Just to be clear – lenticulars are the new mainline so available everywhere now – especially now that TRU has gotten their shipment. So, yes, WM, TRU and all online sellers.

ONLY TARGET will not carry them. TARGET get the ‘classics’ line EXCLUSIVELY – which won’t be here for another 6 weeks or more …

I can’t wait for the Target Classic Exclusives! Will there be new packaging? Will there be new releases? When can we have details?

(MET: Search for the FINAL LAP post).

  • RPM64 says:

Why is there 5 Mcqueens in a case? Put new different cars in the case and Mattel will make more money.

  • Uncle Skippy says:

Nice font on the Case Assortment Listing….

    googlie eyed indeed…

  • DANG there goes my walmarts 15 more mcqueens to warm the pegs!

  • Chase Dinoco McQueen is not lenticular eyed.

  • HolyGeekboy says:

I am buying none of the LOOK! Cars except the chases and new models. They look crummy and gimmicky, and are definitely not worth an extra dollar!

    • PirateDad says:

Shockingly, the Cdn price did not increase!?!?! I was really surprised, mind you, they are already $5 to your $3.30 with conversion, so I guess we are already paying for it up the bumper!!

      • unimog says:

I am travelling in Canada this week and I picked up Saluting Sarge this evening at Zellers. The price did go up from $4.99 to $5.99. Ouch! I’m glad I don’t have to pay those kind of prices in the states! I was surprised to see the packaging on the Lenticulars. They appeared to be the international version with four languages. Previous Canadian versions only had French and English if I remember correctly. I’m thinking that maybe Cars will be more readily available in Canada if they use the international packaging???? At least I got my Canadian souvenir on this trip. As far as the lenticulars go, my daughter likes them and convinced me to buy her ONE (Sally). As for me, the eyes look pixelated. I guess I am sensitive to pixelated images since I am really into high definition!

  • Roswell says:

how will this play out internationly?

will we only get lenticulars as we have no target?

idealy, it should be the other way around, lenticulars as a target/tesco exclusive, and everywhere else can have the regular cars.

(MET: I don’t want to say it but yes, as of now, there no plans for the classics to make it internationally … sorry. You might try complaining to Mattel Int’l).

    • Roswell says:

      i think ill do that!

fellow non americans should do the same!

    • King of Cars says:

Mattel Benelux (supplier for the Netherlands, Belgium and I guess Luxemburg) still has the regular cases ready for order.

The Lenticulars are in the system for about 6 weeks now but still not in the warehouse… Will let everybody know when this situation changes.

  • Bill in Simi Valley, CA says:

The best thing about these lenticular Cars are they’re so available. I walk by them every time I’m at the store and they’re still there! The exact same ones!! They blink and wink at me and I may pick one up to check it out but at the end of the day, they all hang together on the pegs like one big happy family. Who dares to buy one and break up the perfect display? Certainly not me, I prefer the crappy old ones from KMart…

    • TJH-AZ says:

      Amen.
All of the WM’s around me are full of “the family”. Especially LM and all of his clones. Where does anyone think they’re going to put this new case? ALL the pegs are full except for the two spots where Sarge and Chase Ferrari went. And some WM’s still have the old non lenticulars so they’re overflowing at those locations. This will be a s – l – o – w summer at WM. Hopefully the Mega sized will move some but I’m not overly optimistic. I haven’t checked out the TRU around me ’cause basically, THEY SUCK. But, maybe we’ll give them a try. I think the first Salutin Sarge is going to end up being the hardest to find if it’s not released again. There just weren’t enough of them out there. 1 per case, 3 cases per store, 13 stores around me. 39 salutin sarges that probably most of went onto ebay. Even though I didn’t get a chance to get the KMart cars, they are WAY more available than Salutin Sarge.

      • BMW says:

Well I hate to say it, but the darn things are flying off the shelves here at Walmarts in Houston. They are gone. I had to go to four Walmarts the first day this lenticular case hit on June 21-22 to get Salutin Sarge, found 4 of him and 4 Chase Ferraris. No restocking of the case since.
BTW, TRU just got in Trunk Fresh Hauler. So even though TRU usually is a wasteland for Cars, they are now restocking.

