Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: The Caitlin-FPG Lorelai Swaddling Auction

Samurai60-David & Samuel R . has graciously and generously put together FOUR great CARS package that are great by themselves but have again, generously and graciously agreed to donate all proceeds to our friend Caitlin L. From David’s own words …

As many of you know, Caitlin (futurepixargoddess) is due with baby Lorelai in March.  The Samurai family wanted to do something for baby Lorelai but also for the Take 5 family that has continued to grow over the last couple of years.  The Samurai family is putting up 4 lots of Cars for a sealed bid, silent auction.  ALL of the money raised during this auction will go to Lorelai so that she can hopefully buy something relatively substantial for herself when the time comes.  Long time and active Take 5 member Samuel has also donated Cars for this, the custom Apple Car, the Sidewall Shine, Bubba and Mater pack and the Gold Ransburg McQueen and Rescue Squad Mater from the Blu-Ray package!  Email your bids with the name of the lot in the subject line and in the message your bid to dkyoshida@yahoo.com Bidding ends at midnight MST on Friday, March 5th.  I have a reserve on these lots (approx. the retail price, not the eBay price!) so I can make sure that baby Lorelai can buy something good!  Only the winning bidder will be contacted.  Bidder is responsible for shipping costs.  Spread the news to friends and family!  Dig deep for a great cause for a great member!  Thanks Take5″

Lot One: McQueen and Chase Lot

This lot contains one of the holy grails of Cars collecting; a sealed in baggie, never opened Blu-Ray McQueen that was released a couple of years ago as a promo by Disney.  There were only 15000 made.  This has the correct date stamp on the bottom 2427EA.  This lot also includes a 2008 San Diego Comic Convention exclusive Lightning Storm McQueen.  This was taken out of the box and white tissue paper only to take this photo.  Also included is a Desert Back 12 Lightning McQueen, chase King with Piston Cup, chase Mario, chase DJ, chase Darryl, chase Ferrari and Chase Salutin’ Sarge.

Lot Two: Cars Toons Lot

This lot contains a great starter assortment of the Cars Toons Cars released over the last year.  A 2009 San Diego Comic Convention Rescue Squad Mater set with Dalmatian Mia and Tia starts this lot off.  Three huge four packs are also included.  Dr. Mater, Burn McQueen, Nurse Mia and Tia, Mater the Greater, High Dive Mater, Lug and Nutty, Aviator Mater, Stuntman/Rocket McQueen, Lug, and Props McGee are found in these four packs.  Nurse Kori, Nurse GTO, Burnt McQueen and Lug and Nutty in the singles format are here as well.  Last but not least, a Dragon McQueen with Collectors Book round out this lot!

Lot Three:  Piston Cup Racer Starter Lot

If you haven’t been around or able to get the K Mart Days Cars, this lot is for you!  Sixteen Piston Cup Racers are included here to get your collection started!  Sputter Stop from the original K Mart Days is here and then, No Stall, Lil’ Torquey Pistons, Bumper Save, Clutch Aid, N20 Cola, Trunk Fresh, Rev n Go, Shifty Drug, Re-volting, Tow Cap, Mood Springs, Vinyl Toupee, Easy Idle and Octane Gain are all from K Mart II and III Days!  A classic Leakless three pack is also included.

Lot Four: Cars Collecting Starter Set

This lot has a little Canadian flavor!  Right before Christmas, one of our large retailers, Canadian Tire, released an interesting gift box containing ten random Cars in the WOC cards with a collector’s poster.  This specific box contains Guido, Chick Hicks, the King, Doc Hudson, Wingo, Radiator Springs McQueen, Tom, Ferrari, Fabulous Hudson Hornet crew chief and a weird one, a Tongue McQueen with “Lightning McQueen” on the card.  Also included are a Mack Truck with black transporter with Sally and Radiator Springs McQueen and a copy of Cars the Movie on Blu-Ray with Rescue Squad Mater and the Gold Ransburg McQueen!

