Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Gaskits Launchers at “Mattel”

If you’re looking for the Gask-it launchers and you don’t live far from a Mattel Retail Store –

John H. sends up photos from the El Segundo store …

For those still looking for the MattyCollector McQueen with rubber tires, they have them at this store also.

They are “regular priced,” but they offered discounts of up to 50% on sales that go on all the time. Each store has its own discounts so if you live near one or plan to go check it out, there are days that are better than others.

NOTE: Call ahead as the store closest to you might not stock these. They DO NOT do phone-mail orders. In store only.

You can check out our original post – stores & addresses linked here – Southern Cal, Wisconsin & Texas & Ontario, CA (selection varies).

Thanks John H.

Nothing in my Mattel store today. Same old lent cr..p.

(MET: maybe they will order it for you?)

I have a good feeling that these were probably produced a long time ago, sat in a warehouse somewhere and someone just realized… “Um, Cars 2 is almost out and we still have all this Cars 1 inventory!”

I found 1 of each at 1 of 9 Dayton (Ohio) area Walmart stores on Sunday…

The production dates for Gask-Its and Trunk Fresh Lightyear Launchers:

      Gask-Its Lightyear Launcher – 3350 EAA
Trunk Fresh Lightyear Launcher – 3430 EAA

So Gask-Its was produced on December 1 (day 335 of 2010 at the EAA factory) and Trunk Fresh was produced on December 9… Thanks to BMW for her help on explaining the date code.

That Matty Collector 1:24th Mcqueen is a nice car and looks even better with the clear cover on it.

The rest of the line, the Doc and Mater kinda suck. I had a few of them and sold them off.

Um, I found the Gask-Its and Trunk Fresh Lightyear Launchers at Walmart in upstate New York Sunday night…just thought I’d mention.

  • blake says:

any chance you would mail one out?

  • rpag says:

Is that McQueen the JL Signature 1:55 McQueen? If so I want two! How can we get in touch with John H?

    • John says:

The Matty Lightning is 1:24 scale. (like an old plastic car model kit)
I’m afraid that trip to the outlet store won’t be repeated any time soon; they are only open M-F and I work full time. Just happened that that morning Met had posted the launchers as having been seen in Europe, and here they were an hour later!
