are you located? I am in central Florida and was guaging how long before stuff gets down to us? I have watched ebayers over the years and can see stuff come across the country as they list it…California then Texas then Ohio and finally the deep south!

Not sure, Driveshaft. I do know there is a HUGE WalMart distribution center in SC as I pass it all the time to visit my mother and sister there. All the trucks have their back doors open, “Look, no merchandise hidden here. Move along. Move along.”
Yeah there is a Ditrobution Center about 4 miles from my house and it seems like a DC worker shows up at the local WM only when a case of Hot Wheels comes in? I guess he looks at the dist. list…sorry dog! Wish I could get my hands on the list!
I wonder if all the distributions are this messed up…not just toys, but does someone sit there at WM and think….hmmmm Where is all the Ladies Speed Stick?? They have tons of Eau du Squirrel, but the Powder Fesh never seems to get restocked?!?!!

our walmart reset 3 weeks ago with wrong tag on haulers for $5 each I got trunk fresh.
This week, tags are changed the $1 oversized now says 6.94 mega, the haulers are now 13.94 neither in stock.
New old style launchers out shifty drug, vitoline and trunk fresh along with 3 old package leakless 9.94.
New lightyear launchers with bumpersave and the other 2 on shelf 9.94 only the 3 of them there, its all thats been there.
8 pegs of lenticulars all case A almost all lightning.
4 pegs of really really old minis like from when they first came out.
4 new pegs with price sticker for the cars guide book.
rc car mcqueen has come back for 21.97.
Mini adventure mack & lighting road set 22.94.
Tractor tippin set is back for 22.97.
2-3 missing holes with price stickers that have nothing on them.
Yeah… these smaller sections for Cars are probably for those Walmarts where the product comes off the truck and into the waiting shopping cart of the collector/reseller that has the management in their pocket…
This way when a higher up comes a callin… the section looks fullish with the crap no one wants and when we make comments to customer service or higher ups they don’t think there is anything wrong as the aisle looks “fullish”

I have two hours to waste in between appointments today. That will give me time to scope out one Wal-Mart, one Toy R Us and one Target, and time to grab a slice of combination pizza at Costco. Any bets the anything I will find is pizza?
The two hours between appointments yield nothing at Target. TRU yield one Saluting Sarge. Wal-Mart near South Hill Mall yield a Chick Hicks Piston Cup and multiples of #111, Flo.
My WM finally did a reset, the cars section a little smaller and I did see one Lightyear Launcher (I did see that listed on the reset sheet days earlier), the other stuff was still old.
Our WM put out the RSM Megasized stuff last week, thankfully they don’t seem to be trimming down their Cars section like so many other stores.
My WM reset last week. They have chips and soda in the middle of the toy aisles. Toys on both ends and coke and funyuns in the middle. The cars area is small. Two rows for my eyes change(packed full of Lightning McQueens), two for mega(two cars hanging on 8 pegs), and two for mini’s(3 packs hanging from 8 pegs). They did get a endcap side hangin’ thing. It has a Chase Dinico McQueen and a Chase Chick in it. It also had Flo and Nitroaide. After that sells down and they cram all the leftover McQueens from the display into the regular pegs I don’t think they will put out anything else for some time.
Yeah what’s up with the chips and soda??? Our new SuperCenter did that, and I saw another Wal-Mart like that this weekend.
Our older SuperCenter recently did a reset, and the Cars section is tiny.
Nice, way to encourage healthy eating habits in kids WM! You couldn’t just do Goldfish and juiceboxes?
The chips and pop are frito lay products/pepsi and are set right next to the Hasbro games.
Its part of the family game night promotions.

One of the reset documents I saw had a paragraph about the manager to make sure to contact their DSD (direct store delivery in retail speak) reps for soda/pop and salted snacks (FritoLay is a major DSD supplier) partners for the co-promotion. That was on the action figure reset form so expect to see that through out the section I should think.
our walmart reset their car aisle like that as well about 2 weeks ago, the Cars section was about 3 cars wide and that was IT! and it had nothing new, same old cars that are always there
My local WM also completed a reset recently. The Cars section is smaller and overlaps an aisle – one column of pegs on one side of a walkthru and 10+ columns of pegs (plus some shelves) on the other side. Odd.
But they finally restocked! We only look for Cars in the wild so I was excited to find a Chick with Piston Cup and the 3 pack with LMQ and the Dinoco Showgirls yesterday! (Now you all will tell me you found them weeks ago…)
I picked up a full MTT MS Case A last Thursday (8/27) at WM and they have not yet completed the reset.
Oh, by the way – $9 each if anyone wants them. Includes 2 each of RS Mater, Chopper, and Ambulance.
Question – are these cases labeled like the other megasize (aka Hot Wheels, 6 per case) or are they identified as Cars on the outside?
The case I got reads CARS TOON MEGA SIZE VEHICLE ASST on it and has the case code P6747-999A
I am guessing that my WMs will not get the pallet drop as I have yet to see one from the last few. My mother-in-law works for WM and in addition to the reset they are obviously redesigning lots of the older WMs. I know that 3 in my area have gotten a much needed face lift and look amazing. I am also happy to report that two of the 3 got a bigger section for cars, while the 3rd stayed the same. Still no sign of the Cars Toon line in WM, but did have a sighting at TRU last week.
