Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: We Have Seen the Errors of Your CARS Production Ways

You say potato, I say po-tot-toe

You say error, I say variant … let’s call the whole eBay thing off …

Vitoline Card
Blue – Green, whatev.

Easy Idle Tool
Easy Idle, Vitoline – whatev. Thanks for the photo Kevin NascarBroncosFan.

I’m telling, I am NOT Bumper Save … we look nothing alike!

Not Bumper Save

No Stall – about to stall …

No Stall
It’s the straightaway – I’ll just shut my eyes for a second …

No Stall Close
Is it over? can I look now?

Thanks For the Re-tread & No Stall photos, John in Mo.

Of course, No Stall’s troubles are hardly over …

No Stall Lamp
I told you it’s not a xeon headlamp, it’s just a sticker, crazy car parts thieves!

Gray License

Gray/Dinoco Semi sans license and mud flap stickers … error or variant? Only time will tell …

I sense there will be much pawing of pegwarmers later today … thanks to Rick S.-Rumbler74

As the old saying goes, “Please make our mistakes the centerpiece of your collection! Collect us all as we may be errors and variants so leave nothing on the shelves to chance! :-)”

(this preceding message was brought to you by the Toy Plastics Council of Macau & Container Ships Unite!)

For those unsure what is a variant and what is an error, here’s an old post that I guess that should be updated 🙂

pay the money, get your money’s worth – otherwise it’s just shoddy production and not worth it….but then again, there are the “collectors” of anything and everything….ah, the collectors, reminds me i need to watch “the lost room” one more time….

  • BMW says:

Uh, Snot Rod with Confetti, thats my variant.
TJ with upside down plate TUF GUY(gave it away)

  • Steve says:

My words on the back of my tool chest is upside down.

  • John in Missouri says:

I can top all of your with an “erriant” I found. It’s just a Lightning McQueen, but EVERYTHING was produced upside down. The label, the blister, the diecast car, the card, the rear of the card, and the J-hook are ALL upside down. It’s really incredible! I will let it go for $5,000. For photos, please email me at John@BrooklynBridgeAndOtherLandSales.net.

    (((throws notes in the air)))

  • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

I have an empty K-Mart Days 2 factory sealed empty case! $1,500 or Best Offer! Shipping is only $59.95! 🙂

(MET: Is this the great or orange sticker variant?).

    • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

Actually comes with a previous unknown “Bumper Slave” sticker!

    • cac1959 says:

I can set you up with and empty sealed case with the Blue sticker variant…. ### of 239 – was on all my cases that were ordered June 3 and delivered on 6/29. Since there were only 239 of them, they should be worth more, right?

I also have the empty sealed case without a sticker… those came on 6/25…. I ordered them on 6/5, and received them on 6/25…

They apparently used a last in first out method for filling the orders.

I never did see the orange or green sticker variant cases…

      • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

I’ll trade you my purple “Sven” for one! Maybe!

      • BMW says:

chris don’t you mean First in last out?

        • cac1959 says:

          First in, last out (FILO)
          Last in, first out (LIFO)

My last orders were filled and shipped first… those were the ones that I paid for via PayPal… The ones I received last were paid for via credit card.

I remember from my college accounting course, FIFO – First in, first out… I expected orders to be filled in that manner, but the good news is the orders were filled.

Anyway, most everyone I know has gotten their cases… Dev and his team lived up to his word and they got the job done.

I like the below comment about the empty sealed case… to minimize shipping some wanted just the Cars and not the cardboard box the Cars came in… If people bought the Speedway of the South display case, maybe someone would buy an empty box… create your own Kmart Collector Event 2 case….

As Met says, collect them all!

Bring on the October Collector Event!

          • DLMcQueen says:

Someone already tried selling empty cases on ebay. Really. The empty K-case box from the KMart day. No CARS, just an empty box, for $5.99 IIRC. Needless to say, there were no takers!

      • 5oclockshadow says:

I know I would be a little ticked at Kmart if I received an empty sealed case…

  • uncle skippy says:

I don’t see the Vitoline Pitty with the Easy Idle as a variant… it is a production error nothing more…

I define a variant as a running change to an item… i.e. original Mater’s were more Metal, now they are more plastic… a running change… this is a Variant…

The wrong tool box??? A production error…

    Wrong tags??? Production Errors…

There are people who collect these oddities… more power to them… to me they are just incorrect…

And Easy Idle Tool Box in a Vitoline Pitty is easily faked if one really wanted to… buyer beware…

  • iCollect Cars says:

Let’s just call them “Erriants” and get it over with.

  • ScoobyDoo says:

I think this is just a new Mattel ploy to increase sales. And it works !

  • bhutsell says:

I picked up two Shifty Drugs with Mood Springs tickets, and a Bumper Save with an Easy Idle ticket.

  • MackDaddy says:

No Stall with his eyes closed right before leakless slams hims. This should have been part of the movie moments set.

  • cac1959 says:

I have a Chase Mini – Mini and the Mini ticket with the Chase Mario cardback. I received it in a trade. I was disappointed that I didn’t see any of the Vitoline Pitty with the Easy Idle toolbox and tires.

  • Nice!

So Met are you thinking the Vitoline Pitty error is common enough to call it a variant? I’ve seen several of them.

(MET: Yea, I guess it would fall under accessory variant …)
