Ok, I have a probably-dumb question to ask… I thought I bought several of the Kmart rubber tire cars for my son last year, but now I can't tell which ones out of the hundreds of cars are those. I THOUGHT feeling the tires would be the obvious way, but the more tires I felt, the more I questioned myself. The only car I'm certain about is Gaspirin, as my son took all 4 tires off of that one and I found them in his room. Definitely (synthetic) rubber!

We have been collecting since my boy was born in 2007, but I only became obsessive about it once my girls grew out of their MLP & Strawberry Shortcake collecting. I have a collecting gene in my DNA, so now my focus is on these. Bought all the Take Five guides, of course, but haven't had time to read all of them yet… Just sorted through our mini adventures collection so far!Laugh

Try rolling the cars through a dusty area, and if the wheels catch dust, it's rubber.

Or you could roll the cars on a bumpy surface (like a brick), and if you hear little to no noise, it's probably rubber.

Hope that helped! Smile

I second the dust suggestion. My sons cars with rubber tires catch every piece of lint and dust they can find lol.

I think your son already answered your question — if you're able to begin pulling the tires off the wheels then they're rubber.  Also, plastic tires look shiny when the Car is turned over and rubber ones don't.

If you want to have some fun with your son while figuring out which racers do and don't have rubber tires I would suggest using a curved track, like the Dinoco 400 Track Set, the Lightning Fast Speedway, or even the El Materdor Track Set.

The racers with plastic tires will slide around the curves and any with rubber tires will tend to grip and not make the turns.

thanks for the suggestions! Glad to see it wasn't something super obvious like the word "rubber" stamped somewhere on the bottom! Wink  Although the fact that only the rubber tires can come off is pretty obvious, I guess… Anyway, we will try all the suggestions this evening. We started organizing the cars using the TF guides last night, and now I can't wait to get home and work on it some more. How old am I??

yep, I'm already selling off surplus Care Bear and Shortcake items to fund purchasing the HTF Cars stuff off of ebay. Currently working on getting Oliver Lightload and Barry Diesel… EXPENSIVE! But I have no other real vice, so what the hey!!

Always check Amazon first Wink

He's $19.99. This is actually the same place I got him from about a month ago and the price hasn't changed so it's definitely a great deal.
