I wonder if this means that they made these final Final Lap molds and and then discontinued the line, or if they are forthcoming releases for 2012?

Probably both. I think they were going to be released, but they didn't have enough time to get here. Maybe they'll be back, but with no Target within 2 hours from my home, I probably won't see them. Frown

Target doesn't appear to have any intent on reverting back to Cars 1 … or the Toons line.  Just pegs and pegs of non-selling Cars 2 items.  We actually have overflow in several Targets out here because they didn't have space in the aisle to put all of the end cap stuff when they needed to ditch the Cars 2 endcaps… (shows you how little is selling)

Will these now be made knowing that they will go to resellers, or is there going to be a major change a-comin' with the big 3 retailers?  I would love to see them go backwards, but I can't see the Mattel egos letting that happen.  Maybe a Matty exclusive set or something to round out the Final Laps.  Who knows
