Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2 Diecast: Crew Chiefs Actually Shelved
Heads up – readers are finding the first wave of crew chiefs 2-packs actually on the shelves after 6-8 weeks.
NEW – Fillmore with headset. (Lightning is a re-release – I KNOW! Hard to believe!)
And Francesco’s Crew Chief Guiseppe Motorsosi (but no names, please!)
And Carla’s Crew Chief Cruz Besouro (but only his best friends call him that).
No John Lassetire?

FAIR WARNING to newbies – do not try and order these online. Either buy them yourselves or the TAKE5 FORUM is your best bet.
Apparently most that have found them have found them with bent cards. Most likely they arrived on the Mattel tray (on a dump that KM corporate claimed there was NO WAY any stores were getting these 🙄 ).
When they ship or are stored by stacking things on them, the middle of the box tends to get bowed from the weight of some/lots of things resting on them.
So, this first shipment might be the opener ones and wait on the next shipment for John Lassetire? and the Citroen Crew Chief.
If anyone is keeping track:
First arrived in France in early July.
Then Australia in early August.
Though one shipment seems to have arrived in the US in July.
They have at least made it from the back room to the floor after nearly 2 months …

Does anyone have any extra crew chief 2 packs that they’re interested in selling or trading? I have Carla’s set and Jeff Gorvette’s set, but that’s all I can find in NJ! My 3 1/2 year old son is obsessed with Cars, Cars 2 etc… He knows every car that he has (well over 150) by name and tells me each car that he is missing while we watch each movie 3 times a day! He loves the pit crews, and they’re so hard to find! Please help!

If these cases say “DO NOT PUT OUT UNTIL MAY 16 2011”, my Kmart most likely mistook that for May of 2016 at 20:11 hours.
Someone at my store must have read this, as I finally found them Saturday evening! (just the Carla case)

I heard they give you a test when you apply to Kmart but if you pass it you are ineligible for hire.
Just picked up 3 Carla packs (Philly suburbs) – PLENTY of LM/Filmores on the pegs (and, of course, TONS of Finn McMissiles on the singles pegs). Cards were pretty good. Stupidly priced, as Tom pointed out – but I like the girls since there are so few…
Met, I have heard that Raoul’s Crew Chief name would be Bruno Motoreau…

Wait, are US readers finding Francesco’s Crew Chief on the pegs, or just Case A (Carla Chief pack/Fillmore Headset pack)? If so, what region of the country?
Found the Carla/LMQ case at my Kmart yesterday. The price was ridiculous, thought Kmart was a discount store? Their 2 packs cost more than TRU. WM and Target are well over 20% cheaper! What the phone booth?!?
Full case of Carla/Carla CC and Mc/Fill shelved today in Albuquerque cards were 8.5 out of 10.

Woo-hoo! Found Carla/Cruz & LMQ/Fillmore at my local Kmart this evening! No sign of Guiseppe or Lassetire, though. Will have to check the other store tomorrow.
Cards were bent in the same manner as others have described.
Just checked three K-Marts in Denver. Nada. I’ve yet to see any crew chief packs.
Once againnnnn… NOTHING FOR CANADA .. this is why so many Canadian Collectors left Disney Cars collecting .. SAD SAD ..
Raoul’s crew chief is named Bruno Motoreau…and he’s cool! (Though less so as a diecast, but we’ll see! If that’s more than just a prototype photo, it looks like they won’t be recessing his or Leland’s headlights, which is too bad.)
I’m just noticing they’ve recessed Giuseppe’s…what a difference it makes! Also, the dulled finish in his photo is really nice, but the packaging photo makes it look likes he’s super bright and shiny. Looking forward either way…he made a nice wooden car!
Guess I need to go take a look. When I saw this post, for some reason I assumed that “shelved” meant “not gonna happen!”
BTW, how come Guiseppe Motorosi has a green stripe in the package, but not in the close-up image? Variants?

Nothing here yet — regular 2-packs continue to grow new mold on the old mold, so there wouldn’t be room anyway.

My local Kmart finally put out the first 4 Carla/8 Fillmore case. The same case I found in July just 15 miles south of me. Today I am going to check a different Kmart north of me just to see what case they put out. Fun times!
I’ve only seen the Carla/Carla Crew Chief and McQueen/Fillmore with headset of 3 of 12 Kmart stores… and have only seen them restocked at one store.
There were 4 Carla and 8 Fillmore 2 packs in the first case of 12… Perhaps they got smart and came out with a case of 3 of each?
And yes, don’t order online at Kmart.com… other than the Kmart Collector Event cases, what you receive is more than likely not going to be what you ordered.

Lots of these, especially the Filmore set, in oz. I’ve yet to see Carla with crew chief though.

2 of the 4 Kmarts in Western Mass have had these. It will be interesting to see which ones get the 2nd wave first.
