Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2 Diecast: John Lasseter Scores First Super Chase

John Lasseter somehow scored the first Super Chase …

So, now what kind of collector are you?

Oh, John Lasseter’s fingerprints are on it. I bid $10,000!

Oh, it’s open and it’s all fingerprints damaged – NO WAY!

😆

This is the first “Super Chase” that will be coming next year. There will be 4 in 2012.

The McQueen shape is nice but doesn’t hold nearly enough CARS. Need Albert Hinckley display case.

This is Max Schnell’s body but in Sweden (Norse Countries? Europe?), he is Swedish race car driver Jan “Flash” Nilsson and this version is known as “Flash.”

Here’s what he looks like in real life.

And here’s his ACTING scene … (and if you wanted the Swedish equivalent of ‘YOU’VE DONE A GOOD JOB, YOU GOT ALL THE LEAVES …’ here ya go).

Great idea! I’m sure the other 3 will be like another guy who replaced jeff gorvette in another version and so on. at first i saw this car and was thinking “that’s just a repaint not even in the movie…ohhhhh”

The Idea of Super Chase? Groan. Never did like the original Chase version. The Cars in the Super Chase Assortment? AWESOME!!! Just wish they wouldn’t have to be Super Chase.

Also, if you are wondering who the Super Chases might be, they are:
    Janne “Flash” Nilsson (Swedish)
    Fernando Alonso (Spanish)
    Memo Rojas Jr. (Mexican)
    Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom (Austrailian)
    Vitaly Petrov (Russian)

And then some of the normal racers took the spotlight also!
    Carla Veloso (Brazilian)
    Max Schnell (German)

If there are only 4 in 2012, then 2 of those won’t be in it. Hopefully if the line is still going in 2013 (sort of doubt it, but only time will tell), I hope they continue with the last 2.

Will Flash be available as a normal or chase car in retail stores?

So, Mattel has finally gotten around to the Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt and Supra Treasure Hunt concept and apply it to Cars! If you did not see the secondary marketeers tripping over each other when the doors open at TRU, Target and paying stock clerks and managers for these Cars, wait! if you’re there when the doors open make sure your kid wears his bicycle helmet. I did not like the ‘chase’ concept at all. I certainly do not like the ‘super chase’ concept. Is there something wrong with just marketing toys that may be found and enjoyed by the kids for whom this toy line was intended?

Crazy that with all the cars out they decided to put two and three of the same cars in that case. I spot 2 Duff Wrecks, 3 Wilmar Flattz, 3 Yeti, 3 Flo, 2 Chucki, etc… Also weird that they showcased Cars 1 diecasts and not 1 Cars 2 car….?

I have his shirt in my collection as well. Get so many comments on it when I wear it.

    I love John Lasseter!
    Love this Super chase!

That is a pretty neat display case, but I don’t see Luigi & Guido with Paint Rollers and Can. It looks like even John Lasseter had a hard time finding that one! 8)

    • John in Missouri says:

I have to wonder if John Lasseter is even aware that Luigi & Guido is a Chase piece. And I have NO DOUBT that he is not aware of availability and distribution problems, whether it be that piece or any other Cars character.

super nice !!! Where are we going to be able to purchase these ?? 2012 D23 or MATTY.COM ??

    • eltonlin98 says:

Corrine these will be sold at normal stores with unusual packaging.
Normal stores include Target, Wal-mart, etc.

There will be limited quantity so if you find one, consider yourself lucky!

Their price is around 3.99 dollars

Very nice, loving the McQueen display case.
