OK Brady is turning 5 on the 20th of this month. I think it is time for a slot car track and what better themed track is better than Cars?!?!?! Has anyone had any experiences or done any extensive research on Cars 2 themed slot car tracks? I think it needs to be Cars 2, as he loves Francesco (Fran Sansisco in his words). Keep in mind that even though I will love playing it with him, he is the main operator and I do have to keep this thing reasonable (wives…). I looked at the Charge Ups, the $40 Target slot car set, as well as some of the $80 Carrera stuff. I personally would love to have the Carrera stuff. Is it too much for him to handle? Is there a better choice out there? I think the Charge Ups will be boring for him since he has played with the old Dinoco 400 set for a couple years now.

Need HELP in Indiana!!!

I have the $40 slot track set from Target, my 3yr old LOVES it and it is very easy to control. The carrera set is by far the nicest and it has the upside down loop. You can also order more racers online on their website. The set I got is more like the old fashioned slot track sets with the smaller cars, but I havent found anywhere online to biy additional racers. My recommendatipn is that the $40 set is great but if you dont mind spending the extra $25 then you have more options with the Carrera set. Plus with your son being 5 not 3 like mine, he should do very well with the Carrera set

Thanks for the replies. I am affraid that the shake and Go track will be collecting dust quickly. He has other Shake and Go's and they did not get played with long. I will weigh the options and probably start with $40 track and if he really gets into it, upgrade to the Carrera. But if I know me, and I do, if both are sitting in front of me I will get the Carrera.

Thanks again.