        • TJH-AZ says:

I’ve been to the 13 WM’s around me and all but one has stocked the lenticulars and non of them it appears have sold anything BUT the Sarge and Chase Ferrari. The pegs are full and have been since they first appeared, which I think has been at least 2 weeks. Your 4 Salutin Sarge’s are a find, especially if they’re not re-released. I went to one of the 2 TRU around here and they had just stocked 2 cases of lenticulars and found the chase Ferrari’s but funny thing, the Salutin Sarge’s were already gone. Hmmmm.

  • Monica says:

Scored my first lenticulars on Tuesday. They are cute and I do like them and love he packaging, however, I am just buying one set of the lenticular townies for the collection , definitely not collecting them all.

  • Indykjt says:

So do we know yet if this “Chase” Dinoco McQueen will be lenticular or not?

I know “new” releases will be classic style, but I THINK we MAY have seen Dinoco McQueen before… just not with the little cup!

  • I would rather this line go away and the regular series comeback everywhere.

  • Dunroamin says:

Umm…yeah…has the first case hit my area…maybe..but I only find LMs…somethign tells me I’m going to be trading my first born for a little shiny plastic cup…don’t need another Dinoco McQueen!

  • Am I the only person (sucker) who actually likes the lenticulars and is willing (brain-washed) to buy them? 😉

The thing I like the most about these lenticulars is the packaging. It’s very similar to how some RLC Hotwheels are packaged. You can really appreciate the art of the Car more when you can look at it from all sides. I hope the rest of the Cars mainline will be packaged this way.

It’s funny…my son could care less about the lenticulars. When we first saw them he really liked Chick Hicks and Mater so I got extras of those two for him, but the rest he had no interest in. Needless to say, I’m really just collecting (hoarding) these for myself. 🙂

    • FuturePixarGoddess says:

Im totally with you girl, I may be the only one in Texas but I think they are pretty cool! and I totally agree about the packaging 🙂

(MET: Lenticular packaging – world class, lenticular concept – solid, lenticular actual distribution plan – squirrelly).

    • Shadow_Faststart says:

I saw some lenticulars last weekend at WM and for the first time, I had no desire to pick up “new” cars. Yes, the packaging is nice, but the lenticular eyes didn’t do anything for me. In fact, the lenticulars that I found seemed to have their eyes closed from most angles, which made them even less interesting to me. Anyhoo…my 2 cents.

      • BMW says:

Yep, agree, great packaging, but the cars with closed eyes, no, takes away from the character of the car and the reason we love them so.

Now if the new KMart Cars Day 3 have the classic eyes but the lenticular packaging, that would be spectacular! And from the back door pics on ebay they will!

    • Marcus' mom says:

I am with ya here…. looking forward to getting a Sarge, though… it’s about time!

  • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

i was hoping the would keep sarge for another round too.. but i guess it wouldnt make sense to them since they are putting a lenticular sarge in there.. bummer 🙁 i cant decide if we want to do all the lenticulars or not LOL

  • Blake from MN says:

you just had to post this right after I changed edit grid didn’t you! LOL

  • PirateDad says:

Hey guys, I am away at a show, but while driving through Toronto, I found the Lenticluars in WM…Woo Hoo, except they kind of suck…. not even Ethan really cared, I showed him, he went Meh…and ran to the Transformers toys!!

BUT, funny story, the girl was actually putting the cases out when we got there and she was excited to show them to us. I asked her for the Salutin Sarge and she actually tried to talk me OUT of him, telling me “BUT his eyes DON’T change!!!” I giggled and said that we still wanted him!!

SOOOO, PirateDad’s take on the googly eyed cars…wish they actually were googly eyed, wod have like them better…Sally is not to bad, Fillmore is pretty cool, Mater was terrible, and TOO MANY LM’s in the case!

  • cac1959 says:

I hope to find Boost, DJ, and Sarge… and that’s it… Lenticulars… I won’t collect them all… and this is the first Chase Car I have no desire to buy.

  • L8rM8r says:

I was wondering when they were going to start shipping this case. The local Wally world has had 6 LMQs on the peggs for about 2 weeks now. Hopefully we will see this case next week sometime.

  • Chris says:

It’s too bad about these lenticulars. They’re definitely my SECOND choice after the regular Cars.
