Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2 Diecast: Case D Singles Arrive in the US

It looks like the CASE D singles diecast case has arrived in the US also …

There are some Europe card & open photos from yesterday (of Paint Shop Ramone, DJ with Flames, & Krate (the luggage truck) so I won’t repeat those – but JMDL Toys has some great new photos to add:

Wingo Flames

It’s not only nice to see Wingo back but also with Flames and NOT a chase so 2 in every case! Security Guard Finn makes his first appearance on a single card – previously only available in the hard to find 2-packs … and thanks to the extra nice photos from JMDL Toys, we can see that Security Guard Finn is an UNIBODY VARIANT UPGRADE so completists will need another Security Guard Finn (or upgraders).

Security Gaurd Finn

UPDATE – The Dexter Hoover with Checkered Flag is CORRECT and the same as the last release. Thanks for the correction “Filmore1234” and “BMW.” Clearly someone broke into my house and switched all the flags around – there can be NO other explanation.  :-p

Dex Front2
So, all is good – if you don’t have a checkered flag Dexter Hoover, this looks to be the exact same. The crease lines are all in the same place as before so no unibody upgrade.

Dexter Front

Thanks for the great photos, JMDL Toys!

So to recap CASE D:

Releases numbering more than 1 in the case are shown below with a number in each box.

New releases are shown in red: DJ with Flames, Wingo with Flames, Krate Rainson-Wash (Luggage Truck) & Paint Shop Ramone (with paint gun).

First ever release as a single & UNIBODY UPGRADE: Security Guard Finn.

First release since 2010: Dexter Hoover with Checkered Flag.

First release on CARS 2013 Themes card motif: Lewis Hamilton, & Shu Todoroki. (presumably no changes from last release since all racers except Raoul have gotten the all-metal unibody upgrade but if you have not upgraded yet, here’s your chance).

Oddball Variant Erik Laneley – has the Fiat trademark issue been resolved in this release on the chassis underneath?

The others re-releases probably do not have any additional changes but until I get the case, there’s always the chance …
