Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: New Lenticulars Aussie First – Must Be Earth’s New Rotation

“Andrew T.” sends us his nice finds from the only continent-country, Australia.

The latest listed lenticulars have arrived in Australia … well, they are closer to the factories but maybe it’s the changing Earth’s magnetic fields (run for your lives! … or outrun everything in a tiny propeller plane like in the film, 2012).

Another fan!

Is that ultra realism with the sun discolored LM flag? 🙂

But nice ultra details with the very accurate tail lights …

And the CHASE …

Does that yellow snow advice hold up in the Himalayas?

Because pink salt from the Himalayas is quite nice.

Thanks again for the great pics, “Andrew T.”

I’m guessing the AUS case is different than the listed for the US one with Wilmar Flatz but is it?

(As noted, the US listing seems suspiciously packed full of CHASE and NEW CARS … is it going to a major retailer?)

Just found these at Wal-Mart! However, I was the 2nd person there since all the Chase’s were gone. There were at least 4 Marilyn’s and at least 4 Wilmar’s, so does that mean I missed 8 Chase Cars???

  • Nitroapolis says:

This is BS. When I think of Yeti with Snow Cones, I think of him ON THE CARD WITH THEM AS WELL. But no, Mattel is too scared because they already F!!… it up the first time he was released on card when they didn’t add the plow.

  • Man-I-Fold says:

Thanks for the great pics Andrew T. Cheers!

Another Aussie scores. Checked our local K-Mart on the way home tonight, after reading this blog, scored both of these, and Marilyn, week before scored Mater with lamp, Marlon and McQueen with cone. This is despite the pitiful amount of space allocated to Die-cast Cars, (about 12 pegs), no Deluxes, Haulers, Toons or Classics.
Been collecting openers for the son (or me), plenty of gaps in the middle.
Did get quite pissed when they pulled Sarge (we had it on laybuy for Xmas), never seen one again.

PS in Melb, for those wanting to know

    Dear Mattel,

Thank you for taking hours of my life from me, who knows how much gas, and probably over $2,000 trying to keep my collection up to date. You kept me busy for the past year and a half about once every 2 weeks or so when new items would show up on the shelves. However, since September…you’ve left me empty. I cut down driving to check the pegs to once a week. Yup, same Final Laps since September… yup, same haulers since 2009… yup, the same already picked through lenticulars. So I then cut it back to every 2 weeks…then 3 weeks. I finally went back today only to see the same merchandise and decided our relationship must end. I’m afraid our relationship must end. I had even changed my mind about you. I was going to collect Cars 2… but I’m afraid none of the characters really excite me.

I’ve been saying the same thing for months now. Same old stuff on the shelves, same old wear and tear on the car driving from one store to another hoping, no HOPING, you’d find something new, but NO! It’s time to pack it in and move on to something else. I too, am not excited about Cars 2. Haven’t seen anything thus far that even comes close to the original line. How much you want to bet these new cars will be heavy on the plastic and light on the metal?

    Chris with tray:

See I told you there was an asteroid !!!

  • Jack says:

Wow Tim. Thanks for the link. As you say if true this is big news. Hopefully we will get confirmation on this soon.
What a bummer this would be. 5 more months is a long time. Especially when we have already been led to believe June was a done deal. Meanwhile we have already been seeing back door Cars 2 cars and even some in package already.
This is bad if true. Sounds like Cars 2 has been a struggle so far. I figured when John Lassiter took over again everything would go smooth. Darn.

With the floods and cyclones hitting Australia, the country needs a break! Although, lenti’s may not be enough of a break.

