This handmade case and assortment was given as a thanks by Disney to the Mattel die cast team for their
hard work in making the line a monster hit. The case contains the first 21 die cast releases (they skipped
other color versions of Ramone, Tractor and Stanley as a statue). There’s also no Sarge – probably
assembled at the time of the recall so it was hard to scrap one up.
The Mattel Matchbox "Moving Parts" Die Cast line is pretty nice at its price ... with inflation and other costs tacked on, most 1:64 die cast lines are now $4,99 to $8.99 and higher! The fabled Hot Wheels line was $.99 for about 50 years without a change in price but now, the are 25% higher! For these to be $2.99 with moving parts, nice sculpts and solid metal is a great deal
There is a second box of the 20th Anniversary decal CARS at Walmart. It has 4 of the 5 CARS in he Ross Store set but instead of Sarge, you get Fillmore in the WM Box Set. Thanks "Zhengyang L" for the heads up & photo.
