Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: The Super Chases of 2013 Are Now "Mainline" Releases

For those of us who were there at the dawn of the Super Chase era back in 2013 ... some have returned in the Mainline releases, notably just "Flash" (aka:Jan Flash Nilssen) - now, only listed as Flash Nilssen. It is really a much better die cast. In addition to the eyelid line, there is "carbon fiber" look all over his body and the mould on the back spoiler has more sharp detailing instead of a softer blob of plastic from 2013. The paint job all around is better and the color on the spoiler is also better. It is also a slightly darker blue versus the older powder blue - all and all, a variant and a much better production variant ...

For those who have noticed, the Mainnline production has moved back to China but unlike the last go around in China, production here matches the excellent casting and detailing from the Thailand productions ones in the past 3-5 years.

How "Flash" looked as a Super Chase in 2013.

And the card in Swedish that was released in the US.

As we used to close, "Collect 'Em All."

Nice that these new casts are higher quality. People went through a lot to get those super chases back in the day.

Flash & co. were all 2012 releases - they ditched the Cars 2 branding for 2013. The 2013 Super Chases were Hiroaki, Takeshi, Yukio

3 Super Chases have been re-released this year (all are already out):

  • Flash Nilsson

  • Memo Rojas Jr.

  • Morgan Martins (Cars 3 Super Chase in 2017 - the 2026 re-release was resized to fit single blister and is the exact same scale as last year's Race & Rescue Morgan)
