Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: Retail Cleaning …

Look what “Wraukin” found …

wraukin find

Yes, lenticulars are sort of back but no, this one is not a re-release. 🙂

This is what happens when someone is like a squirrel and hides a CAR he intends to come back later for but as a squirrel-brain forgets where he hid it and 3 years later, when they move the rack, they discover hidden merchandise.

Or someone tried to hide it in the backroom and it fell down a rabbit hole … or when the the pallet driver gets loose and knocks things into a crevice …

So, Fred probably has a good story to tell if he could only talk through his bad teeth.

Thanks, “Wraukin” for the fun pic.

That’s pretty awesome! I just found a Becky wheelin at my target yesterday. Not as cool as Fred but still a good find 🙂

3 days ago I found Vern, Flo, DJ, The King lenticulars from 2009/2010 at Wegmans – also Brand New mater and Cruisin McQueen, which I left. Looked like a case of old lenticulars there. I posted a picture on Cars the Toys. These were definitely recent arrivals, as I check that store often. Seems like we may see these at more stores soon? Or maybe this is a coincidence.

Not as cool as this, but after xmas I found Nurse Kori x 3, Lug & Nutty and Orderly Pitties at my Wal-mart. Just makes you wonder what lurks in those stockrooms!!

    This is in no way realted to cars, but here’s a policy I wish ALL stores would follow;
I went to our local Home Depot yesterday to buy 4 matching hangers for some wind chimes in our garden. I found 3 identical ones in the style and price range I was looking for which was “under $5 each” and asked for assistance in finding a fourth one. The associate scanned several including one odd one which scanned at a price of i cent! I asked him why that price and he said it was because “we didn’t have a home for it”. So I bought 3 for $3.98 each and one slightly different one for a penny!

No hassle for them and I’m a happy customer !

I would LOVE to find that Deluxe case somewhere here in PA.

My coolest find was a fresh case of 1990 Kenner Batmobiles found on the shelf at TRU sometime in the late 90’s. Amazingly, they still rang up.

Funny remind of the time I walked into Kmart last year and found a chase Fillmore with gas cans. The packaging was beatup, so someone must have found it somewhere in the back and put it out.

I wonder if there are any 1977 Kenner Star Wars toys still out there somewhere?

  • Tedsallis says:

Yep, probably from under a shelf. Whenever things get REAAAAALLY slow or I see a store doing a reset with lots of cleared out space I’ll dive in and start lifting up bottom shelves. You can find some amazingly old stuff that way. I just dig it ALL out and leave it on the shelf for them to decide how to deal with it. It stinks though if you find anything you want because it can be a hassle getting them to search out a price on it as they purge items out of the system after a time and “zero them out”. Still you can get some great deals as they will often sell them to you at the last CLEARANCE price!

I see this kind of thing at Toys R Us all the time. 3-4 year old toys just show up on the shelf one day.

It’s always nice to find old stock in a store… Sometimes it’s hard to know where it came from… like the time I found 3 Desert Back singles at a Kohl’s store.

I love when that happens! Serendipity 🙂
