PirateDad Turns 40: Makes National Holiday of It – Meets & Greets All Canadians
PirateDad also believes in the adage that one should go big or not at all … so for his birthday he meets and greets a multitude of TakeFive Canadians or maybe just all Canadians in a national greet and meet …
So, I can now take a breather from typing – take it away PirateDad!
Since I could knot make it to SDCC I have been doing my best to make up for it and meeting LOTS of Take5ers lately!
First was Bucklands Blowout and his family, Phillippe was SUCH an nice guy, I don’t think he said DUDE once until we were leaving and he called me PirateDude… We met at TRU in London to do a little hunting together…came up EMPTY of course! Our little guys got along GREAT and our wives just rolled their eyes when we talked cars!!
(I see a megasize blimp on the shelf and you claim Mattel ships no CARS to Canada …)
Then, on my way to my Trade Show, to try and make more money to buy more cars, I stopped in to meet Heinz57baby, Tanya and her adorable son, Teree! What a joy that was…they are the nicest people, Teree was a little shy at first, after all it is knot everyday a Pirate comes to visit, but he warmed up when we started talking cars! It was the sweetest thing, he made me a thank you card for the little gift we had given him from the Fiddleheads Contest…Cars themed of course….I was deeply touched!!

Last but knot least was an experience I will NEVER forget…meeting Edge, aka Sander!
Edge invited me to meet him in Toronto, for a Nickelback concert on Aug 9th….TORONTO is about 2 hours from me and 6 hours from him (unless his wife is driving then only about 4 1/2 hours away) I happened to be in TORONTO for my Trade Show, so I was THRILLED to meet him!
I got him passes for my Trade Show, so he got to come and check out my stuff and see what I do first, then we met up down at Ontario Place for the concert! We had so much FUN!! I am attaching a pic of our Canadian Exclusive Lenticulars…PirateDad and Edge Versions!!
How was concert you might be wondering…well us too…stupid Mother Nature had other ideas for us…check out the pics to see what we endured!
We waited 3 hours in torrential rain before they finally cancelled the show…BUT we still had a great time together, and the rescheduled date is just another excuse for us to get together!!
Yikes!
You know it’s bad when LIVE NATION actually calls it a night 🙂
Edge gave me the Dinoco Showgirls for my birthday, what a GREAT guy he is…speaking of my birthday…check out the cake PirateWife made for me!!

Show is actually doing pretty good…surpassed my expectations (which were admittedly low) and the 3rd day was the best of the bunch…if tomorrow does anything, this will be an average show, which in this below average economy, makes me one blessed Pirate!!
