I know, you’re sick and tired of staring at the Mater Tall Tales – Rescue Squad Mater … staring at them in every store – all day and all night long … or maybe that just applies to 5 of you … so, okay, for the rest of us 230 million … we might not be quite ready for the next Mater Tall Tale diecast series – Megasize but it is nice each will get their own unique motif artwork …

Tony S. says he found this on the shelf at Walmart already … and as you can tell, clearly it’s Burnt Cannonball Mater but not labeled as such.
The top photo is clearly a prototype photo as the blister holder is not even in the packaging – it would seem the Megasize packaging features the “Burnt” version.
So the “clean” version will not follow in the naming scheme of the Lightning McQueen’s (burnt or clean)?

And yes, more or the actual shelf arrival of Mater Tall Tales should definitely be in the next few weeks as the Walmart diecast reset is next week and more have shipped from Mattel’s warehouse.
CASE B & CASE C Mater Tall Tales assortment coming … but for the most part, still just shipping Rescue Squad Mater diecasts for the next month.

i’m always reductant to buy the cars that have a little variant, such as burnt, face expression or small object like impound and cone. FYI their price is Malaysia is almost 4x~6x of what americans are paying 😐
But since i’ve already been collecting so much of cars, guess i have to just follow the spirit of ‘gonna catch em all’
(MET: Hey, at least you’re not trying to collect in Canada, the farthest reach on Earth 🙂 🙁 ).

I would think the “burnt” version will probably be the correct version when they are released to retail. The clean version in a multipack maybe? The pic above is probably a prototype.
Is anyone else disappointed at the fact that Nurse Kori is shown on her package as wearing a mask, yet the car itself has no mask?
The picture in the bubble is not Nurse Kori…it is actually Nurse Mia or Tia.

The posted pic is not the same as what is on eBay. Auctions are showing Cannonball mater with burn marks. It will be interested to see if there is a variant.
One of the auctions mentions that the “loose” Cannonball Mater is an early prototype….if that’s true, the later releases may be the smoke-covered Mater seen here:

When you see the two versions, both labeled Cannonball Mater, it’s confusing, to say the least.
i’ve been having really good luck finding the first round of cartoons at tru…i have found both 4 pks, all the mega sized, and have been able to get all the singles except for the orderlys so far. not sure if they are needed by anyone or not but i can try to pick up some more if anyone wanted me to..let me know.

I know the List is around here somewhere, but are there more singles and Mega sized in the Rescue Squad Mater line? The pictures on the back and what not indicate that we have them all…but all know how decieving that can be?
I think between the 5 singles, 3 mega-sized and 2 four-packs, that this is all we have from Rescue Squad Mater.
Obviously there are always the SDCC and Blu-Ray variants.
Only thing we haven’t seen was Dr.Mater with Mask up (or down…opposite of the 4-pack Dr.Mater) but someone posted that the one at SDCC may have only been a prototype which may or may not reach production. There was also a 3rd Burnt MQ variant at SDCC but no one needs another MQ, right?
My tally is 20 Cars (counting Pittys as 2, and 4 variants for RS Mater) for the Rescue Squad Mater series.

I have a question… Is there going to be a clean Cannonball Mater and a dirty one? The one I picked up at Wal-Mart is not clean at all, like the pic in this post. It looks like he just jumped through the “Ring of FIRE!!!!” (Sorry, Nemo reference there). Just wondering.
Seeing how the dirty one is in Mega sized, my guess is the clean one will be in the 4-pack.
These are showing up on ebay from Texas. Time to start looking for me is now.

Got lucky and did it except for Cannonball!
My son found the singles today in San Antonio TRU. All 5 single packs. I found the two 4 car box sets. Add in the 3 cars in Ransburg set, and the three megas Amb, Chopper RS Mater . So now complete!
Total of 4 Maters, all different. Yikes, have gone over the edge. 20 cars. The burnt mqueen in the 4 pack has the most sad expression.

It’s pretty cheeky calling him Megasize, it just looks like standard size Mater with a helmet, yet the price tage is a lot more. In the UK the megasize are about 2.5 times the price of regular singles so we will be hit hard.

I am not very happy with the prices over here in the US either. I just found the Doctor Mater 4 pack. I was a little irritated when I the final price including tax of $25.00 sunk in. I know that is better than the UK, but seriously…$6.25 a car? that is a bit overboard.
Converted to US dollars, the RSM singles cost $6.40 over here in Canada.
Still waiting for Rescue Mater to hit Target or WM here since I missed TRU. Mater the Greater is going to be sweet!
