Mattel Disney Toon PLANES: Diecasts on Card First Look

Thanks “Holly H.” for the early photos of the PLANES on card …

planes singles

It looks like they’ve saying a little by removing the front paper name plate and just printing it on the card on the right – so for international markets, they can just remove the name and change out the legalese on the back plus use the larger area to spell out the names in all the languages.

Since these are all in “deluxe oversized,” packaging – it seems safe to guess they are Barney Stormin’ like sized.

(There is no “singles” line for PLANES – as of now).

Looks like these will be coming in June.

Thanks for the nice photos, “Holly H.”

A local toystore group near me recieved about ten cases of Disney Planes today in error! They are not officially supposed to launch until Monday 10th June in the UK.

The error was spotted when the toystore HQ contacted Mattel UK to find out what the RRP was!

    Mattel promptly recalled all stock!

It is believed that Planes were sent out instead of the first wave of Cars 2013 Deluxe and Movie Moments. I’ll have to wait for next week’s delivery to find out!

(MET: I’m sure none will ever leak out. 😉 ).

I’m in and so is my son! Whoooo Hooooo!

I agree that if they’re affordable, I will probably buy them. They sure do look awesome!

Hmm…. I wonder if there will ever be a Boeing 747, A380, or Concorde. They certainly looked cool, and I’m sure there’s a huge following with commercial airplanes, too.

    I don’t care if Aiden wants these… I do !!!!

No clue if I want these, or if I’m not interested. Guess I’ll have to wait and see.

Never been so not excited about a new release. We’ll get one just to see how it “flies” with the kids, but I will not be collecting.

Same here. As soon as we brought the first Take Flight diecasts home, that’s all the boys want to play with. I thought Take Flight cars were dumb but, apparently, I was the dumb one. Now everything flies at our house, even the Cars without wings or jets.

Say, I have to ask someone who knows: how do I send Met a photo? A little while ago, he’d asked about the Cars supply at new Targets in Canada. Mine opened this morning. (Not MINE mine but the one near my place.) I took a pic. I was underwhelmed.

Yeah, pricing is going to be huge for any success with these. I’m willing to get these for my boy if their affordable and his interest is genuine. And I don’t consider current Deluxe pricing as affordable. These may be a total pass, even with interest in our family.

  • Mike Manifold says:

My boys won’t play with planes unless they are Star Wars Legos. We won’t be collecting these. They do look pretty cool though.

  • brittanycenter2007 says:

    I can’t wait for these!

  • bubba101212 says:

Have every intention to collect them all. Cac you know you can’t resist the power of the Planes 🙂

  • John in Missouri says:

I don’t think these will exactly be a hit in the first place, but if their price point is NOT under $5.00, they will crash and burn faster than the Speed Racer lineup from a few years ago.

  • cac1959 says:

It’s going to be plain hard for me to say No to Planes… I think I’m going to end up collecting them all…
