Just made a special trip to the Disney Store to get one…it's huge! Can't wait to set it up and put Tony alongside like Micky did. Gotta watch those sticker eyes, but my store had four to choose from, and at least you can see them through the packaging, unlike the Mattel playsets.

At 30% off, it rings up at under $30. Nice oil-staining effect on the ramps…and they're smart to include the crane. Wouldn't have bought it without him. Can't wait to set up the diecast cars…may even pick up the gun-shooting Finn two-pack. Will also be great when Mugsy is released!

Just set it up…it's AMAZING! Very nicely done. The plastic cars are Disney scale, so the Mattel diecast look even better. Consider this one!

Here's a photo of my set-up: "Finn arrives in time to save poor Leland!" Waiting to be contacted to add it to Mattel's diorama auction…

I think so, Corinne…my three-year-old nephew has a Disney Store Handy Manny crane playset that's very brittle…this one is much more sturdy. The platforms are a tough PVC-type plastic and the crane seems a whole lot more rugged. In fact, I hope to pick him up one for Christmas before the sale is over.

Our local Disney Store finally got some of these shelved today and the boys have been playing with it all afternoon. (so much for waiting for Christmas)

It works a bit differently than the Tokyo set that we got last month. There are no keys embedded into the oil rig, just two "trap door" push buttons in the floor of the upper level, one says Grem's line and one says Acer's. (no matter who drives over the switch in the floor) The "flame" on top lights up, it has its own coin battery separate from the voice box. You just push the flame down to turn on, then push down again to turn off. The set comes with three crummy 'key' cars with internal launchers.

It is a nice size for two small boys to play with, still a bit unsteady for my liking, we might glue it all together. Also took a while to assemble, the instructions are pretty bad. The crane is very nice, the elevator is almost useless. I wish all the pieces did not look like such cheap plastic. This set would be a great start for someone with a lot of time to use as a base for a much larger customized and painted rig… twenty of those would be very impressive. Laugh

Yeah…I kept looking for page 2 of those directions! They kind of just end…then you're on your own.

I could see it all gluing together…I used contact cement to "square" up the derrick, which was a little warped in a few places, but not too noticeably.

Bought another today for my nephew for Christmas. It's that nice, and the sale was possibly over today (?).

I realized what the issue was with my derrick, which I ended up gluing with contact cement to square it up: try to get one in-store, and be sure other pieces haven't come loose and gone up into the derrick to warp it. About half were like that, and some were pretty bad. There's no correcting it if they're bad, and it will really affect the look of the set.

No you can use either  20 % coupon  or the other 25% coupon . You also have to take another set off the shelf to adjust the price if you already purchased it. I paid $23.00 for the oil rig payset with the 25% off coupon. Kiss
