MET, is there any more info on the US version of the TRU promo car offer? Wasn’t there a September time frame for that, supposedly for Tach-O-Mint?
(MET: last word was start date – 10/1 … by September 20ish, there stores that just the gun on the promo info distribution).

Finally got it working a few minutes ago!!! 😀
I don’t expect that to happen anytime soon at our closest Walmart – get this (I realize this should probably go in the area shopping forum so please don’t anyone get too upset with me for posting in the wrong forum) but this particular Walmart is overflowing with lenticular Mcqueens and I saw in the garden center (aka Walmart toy holding area) 12 MORE CASES of lenticular case B! So I expect new stock to arrive anytime after 2011 at this rate 🙂
OUCH! Maybe it will RAIN or SNOW on them .. . . they will become damaged goods . . . and sent back?!?!? 🙂 Wishful thinking, eh?
well didn’t have has much luck as Lenin but i did come across the cars Toons at TRU in Pittsburgh and (not bragging i swear) man are they nice, this Ambulance has some girth to it.
They are nice and my son loves all the Cars Toon stuff so far but I think he’s still frustrated that he can’t open the back doors to the ambulance to put Burnt Mcqueen inside 🙂

One time when I was at Kohls, I remember seeing Radiator Springs Lightning Mcqueen and Dinoco Chick Hicks Movie Stunts.
The wife and I were in nyc back in april no good cars in the giant tru in time square. not a single car at FAO Schwartz. That is so my luck.

I grew up in NYC. Whenever I go back, it is a trip to FAO. When it was a one of a kind store, it was great. It carried high end European toys, etc. None of the current Mattel and Hasbro products. It is still a great place to visit. And, more importantly, just around the corner from the main entrance is (was) a great NY deli. No tables, just a grab and run deli, typical of the NYC pace of life.
Of course, while the guys stock up on Cars, the women folk can go down the street to Tiffany. 🙂
Who would spend more the gals at Tiffany’s or the guys at FAO?
I think I may throw up….please, PLEASE tell me you bought all the chase cars so you could trade em with your friendly neighborhood TFAD-ers 🙂

I do have to say that I did leave 1 Sarge, 3 Ferrari, 2 Snot Rods and the Rev N Go on the shelf. I was feeling guilty thinking about buying them all. I hope the kids get them and not the ebayers.

I think it’s a waste SQUIRREL of cardboard and a sad way to offload the overproduction SQUIRREL of Ferraris.

I went to a few targets, kmart and toys r us yesterday in the los angeles areas and didnt even traces of any of these cars. wow how discouraging.

Same – I did a circuit of four Wal Marts, two TRUs, and four Targets here in So Cal (East Valley & Burbank, and Santa Clarita) – I felt like Yukon Cornelius when I’d get to the toy aisle…

I hope I am wrong, but I don’t think there will be any announcement of what the UK promo will be until the first car arrives on someones doorstep.
I phoned Mattel today to clarify the under 16 over 16 thing and the person I spoke to didn’t even know about the promo! She did go an find out and phone me back later and they have admitted their T+C’s were a bit confusing and they will be updating them. It is open to all residents of the UK and Ireland (not to under 16’s) and if you are under 16 years old you need to get an over 16 to send in the receipt on your behalf.
I hope they plan on stocking a few more cars before Saturday.
