Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Disneyland-Disneyworld Mini Adventures Exclusive Playmat

The mysterious and exclusive Mini Adventures playmat is out with TWO exclusive MINI’s!

I was still waiting for mine to arrive but Al L. of the fun www.miceage.com (all things Disney theme parks) sent along some pics to tide us over.

front-playmat

The playmat folds out to Disneyland – a rarity according to Al who says most theme park artwork generally is DisneyWorld … and not only do you get a carrying bag to tote the playmat and other CARS things … there are TWO exclusive MINI’s …

mcqueen-sally

Mickey Lightning & Minnie Sally … won’t be long until Goofy Mater πŸ™‚ Or would he be Donald Duck Mater?

playmat-back

Exclusive to the Disneyland-DisneyWorld-Disney Paris Resorts. Not sure if it will be available in Hong Kong or Tokyo … let us know if you’re there!

So, if you’re headed to DL-DW, drop us a line and find a ginormous box! πŸ™‚

Don’t forget, your birthday visit to Disneyland is FREE this year. So you owe me πŸ™‚

Here is the UPC – not sure if it will help when you ask Chip or Dale … 0-27084-67922-9 … and when they shrug, will you say, “typical squirrel,” to see if that riles them up?

Grown man versus two giant chipmunks … that’s a fight I’d like to see on the Country Bear Jamboree stage …

Thanks for the pics, Al.

I called the number Marlain8 supplied above (407-363-6200). The person I spoke with said she couldn’t use the UPC code from the box because that’s a Mattel # not a Disney stock #. She sent me what she thought I was looking for (they don’t have access to pictures of items for some reason) and as luck would have it I got it! The # you need to order it is 4-00127-76198-1. If that doesn’t work try dropping the first & last #. $26.95 + about $10 shipping. It’s very cute indeed!

Does anyone know WHICH Disney parks (i.e. EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, etc) the minis playmat with mickey/minnie LMcQ and Sally are available at? Is it in the front entrance big store, or hidden somewhere in the park at a cars-related ride, etc. Thanks!!!

    Lightning MickeyQueen
    Minnie Sally
    Goofy Mater
    Donald Doc

    …Who else?

    chuki m,

FYI, Met and I talk about this alot. We are both frustrated but cannot fix it.

Wish it were so but it’s not. I just hope we don’t kill the goose that’s laying the golden egg.

I comment a lot on this site because I care about what you Collectors are saying about my Line. You guys are the heart and soul of what I’m trying to accomplish. I don’t and will not pimp out this Line. I have to keep it real.

Damn, I wish it were different and you guys could get all the cool stuff we’ve concepted. Hey, if I had JL’s cell number I’d just give him a call and say “fix it Johnnie Boy” but I don’t have that pull. I’m just a scrub Designer here after 27 years trying to keep my job.

Wish it were better. I’m sorry I can’t make it so. Sure wish I was Superman.

    • 5oclockshadow says:

Its nice to know that someone from the Mattel side of the fence can look past the numbers and actually try to connect with the buyers and collectors. Your enthusiasm and updates have given more life to this line than anything the sales reps have ever done.

    • jestrjef says:

      JUST KEEP SWIMMING, ACURA!!

Keep giving us hope that things will turn around. Your work is incredible and we just WANT IT ALL NOW!! I just hope Mattel will see what they are doing.

I wonder if they get out to see the PEGS and SHELVES? Do they see 30 McQueens on the Pegs? Do the see the NEWEST stuff fly off the peg with in hours of it being put out??

Does some one report it up the chain? Can I volunteer for that job? I don’t ask for much, just 3 of every new Cars product before it hits the shelf!! πŸ™‚

  • acuransx says:

    Guys,

    I feel your pain but not my R & R, role/responsibilty……………..

this will be the last time I respond to this type of comment because it is totally out of my control.

    I’m done.

    • chuki_mama says:

Your frustration is totally understandable. :=( It’s GREAT that you respond to a LOT of the posts and give insiders information regarding the Cars line. Even though distribution seems to be very incosistent, it is not a reflection of the GREAT cars that you are designing. I’m trying to keep the FAITH that eventually the products will be available…. πŸ™‚

  • Lorri says:

For me the hardest so far has been some of the mini’s Im missing. Right now its RS FD Lizzie and Sally. From the 1:55s the mega-size like Elvis, Dustin, I never have seen them on pegs. And at the very beginning, during the desert back days, Lizzie was extremely hard for me to find.

