Merry Christmas ALL!

Hope your Christmas Day is full of glee, eggnog, glad tidings, fun, memories and maybe even some CARS!

And to all a good cheer!

And a great note from Jonathan:

We decorated a 4-ft tree using Cars car characters for the local Festival of Trees which auctions trees and donates all the money to the Children’s Hospital here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our tree was titled Piston Cup Christmas. It had over 60 cars characters including Piston Cup racers, Haulers, Pit Crews, and a race track. The “race” to the top ended with King, Chick, and LMQ chasing a gold Piston Cup from the Disney Store. It was quite a hit at the Festival. Although it was short in stature, it was the only Cars tree and lots of young Cars fans really got into it.

We received a nice contribution of loose cars from Kevin at Cars Cares. In addition, Kevin (nascarbronchofan), Chris (a local Utah collector) and Amber (Mia Senorita) also sent me cars. We used almost all of them on the tree or below in the race track. We did include a Cars plastic case that holds 50 loose cars, but the familly that purchased it may need two of them. We don’t know exactly how much the tree sold for as the bidding is via silent auction, however, we got “inside” information that it was about $400.

Thanks again to everyone and have a wonderful holiday season!

Merry Christmas and Carsmas to all! Hope you weren’t naughty and if you were – don’t post it here!!!!

Thanks to Met and Tiz and all of you who make conversation very interesting and fun (good or bad). Please be safe and let’s all be able to wish each other Merry Christmas again next year!!

    Fantastic tree! Merry Christmas everyone!

  • Stig McQueen says:

Cool CARS tree, great cause, unique fundraiser!

Mrs. Stig wouldn’t let me get away with anything like that in the house, I’m afraid, even if I purchased it at a fundraiser. (She wouldn’t go for the Yoda tree-topper that my son wanted, either..)

I do have a CARS-themed “undertree world” again this year, though, with the McQueen and Doc Hudson slot cars from the Mattel “HO” set running around on my old AFX track. I also put together custom-made “HO” Chick Hicks and King slot cars; will post links to pix/vids later (maybe even a how-to, if I can manage to put something together). And of course, it’s populated by the Christmas CARS from the box set.

    Call it a compromise ;o)

In the gift department, the kids each got the SDCC Rescue Squad Mater set; the 7-year-old already has his open, the 13-year-old (who collects Mias and Tias) is keeping hers in the box. The 13-year-old also got the Doctor Mater set (with Nurse Mia and Tia, natch) and the Christmas Ramone (for her Ramone collection). The 7-year-old got a Dinoco pitty and Christmas McQueen and Doc.

Now watching the Phineas and Ferb Christmas special for the umpteenth time…

I am glad being here for a while.

    Joyeux Noel!!!

I love that tree and the Piston cup star is AWESOME!!!

Was lookin’ forward to givin’ our lil guy his electric race cars track for Christmas but it seems to me the 8+ sticker on it is probably sound advice to NOT give it to a 3 year old!!! (And his 1 year old terror of a sister!)

So it will have to wait a couple years – BOOHOO!!!

Other than that it looks like DOCTOR MATER will be the highlight this year!

BEST TO ALL AND TO ALL A WONDERFUL CARS ADDICTION!

  • Doctor Hudson~~Merry Christmas says:

    Merry Christmas!

  • Carol Davis says:

Wow, the tree is truly a work of art. What fun, I bet. I’d love to wake up to this on Christmas day. What an awesome idea to get a great donation.

I didn’t try putting the actual cars on my Cars Tree as I figured they would be too heavy for the branches. What did you use to tie them on?

    Merry Christmas!

    Carol

  • mia, tia and njm says:

Very nice idea. Merry Christmas everyone.

  • jclimbng says:

    Merry Christmas.

The picture above is my son, Ethan wiring individual Piston Cup racers on the tree. It’s hard to see them on the pics but we placed them all in the same direction “racing” up the tree towards the finish banner and a shiny Piston Cup. We were able to put two pit crews around the race track at the base. After the holiday, someone will be able to pull it all down and hopefully enjoy many hours of fun with the set.

This was a great project and loads of fun. I would recommend it to anyone this time of year, even if you don’t use a Cars theme. Great charity, great cause, and lots of good feelings to go around after it’s all said and done.

Thanks again to everyone who helped out.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season. Christmas morning for the kids is such a blast. Enjoy!

The Christmas Cars Tree was here in Salt Lake City, and several donations were given to Jon from Takefiveaday people.

Jon sent the Utah Disney Group and Met this note:

    Merry Christmas everybody!

Santa not very efficient. He will pass over 20 cities to get to one. Then it looks like they light him up with anti-aircraft fire.

  • Brown Fury says:

    Very cool! Merry Christmas all!

  • Mr. T says:

Yay! Let me be FIRST to say Merry Christmas!!!!

    • Jeaks says:

He who is first shall be last or at least later. The Aussies and a to & from already wished Merry Christmas on previous post.

Today is a day when too much Cars is barely enough. My 7 year old says he has run out room, so I asked if he wants to give back to Santa for another kid. Not on your nellie told me I have to put more shelves in his room.
