With TRU, buyer beware, you may order those guys, but get something completely different. Especially considering I don't think anyone has reported finding either of these guys in the wild at TRU.

Nope, I've never seen anything newer than Carlo at TRU. Order online and you might end up with 2 Maters.

I did find them int he wild at TRU…and i just noticed that they are the straight cars…without the side cuts…same background though…

Very interesting, so we have packaging variants of Mel and HH LMQ singles now?

Found Mel ITW @ Walmart, HH LMQ @ TRU in Marietta, GA and they had LOADS of them!

My 2 cents; every on-line order we have placed with TRU has come through just fine. Only Kmart has a real problem advertising one item then shipping another.
Our local TRUs have/had Mel and HHPC on the pegs several times.

I went to TRU anyway today because I had a one day 20% off coupon. The only singles they had were LMQ. Among them all I did find one HHLMQ! Also grabbed a one-piece LMQ. COuldn't use the 20% off coupon though, since they were "on sale".

Being relatively new to collecting CARS (since the release of Cars 2) for my son who is 3, I was worried after my post that my order wouldn't come as expected from TRU but thankfully I received my items as anticipated. We are openers and play with our collection so the condition of the cards aren't an issue with us; but, to ease the minds of true collectors looking for mint cards, both of ours were in excellent shape with no inventory stickers. I also noticed that HH McQueen's card had the slight indentions in the side but the sides of the Mel Dorado card were straight.
Thanks to everyone on the site for their knowledge and tips . . . now if we could only find a few of the two packs we are missing like Security Finn!!