  • John says:

Posted this on another thread and thought it relevant to repost here in light of the comments of Jestr Jeff who is usually the model of optimism.

Seriously folks….. people say that this line isn’t dying, and gaining in popularity. Prove it.. If you look at the blog postings on this site, which I absolutely love by the way, we have discussed stickers, christmas ornaments, hair shoes, waking up Canadian, and finding plastic baggies for under a buck at the dollar general.

Where are the new cars??? Mattel wants to report their dismal numbers and show that cars are down, well guess what, when you keep releasing Lightning McQueen 12 to a box, and release two new cars every other month, you isolate your fan base, and the end result is β€œI give up.” Unfortunately for me, the pace at which this line has crawled to an almost complete stop during the golden age of cars is ridiculous. I have talked to many store managers who say they can’t get approvals to order any more CARS merchandise i.e. new cases, haulers, oversized etc, b/c what they have sits on the shelves. Now, the stores sit with haulers of Mack, Gray, and Chick, singles of various sorted McQueens, and oversized versions of Oft, and the single Cab only trucks.

What a totally ingenious line……. I used to really have a passion for collecting these with my kids, but now it is just frustrating, and the topics for the blog over the past several weeks prove that there is nothing to talk about CARS wise. Now we wait for K-Mart day 2 if it is still in business, and San Diego Comic Con to get yet another line delineation from this product.

Before this line is terminated for complete lack of interest, those who are in the know, which there appear to be several floating around here, need to make some pleas to JL to get something done. Where are the new 3 packs, better case assortments, newer haulers, etc… where?

    clockshadow,

No worries, no harm, no foul. I just actually liked the graphic tire tread across the card. Totally subjective stuff.

Yeah, it’s been kinda dead here but will heat up quickly once SDCC gets closer. Also waiting for the package of the Rescue Mater and the girls to arrive so I can send in a image of how it lights up in package. The Gasoline and Match factory fire cracks me up πŸ™‚

3 red LED’s light up printed mylar flames in the windows, fun try me.

Jestrjef, yeah, sure wish I was in charge of distribution as well, I don’t know, maybe it’s the stores themselves that are pooching it. Sure frustrating for me as well. All the hard work at this end and zippo. πŸ™

    • Lorri says:

I actually agree with Britt – for me its not the tire tread across the card, I like that, its the phrase “synthetic rubber tires”, and it being so big. It feels like “artificial colors and flavors” in screaming big type on food. I would have said “real racing tires” or “tires with racing tread” or something like that. I doubt if little kids know what synthetic means, and for adults it has a kind of negative connotation. JMO.
But thats nitpicking because I will buy as many of these as possible!

  • LUCA says:

    I WANT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT CAN I DO???

  • Edge says:

hardest car to find that I actually did find:

Charlie Checker with the correct red tail lights (par of the WM 8), but thanks to an excellent trade with SuperDon, this car arrived in my mailbox today! πŸ™‚

hardest car to find that I am still looking for:
Rollin’ Bowlin’ Mater. Anyone out there that can help me with this one?

    • MiaSenorita says:

Funny thing is I saw this on eBay today… did Rollin’ Bowlin’ Mater really come like this?

      http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200332880396&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123

      • Lorri says:

yep. The three ways you could get one was 1)RB Mater game, 2)in the 2006 Factory sealed set (RB mater was included on a card), 3)in this set.
Remember a few months ago when some person was trying to sell one on ebay that had RB mater replaced with a regular mater? I emailed the seller to ask about it and they said thats the way they had gotten it. hmmm.

        • MiaSenorita says:

Oh I missed that! Very interesting! He came out before we were big collectors and I never saw this set or any rollin’ bowlin’ mater anywhere. And no Toys R Us for me. Thanks for the help Lorri!

      • Edge says:

This person doesn’t seem to ship to Canada, so that won’t help me… πŸ™

      • Micky says:

Yes. I have that set and the one that came with it. I saw on ebay where both sets went for $142.49. I’m really tempted to sell mine since I have Rollin Bowlin Mater loose and also in his Rollin Bowlin Set. Can’t decide πŸ™

        http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=320356380222

        • 5oclockshadow says:

My advice. Sell. Always best to do it while interest has peaked. If it is mint, you could get anywhere up to $80 for it. I would wait until after this current one has sold, and you have the only one listed. You can also help bid this one up too to help your cause. But you didn’t hear that from me. πŸ˜‰

          • Micky says:

I hope you were kidding on the “bidding this one up”. I don’t advocate that. Kids read these posts and that’s not a message they need to have. Sorry 5oclockshadow. Please don’t take offense, none was intended.

