Not particularly canon, the Cars Toon Mater the Greater playset is out …
Yea, technically, it should be a bull ring but of course that’s a lot of plastic and really for kids, not that much fun so this while this is not particularly accurate nor canon – it is nevertheless has much more play value for kids.
You do get a PLASTIC El Materdor and a PLASTIC Chuy the Bulldozer.
PLASTIC as in PLASTIC and not metal diecast.
PLASTIC.
It’s not quite FANTASTIC but it is PLASTIC.
Yes, nearly 100% plastic except the screws holding it together.
Yes, like Angeline Jolie’s new face – plastic.
Did I mention this is plastic?
Chuy has wheels underneath his non-moving treads …

Found 4 of these today at Wal-Mart. They’re in a box labeled Cars LP Asst. 4 PC
You know the thing that surprises me is that more playsets/environments from the movie aren’t being produced. Some car passes by a camera angle and Mattel is like “MAKE THEM!! AND THEN SEND THIS JUST ONE CASE TO MILWAUKEE, THE TARGET IN MILWAUKEE!” But we can’t get a decent series of environmental playsets?!
I mean look at what they do for Thomas the Tank Engine, I actually LOVE that line because of all of the extra stuff they make to interact with the trains. And it’s all FOR KIDS! LOL!
Think back to the days of He-Man and G.I. Joe where you could get accessory packs. Is it that hard to make fuel pumps, road signs, cones, heck, connectable road patterns! ALL of those things could so be extra money in Mattel’s pocket and keep the collectors and kids happy.
I for one, (getting back to the main subject at hand), will hope and pray that the Disney store goes all “spider monkey” on Mattel and OWNS them by releasing a DieCast BullDozer.
Mattel has been on vacation recently. On the SS Failboat.
we should all know by now that its not about keeping us die-hard cars collectors happy. its all about emptying our nearly already empty pockets.

Yeah right, like you wouldn’t give up your whole collection for some quality time with the real life Mia. I think I know what package your shipping out quick and which one your to would option to trade for there. π
I actually opened this set for me son… he loves it. In fact, those “plastic” toys from this set are suffice for my son. That way I can keep the real ones “metal” once they come out in a collection. And when he asks for the real one, I just say… you already have it. π He has no idea… and he’s four… Ha!

I always wonder where people are getting these cars. They are always so far ahead of anything I ever see in the stores. Makes me even more frustrated!!!
I’m wondering about Vern. He’s listed on the back of some of my Final Lap cards, but the only thing I’ve seen of him on eBay is the lenticu-lame version.

I saw a UFM playset on toys-r-us.com last week, but when I decided to order it and went back on the site , it wasn’t there anymore. (and I know I wasn’t dreaming. I had three items waiting in my cart, and then a few days later it was only one) What the heck?
I just went back on the site, and it is listed again, but now says “out of stock”. I signed up to be notified by e-mail when it becomes available, but if they are anything like Target.com, that will be NEVER!
Michele good thing you didn’t order this playset. I fell into Their trap and ordered it online and they shipped me the rescue squad playset instead. when I called them on it they said oops looks like it the wrong item, it’s just a picture. We really don’t have that item in stock yet.

Mattel expects your money to go towards the Mini’s, Color-Changers, Lenticulars, and all those extra Cars Toons that are cluttering up the shelf…not to mention all those boxsets that include a brand spanking new…Lightning McQueen!

Hey, has anyone noticed that DR. Mater in the box set is plastic or is it just mine?
Plastic cars are okay, but the metal cars are better.
We’re not even half-way through the HAULERS for our collections and Mattel is still at it designing plastic play sets for the Toons line.
Looks like more $20-$25 crap. How is this even relevant to the toon? π We’ll save that $25, add a couple more to it and actually buy a few METAL Chuys and a Materdor!
Looking forward to getting my mitts on the “real” version. Chuy, you will be mine.

It means it is true in ratio as well as in design with respects to the character in the movie…

I strongly doubt it.
It depends on which country you’re in. You see, in Canada, ‘PLASTIC’ translates as follows: “This is as close to a Die-cast Mattel Disney Pixar CAR as you’re going to get for El Materdor, so you better consider it to be actual die-cast”.
So I guess to us Canadians, the cars shown above are actually die-cast, not plastic. π
Ok, let’s consider the ramifications:
I’m sitting on a school bus, playing with Chuy, when this kid across the aisle starts making faces at me for playing with ‘Baby Toys.’
If I throw a plastic Chuy at him, it’s not gonna do anything but bounce off his head.
If I throw a metal Chuy at him…he’ll probably shut up for good.
Mattel, we need our toys of battle…wake up!
…and I thought I was Naughty, That was “GREAT”! Just don’t take any toy GI Joe Guns on the Bus or they (THE SCHOOL SYSTEM) will lock you up. Of course it will not be at Guan Bay, but it does look like you will get your rights read to you. Just open up your Lap Top so everything can be recorded. If you colored the hat pink, it kindof looks like Patrick Star’s upper torso area from Spongebob Squarepants…….. all you gotta do is add the head and the lower body………. π
