Are you kidding me with this stuff. My walmarts and targets are so stuffed with these repeats Mattel has been shoving down our throats that we will never see a new case of cars. They are truly killing the line, and my bets are that all this will be on clearance by October, with the line be discontinued thereafter….

Ugh! &*%$ the working man, eh Mattel? My son would be hard pressed to note the bomb variant as well he probably wouldn’t care. Looks like Miles is an expression variant too? In any event we will pass…
My son doesn’t even know what a bomb is. Unless it explodes, then it is cool. If doesn’t blow Mater up, we don’t need it. Miles has the same expression BTW.

I might just do that on the plastic Mater inside Stephenson if I find one for $7.50!
Does this package say exclusive vehicle on it like the 10 pack does with Shigeko and Okuni?

After 5 years of collecting, We have learned little remains exclusive forever, just the packaging. Well, except for one, or actually two, I am counting Tach O Mint with his plastic tires.

frustrating that they slip in these exclusives with 95% duplicates. i love to get individual characters and variants that strike my fancy but this practice they’ve taken to the next level with cars 2 is frustrating for a collector and parent. i’ll pass simply because my $ is more valuable to me than a another variant of mater and a box full of duplicates. i love collecting cars but this repeat box sets with single exclusive is really turning me off as a collector. thank god i’m not a completest and able to save money. the first movie sets taught me to be much smarter with my purchases after ending up with at least a dozen mcqueen duplicates.
I feel the same. This set is perhaps the worst example yet of this shady practice because your not even getting a new car. Just a slight variant of a Mater which many have a ton of already. A 5 cent fake plastic bomb where the air filter usually is.
Unfortunately it’s not so easy for us to only collect some of the cars. We have always collecting every car and to adjust to collecting only some may just kill the collecting all together for us. It may have to be all or nothing and these sets with all the repeats may just make it nothing.

This is exactly why I’m only collecting spies, racers, crew chiefs, and lemons. To much money for too many duplicates. Not going after variations of characters already made, unless I really like them.

Man Mattel is really working my last nerve with these 1 or 2 new cars in a set thing. Dirty, dirty dealings. They got me to the point of not blaming anyone for swapping. IMO Mattel deserves it.
I will not buy it for my son. I don’t even think he understands about the bomb on Mater in the place of his air filter. I will pick it up and ship it to someone who asked for it if I find it though.
Told the wife I would make a care package for her sister with all the duplicates. She fell for it. So I’ll buy one.
If only Nigel and Holley were logically replaced with the Queen and a british bodyguard or a cop…

If Nigel, Holley, and McQ were replaced with Vladimir Trunkov, Tubbs Pacer, and the Purple Gremlin (All simple repaints), I’d so buy this, But I won’t just for a variant. This pack is the bomb………NOT!
