Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Display Cases for Haulers & Megasized
Our friends at CTC/Children’s Toy Closet are selling a display case that is a nice way to display the haulers and pit crew.
Here’s what it looks like RAW. It’s acrylic and solidly built with a hinge that lifts up. It comes with mounting screws (and screw sleeves). It also has the classy mirrored back … which while great for displaying is a huge royal pain while trying to photograph it … unless you enjoy your display cases all arty …

I like to call this – “Reflections of the bleak winter before a CARS display case was available.”
Continuing with the art portion … CARS Art
Mack can fit the toolchest, tires, My Name is Not Chuck, Guido, FHH Crew Chief & McQueen … Mack is actually a slightly tighter fit as his semi cab portion does not turn as much – maybe 10 degrees less than the Leak Less Hauler).
With Leak Less (and other haulers) which can turn a skoosh more, you can actually fit in the hauler, the piston cup racer, his crew chief, toolchest, tires and in Leak Less’ case, both Pitty’s (okay, they are both Stacy but since they came packaged separately …)
Now I was too lazy to haul all the other CARS into the backyard so the rest of my day was spent trying to find space in the photograph that this mirror backed display case would not reflect anything but a solid background.

This is pretty much the best shot out of 40 I took to give an idea of how to display some of the other Piston Cup racers that might be missing the hauler for now – such as RPM or No Stall or Wally hauler with his cases of Rust-eze.
If you don’t count the launcher, it can fit all the pit crew releases – hauler, piston cup racer, crew chief and three Pitty’s if you squeeze a little into one compartment so pretty nice. The mirror back is very classy looking as long as you don’t need to photograph it 🙂
This is 10 of the 21 compartments filled.
It will definitely also fit two megasized CARS with room for one more regular CAR.
It comes with mounting instructions and the necessary screws.

That’s exactly what I wanted to do………….Oh well. 🙁
I have a Disney/Pixar Cars Display Case all Designed already. It’s in my office. Was going to have a interchangable long horizontal hyper realistic Cars landscape all along the top, frosted Cars logo on the mirrored back, full color small Cars logo in left hand corner, small Matty logo right hand corner, was gonna come with 3 special Cars available nowwhere else.
Made by the same company that makes Travers. Holds 96 or more 1:55. $300 SRP.
Unfortunately seems dead in the water. Gotta giver Traver kudos for vision, great minds think alike 🙂 Good luck CTC.

Oh man! How sad… Can’t we just make it a Matty exclusive preorder and then you only have to make as many as are ordered? Sounds cool! Especially the exclusive cars 😉

We have one that is very similar for our open singles. We leave it so that we can open it and grab them to play and then put back when we are done. Very convenient and looks great.
oooh, I want those! too bad I just spent a $100 on haulers!! another $100 for a case… I will think about that one. Nice Traver!
How many compartments are we talking here? I have lots of my Nascar stuff on display here and the smallest ones are 8 compartment and the largest 24. The 24 compartment ran me $100. They’re 3 rows of 8 like this

Those are great cases. I have two that I ordered from Clearwater Displays (D11-11 Pixar — Not shown on their website) that were made for the pixar cars. I figured can get anywhere between 66 to 80 in each case. They too have the hinges and clear covers for the front as well. Slots in between are just big enough to house Red so no worries about the singles. It does not hold the haulers (obviously) or the Megasized stuff but I got these great ‘floating’ shelves at IKEA that fit the haulers perfectly. You can line the trucks coming straight out from the wall and still have about 3/4 of an inch to the edge of the shelf. The shelf itself is about 43″ long (they do make them bigger) and each truck measures 2 1/4″ wide which translates to 19 trucks per shelf (with a tiny bit of space left)
Those cases Traver has are pretty sweet – like the fact you can put the pit crew with them!
