Sears Essential Back to Kmart in PA + Kmart Store Closings

If you live in or near Bethlehem Township, PA, and you’re a CARS Collector (or HW Collector), the news might be good for you …

Sears Essentials is reverting BACK to Kmart.
Parent company Sears Holding Corp., which owns both retail brands, said conversion of the Bethlehem Township, Pa. location should be complete by April 25, when a soft opening for Kmart is planned.

Liquidation of Sears Essentials begins Monday, Feb. 7 though some carryover of products to the Kmart store is expected.

Freely said the store will close for a few days in preparation of the re-opening. A grand opening is set for May 14.

A three week soft opening? Well, they should be ready for CARS Day #6 in June, 2011.

Also, the Love Parks, IL Sears Essentials store (formerly Kmart) is closing … The Sears Essentials store on Riverside in Loves Park will be closing in April.

The former K-Mart was converted into a Sears Essentials store back in 2005.

Really? American Fork, UT store has been closed for a few years. Having Target next door didn’t help whatsoever…

Don’t have Sear’s Essentials down our way, but most of our K-Marts (Super K’s) are dumps. They are old stores, under staffed and not the cleanest. I know the few times I go in them, you could count the total number of customers on two hands!

Plainfield, NJ Kmart has Store closing signs up now…

sad… they were a great store for Kmart Days… others in the area are a zoo and not the event is poorly run…

I have a Sears Essentials 1/4 mile from my house. They do have a very small tay section, but it NEVER gets anything new. They did end up getting KD5 Cars like two weeks AFTER the event. That was the first batch of new cars they had gotten in close to two years!!
