I know the Disney store set is plastic and the originals are diecast. What about the current Walmart line? How does one verify a loose toy being listed online?

On the I-Screamer, I could always tell by the tire hub colors, but I was never sure on the other vehicles in the DS set.

After all, gas can is my middle name … eh, not really

Also, if the seller's photos are crisp enough, the internal hub of the wheel has a different (simplified) bolt pattern on the plastic cars.

The Disney Store plastic Monster Trucks are smaller than the Mattel ones and the Diecast Disney Store trucks are larger than the Mattel ones.

Thank you all for your help. I've come to the conclusion that the easiest way is by the eyes. In general it appears that the plastics all seem to look off to the side (or in the case of the I-screamer have googly-eyes). The diecasts seem to tend more towards looking forward, or "angry eyes".
I could be wrong on this, but that's what it appears to me.

For the record, the Disney Store "Paddy O'Concrete" and "I-Screamer" are much nicer than the Mattel ones (and actually, Mattel doesn't make Paddy).  Closer to what I perceive as correct scale, too.  I wish they had made a large DS version of Dr. Feel Bad, Captain Collision, etc.