  • Fillmore1234 says:

Of course, we are going insane for people in AUSSIE to get new LENTYS, but nobody cares when I get BYE BYE Kar at a Wal-Mart in AMERICA?!?! What the heck?? 😛

    • jestrjef says:

HAHAHAHA! Where are you? Was it the only one? Tell us, tell us!! Any to share???? 😀

      • Fillmore1234 says:

People must have cleared them out, because it was this, a Soaked Lightning McQueen, a Cho, 2 Ito Sans, a Yojimbo, and others. I live in Illinois, by the way. I wonder if JohninMissouri live close by… :)This might have been the best find for me since I found Sally with Cone and Spin Out McQueen 2 months before it was supposed to come out!

        • jestrjef says:

Congrats!! Here’s to finding enough to share!! 😀

        • Man-I-Fold says:

Wait, you’re in Illinois! Where? I’m in the Chicago area, along with at least 4 other TakeFive members. It’s been quite dismal at our Walmarts lately. Way to score! ~ Mike in Evanston

        • John in Missouri says:

I’m smack dab in the middle of Missouri, home to many, many multiples of Lightning McQueen, Dinoco McQueen, Radiator Springs McQueen, Dirt Track McQueen, Cruisin’ McQueen, McQueen with Cone, Whitewalls McQueen, and Vern (probably a cousin of Lightning, so I’m renaming him Vern McQueen).

          • Fillmore1234 says:

No I live in Quincy, about 6 hours from Chicago and 45 minutes from Hannibal, MO, along the Great Mississippi. Also, I went back to my Wal-Mart, and guess what? 2 MORE BYE BYE KARS ON THE SHELVES!!! So if you want to drive 3-6 hours to get a Bye Bye Kar and sadly find that possibly some other Collector in the area grabbed it before you got there, don’t blame it on me! And it’s just Bye Bye Kar, I don’t know why our Wal-Mart is slowly releasing the Case when our Toons Shelves are more than half empty…

(and no, I did not buy the 2.)
(And also, BYE BYE Kar is really great, a LOT of metal in this baby. Probably one of my heaviest Cars in my collection, besides the Megasized, Haulers etc.)

            • Man-I-Fold says:

Ahh, Quincy. Many childhood memories of crossing the Mississippi there – beautiful! My family used to live around there. Love the caves and Mark Twain stuff in Hannibal too.

              • Fillmore1234 says:

Wow you have been here?? Cool! it’s nice to know someone who has been here on this website. And by the way, I’m going back to the Wal-Mart where I found the Bye Bye Kar again tomorrow. On the latest blog post i’ll say if it’s there or not. Maybe I could get the case contents if they actually decided to be a man and lift a box onto a cart and move the thing over to the toys and unpack them and put it on the shelves. I’m also going to try to get pics sent to MET, but since I couldn’t find my camera, I had to use my DSi. Is putting pictures from that to a computer the same as putting pics from a camera to a computer??

  • COSY5161 says:

    WHAT’S WRONG WITH THAT?

  • sirtip says:

Last night I was on my way home from work ,something told me to run by walmart to check the cars, there were 1 miles meat truck 1 leroy traffiz with snow tires and 1 i_screamers fan.

  • TarheelBill says:

WM…just in time for the Easter sales push. 😉

  • Matias Sosa says:

i would prefer the yeti in megazice :S

  • Knightrider says:

Can I just point out that from the pictures shown it looks like those are the US cardbacks rather than International releases!

    • Jeaks says:

All Cars in Australia have been on the ‘US’ cardback since Chase LMQ with Rusteze can. Since we seem to be getting first we now call them ‘Aussie’ cardbacks.

Andrew T what state are you in and what store did you find these in?

  • buckland-blowouts says:

Canada next!?!?!? Oh please oh please oh please!!!!!

  • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

    Awesome scores Aussies!!!

  • cac1959 says:

So both Australia and the UK have gotten in newer lenticular cases than the US… it should not be so difficult to collect Cars…

Thanks for the photos… congratulations on your scores.

  • NascarFan says:

Yeap. We even have an asteroid headed for us too. Saw it on Yahoo news this morning

  • jestrjef says:

NICE! Sooooo Wilmar Flattz should be Classic Eyed soon too … right?? 😀
