I want these models with plastic wheels, not rubber tires.

  • Rebecca says:

I see they are finally sold out of these cases. Can’t wait for mine. πŸ™‚

  • NascarFan says:

other than some assortment problems a year ago, and ONE case last time was dramatically different there should be no problems.

they know the photos are wrong, I already have and so did BMW point it out

  • cac1959 says:

I still have not received my e-mail confirmations for my case orders… and when I just checked the website, it no longer lists my confirmation numbers…

And did anyone else notice the website (and the photo at the top of this post) shows the Kmart 4 Cars RPM, Gasprin, Spare-O-Mint, and Vitoline?

Has anyone received their e-mail confirmation yet?

  • Bombero1956 says:

Not without the Apple logo which a copyright issue. I have a question for those who may have the SOTS set. I was sent a letter with a holographic sticker. It appears that my wife may have thrown the letter away. Is it possible to get another sticker from Mattel?

    • collectormom says:

You could call Mattel and see what they say. I’m sure it’ll be something like oh gosh darn, so sorry for your loss.

I personally don’t think the sticker has any meaning. It came separately, not on the SOTS set so really we all got a random sticker, not a numbered set. And, I remember seeing a LOT of the stickers on eBay at the time. I put my sticker on the side where it said to in the letter, because I knew I would lose it.

But I totally understand why you want it, and I AM sorry for your loss

      • BMW says:

I pretty much agree, the sticker was to soothe those of us who were angry that we didn’t get a numbered set like we thought. But since the SOTS was not a sealed box set like the factory 2006 set which no one opens or most never opened it not the same thing. However I have my letter and hologram sticker placed between the plexiglas and the box bottom so it can’t get lost and I kept the letter and hologram in the original mailed envelope with postmark and my name on the envelope from Mattel. Its all provenance. So in a way if you have the original envelope with your name on it its even better than the just the hologram which anyone could buy off ebay back then. Of course it proves you are the original owner.

        • NascarFan says:

I have a sticker and letter extra but its autographed by Martin Arriola and to my wife and yes it has the envelope.

          Cac1959:

          According to Kmart Rep S.T……

β€œAll orders for the Presale are held in que until 10-23-2010β€³

this is for the Presale Items only and doesn’t not affect anything else until the day of the Event.

    • 5oclockshadow says:

I bought and resold a few of the SOTS sets, and along the lines ended up with several extra stickers, but have no idea where I put them. Will check around this week when I have some time.

  • NascarFan says:

Surprised it hasnt sold out like many ebayers claim

    • Fillmore1234 says:

Listen to yourself, NascarFan, they are saying that for a few reasons:
      1. So they can get a better price.
      2. So they can con you into buying a case or 2 for 3 times the amount of what its supposed to be.

Still, even if they were actually out of stock, I wouldn’t buy them for that price. (whatever it is)

  • jambouk says:

As this case has already showen up in australia and the US the surprise has been ruined for most, such a shame as its a great assortment.

After this kmart5 day how many more rubber tire cars do we need for the 36 (forget apple)? i feel that will help work out if we will see more kmart days before cars 2.

can mattel get around the copyright issues with apple if they re-name it granny smith?

    • Carlos says:

Ha! That’s hilarious. So, that may be Mattel’s solution. For KM6 they have 7 exclusive mystery racers and a green granny smith car. They may have to change the number to like 85 or something. Also, do non-lenticular Paint Mask McQueens exist? Where did you get the non lenticular version?

      • Man-I-Fold says:

Carlos, both #130 Mater with Oil Can and #131 Paint Mask Lightning McQueen are pictured with classic eyes in the 2010 Collector Guide. Obviously, they aren’t classic-eyed, in Chase form anyway….

        • Carlos says:

Oh, forgot. They are in the guide like that. Just double checked. Those must be prototypes. Also found Golden Bling Bling, Metallic King, Rusteze McQ, Snow Cone Yeti, and MAter with Hood non lenty in there. Those were prototypes. Unfortunately, the final products will be lenty. Boo. Love the avatar by the way.

  • Jinzo says:

Can’t wait to KCDV πŸ˜€ Yay!