      • Lorri is correct. I have this set. I bought it off eBay when it first came out. I think I paid $21.00 for it? I’m curious to see how much it will go for now.

        • 5oclockshadow says:

This was definitely not the hardest to find at the time for me. I remember seeing the Rollin Bowlin game sets for $9.98 on clearance at TRU and KB Toys. They used to have stacks of them.

The only Car I had never seen in the wild during its release was Supercharged Dale Earnhardt Jr. People were going crazy over this one. I gave up on him a long time ago, and bought the WOC version. But much to my surprise, I found one at Big Lots a couple weeks ago. I did a little victory dance in the aisle like I had found a Super Chase Solid Gold Apple iCar or something. πŸ˜†

          • Edge says:

Maybe there were plenty of Rollin’ Bowlin’ Maters to be had in the USA, but I haven’t ever seen RBM in Canada in the wild. Ever. So that would make it kinda hard.

  • PirateDad says:

    Hello Cars Fans,

Hoping to get a discussion going, as there has been a lack of interaction on take5 lately….

What has been your HARDEST car to find?

Believe it or not, for me it was Chuki…back in the day when she was first released, oh so many moons ago, she was snatched up in Canada cuz she was NEW, and pretty much the first girl car in a single…

She was also on the back of the “collect them all” pictures on cards, so we knew she existed!! Well, my search for her lead me to Take5 and to my first ever Trade, with L8rM8r…. the rest is history but I am glad I could not find her, or I NEVER wood have found Take5!! Thanks again L8rM8r, and congrats on your New BABY, JULIET

    • King of Cars says:

      Oh, this should be fun.

Our hardest car is probably Mater (Takel in dutch).
When the movie was out my son loved it but by the time we knew that there where die cast Cars of the movie they where sold out everywhere.

Must have searched 20+ toystores for Mater but didn’t find him.
Found him 2 months later, 3000 miles from where I live in New York.

I thought, “Finally, I (I mean my son) have them all…”.
NEVER HAVE BEEN SO WRONG ALL MY LIFE !!!!

    • John in Missouri says:

If you’re talking about playsets, I’d say the California Speedway Set was the hardest for me to find.

If you’re talking about everything else, it’s a 3-way tie: Elvis RV, Impound Wingo, and Tank Coat Launcher. I have them all via Take5aDay trades, but I still have NEVER seen them in the wild.

    • MiaSenorita says:

Well my hardest to find car was Tank Coat.. still haven’t found that one. Have all the other launchers, but that one is elusive!

Hard to remember all the hard to find cars.. there have been so many in the chase, and it has been fun! Of the cars I HAVE found, probably Impound Wingo has been the hardest.. I have only seen ONE in the wild, and I bought it!

Fun to think back though, thanks PD πŸ˜€

    • MiaSenorita says:

Ok, so I already submitted an answer I thought, but it didn’t show up. So don’t throw tires at me if I post this twice πŸ™‚

My hardest to find car that I still haven’t found… TANK COAT. I have all the launchers but I cannot find that one. Grr!

My hardest to find car that I DID find was Impound Wingo. I have only seen 1 in the wild, and I bought it! That is the only car that I have ever only seen once.

Thanks for the idea PD, fun to think back about the hundreds of cars we have all searched for!

    • Matt B says:

I think for me lately it has been Elvis even though I picked him up last week and that was purely due to my old girl who works in the Toy Dept at Walmart pulled him aside for me. I still have yet to see him at Target or any other Walmarts. I am pretty lucky as I am surrounded by a good amount of Walmarts and Targets that I can get caught up pretty easily. Now if only Case H and the new Launchers would hit the East Coast I would be happy.

    • Micky says:

      Hi PD,

Right now the hardest car to find is Elvis.
There have been many in the past that I had to hunt & hunt for but the one I never ever found in the wild was Flea & Flik. I got one on ebay but it’s not as exciting as finally finding it in the wild. I hope to find it someday :0

    • Flik'sFriend says:

OK…so for me, the hardest one to find was Dusty Mellons…but I have yet to see Flea and Flik in the wild…and for those of you that know me, yes, I would still run naked in the streets if I found them!!! πŸ˜‰

    • When Cars first started coming out Lizzie was the hardest Car for me to find. I eventually did find her in a store. πŸ™‚

Great topic PD! Brings back those wonderful memories. Remember way back when…when it was so frustrating not being able to find the newer Cars….hmmm…wait…it still is!