Lot Five (PHOTO COMING!): Exclusives Lot

This lot has only two Cars but some pretty good ones at that!  A custom Apple Car and a Toys R Us Promo Sidewall Shine!  If you want to have 35 of the 36 Cars to show off on your Piston Cup race track, this lot is for you!  Who knows when/if ever, the Apple Car will be released.  Your only option might be one of these customs!

Email your bids with the name of the lot in the subject line and in the message your bid to dkyoshida@yahoo.com

Bidding ends at midnight MST on Friday, March 5

I have a reserve on these lots (approx. the retail price, not the eBay price!) so I can make sure that baby Lorelai can buy something good!  Only the winning bidder will be contacted.  Bidder is responsible for shipping costs.  Spread the news to friends and family!  Dig deep for a great cause for a great member!  Thanks Take5ers!

Thanks again David & Samuel and if you have gaps in your collection or want to grab some nice collectibles that are getting harder to find – it’s a win-win for you and for Caitlin-Richie & Lorelai – so bid early and bid often!

Thanks!

I feel like I have to say something profound and deeply insightful…We are deeply touched and honored to be thought of. There are so many people who need help who arent lucky enough to have friends and extended family like the Take 5 family. The world has become a better place because of you David. Lorelai will learn of your good deeds one day and how they helped to give her a smoother start in the world and how we can all make small choices to make someone else smile, cheer them up on a bad day, remind them they have a friend during a sad hour, or even be there when things get really tough. Our eternal gratitude to all of you.

    DUDE!!!
You are the man David, samurai60!
I was impressed when people donated from $6 to %75 each towards Lorelai, Caitlin and Rich’s new baby, BUT THIS, this is INCREDIBLE!!!

You are teaching the children WONDERFUL life lessons that so many of us need to be reminded of…THANK YOU Samurai Family!!!!

  • Nascarfan says:

  • Micky says:

Good Luck with these auctions. I hope you raise lots of money for baby Lorelai 🙂

  • Fiddleheads says:

WOW! Great idea! Very thoughtful. Good luck! 🙂

  • quercy says:

Today et Target SURPRISE! They have received several ShineWall Launchers. I grab one before the troop behind me jump on them (my imagination) 😉 Then I get to the cashier SURPRISE again! She cannot sell it to me and told me they must remove them from the shelves because the price is not entered in the system! I asked to fix this issue now because by tomorrow on my way back they will be soooooo not there anymore! Nope! issue couldn’t be solved…

I am getting tired to wait so long and now this! What kind of marketing it is? Thousands of businesses are dying to have customers begging for more!!!! Like Buzz used to say “This is a very strange planet…”

(MET: The few times it has happened to me, I just tell them the price and they assign some other DPCI to it … maybe I just like I might start crying 🙂 or if you have them price check a baseball bat at the same time, I get the best customer service :-0 ).

    • Monica says:

Dude, you should have demanded to see the manager! That is completely absurd.

    • I had the same issue at one of my local Target stores. I brought up another Lightyear Launcher and they scanned that one instead but still bagged the Sidewall.

    • quercy says:

I tried by giving the price without sucess. I must admit I should asl for manager or go back to grab an other launcher (I really tought about it) but I was on the rush… I did want to miss Canada-Russia hockey game!….

I will definitively get this fixed tonight with or without the baseball bat. (thanks for the tip!)

    • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

Well on a different toy, but, still lamebrain Target, I tried to purchase two Webkinz Easter plush toys. The toys are sold in a small bag. They cost $4.99 at Target. Well, the cashier took each of the Webkinz from its back and scanned the hang tag for $4.99 each. Then she scanned each of the bags because they had a UPC code on the bottom. She tried to charge me $4.99 for the bag and $4.99 for the toy in the bag! I tried to explain the error to her. She refused to budge. I asked for the manager. The manager checked the shelf code, and, she upheld the cashier. Lame! Lame! Of course, I left the toys behind, and, filed a verbal complaint and an email complaint with corporate Target. Except for an email saying they were checking into the situation, there has been no further response. Lame! Lame! Lame!
