The Kids Are Alright … Cute, Brave & Scary

A little scary but really too cute!

“A tenacious toddler from Hamelin, Germany gave his mother a terrific shock when he bicycled 3-miles across town by himself to visit his sick grandmother. “He is a very determined, confident little boy. He was worried about his grandmother and wanted to do something about it,” So, with his backpack filled with his favorite candy, Noah hopped on his toy bicycle and set off to see his ailing granny who is in the hospital. Noah’s frantic mother, having discovered his mysterious disappearance, had also called the police in search of her son. “He didn’t really know the way to the hospital. But he blamed that on his bike for not being fitted with SAT NAV,” said a police spokesperson.”

You can read the rest at Huffington Post.

And this 7-year old has more guts … he stepped between his baby brother who was crawling towards a rattlesnake to take the bite …

You can check out the rest and a video at CBS2 – LA.

Little bro – you owe me big time!

And if you did not know this … “Doctors say if a person is bitten they should immediately go to the hospital for anti-venom treatment.”

(versus going to Krispy Kreme to get some more donuts and a stop at Lowe’s to get more fertilizer? Anyone here get bit by a snake and your top thought is not going to the hospital?)

I remember being about 7 or 8 years old, walking home by myself, and letting myself in the apartment with the key around my neck. I was home alone for about an hour until my older sister got home. That was 1982. My daughter is now 8 and while I think she could do those things without getting lost or in trouble, I wouldn’t ever dare consider it. Not with all the dirtbags out there.

We don;t need to get into why and how many times the police came to my house….

I walked home from my first (and only) day of preschool. My Mom was fit to be tied when she saw me come around the corner. That was the early 1970’s, but if it happened today, we’d have owned the school now!