  • King of Cars says:

Great, going to WDW (or is it land) in Florida in about 1,5 weeks !!
The price is like “Damn !!” But hey, If I don’t get it, I’ll regret it…

  • acuransx says:

We are/will still going with the real real rubber tires and in my opinion the packaging ang product is not cheese. I think the graphic card looks great ( I hope it’s final ) and the execution was/is right on.

The K-Mart day should be great and I’m not ashamed of our offering.

Just this Designers opinion but what do I know?

    • 5oclockshadow says:

Don’t get me wrong. I love the background picture. I just think the Synthetic Rubber Tires part and Team logo seem unusually large and detract from the overall art.

    • jestrjef says:

Acura, you are the man. I love reading your stuff!

I cannot wait until the KMART day, I just hope the line survives that far! The pegs are SWIMMING with McQueens because of poor case assortments. The NEW haulers have VANISHED and NEW 3 packs have not been seen in months. Where are the NEW launcehrs . . . the problems seem to be endless. A large number of people are giving it up because MATTEL seems to be killing the CASH cow.

Acura, I know you are superman! Just wish you were also incharge of shipping and distribution!!

  • 5oclockshadow says:

Off topic, but what the heck.

Is Mattel really going with the “Synthetic Rubber Tires!” packaging for the Kmart exclusives?
Was looking at it on the carsdriveingallery and thought it looked pretty tacky.

  • Shelley says:

We just got back from WDW on the 8th. We got this set, I think it was $27.99. I’m a HUGE Mickey Mouse fan so it was a MUST for me, even though I did look at the price and go ugh! If my boys are lucky I’ll let them play with my Mickey McQueen someday!

    • Micky says:

      Shelley,

Take a look at some of my Mickey collection:

      http://www.flickr.com/photos/29391372@N02/3317860100

      What do you collect?

      • Shelley says:

I have a little bit of everything, I have the Mickey Mouse/Disney Barbie Dolls, I have lithographs from a lot of the animated movies. I painted Mickey’s on my kitchen cabinets. I have a mickey mouse chandelier in the dining room. A cabinet full of snow globes. Holiday decorations are all MM (well they are not 100% Mickey anymore, the kids have Thomas, etc..but for the most part if not Mickey, Disney)

I also have some cookie jars, happy meal toys that are Disney, etc.

Your collection looks awesome! Mine is not that organized, it’s more a little here, little there. LOL

  • Micky says:

That mini Mickey McQueen is my new avatar. We went to WDW a few weeks ago and saw this set. I didn’t buy it because I thought it cost too much, but they are too cute! I did take a photo and used it for my avatar.

    • materjr says:

What did it cost? I want one but not even close to one of the Resorts. Anyone going that can pick me one up?

      • Micky says:

Yes, it was $27.99. No kids here so I thought it was too much to pay for 2 mini cars even though I’m a big Mickey fan too! I’m feeling a little regret now that I didn’t get it πŸ™ Sorry materjr but we’ll probably not get back to WDW until the fall. Too hot in the summer.

      • My Mom-in-law works at Disney World and picked up this Mini set for my son. She found it at “Once Upon A Toy” store in Downtown Disney. The price sticker says $26.95. The playmat is made of a very thin, smooth material. The Minis Mickey McQ and Minnie Sally are very cute! My Mom-in-law was told the set was a new item so the Disney stores should have it in stock for awhile. πŸ™‚

  • rpag says:

i just dont get the minis.

  • Alan says:

If you look behind the kid’s arm there, that’s a normal green mini Chick Hicks on the back of the box.

  • marlaine8 says:

I REALLY hope they still have this when we go to Disney World this Sept.!
    Please,Please, Please.

If not, anyone can call WDW Merchandising at (407) 363-6200 and ask about any item you have seen in Disney World. All you have to do is describe the item and they will sell it to you. (Their shipping is kind of high though.) It really helps them if you have the UPC number!

  • ndemrose says:

Curses….more minis (okay, one Mickey and one Minnie)! πŸ˜›

I was going to post, “Who the heck is Flash McQueen,” but realized it was probably the English to French translation of Lightning…

  • blakefrommn says:

I hate the mini’s but this is so cute! I leave for Disneyland in about 10 days! I am so happy I booked a vacation for my birthday! WOO HOO

  • MiaSenorita says:

I just want the minis.. not so much the mat. CUTE!

  • Jasnkar4ever says:

Looks neat although I do not collect the minis
