Got him at MACYS (of all places) on State Street in downtown Chicago (old Marshall Fields).
I about DIED at the MACY’s PRICE of $9.99 (vs. $6.49 elsewhere I assume), but I couldn’t pass him up because I hadn’t seen him anywhere else !!
They had a LOT of them on Saturday (Dec 12) in the toy dept.

Thanks to the comments on this site I found RCK at Macys of all places! Someone mentioned that they had shopped in Macys. I probably have not been in that store in 20 years, but sure enough, in the Childrens section there was a small selection of Cars characters. Thanks, folks.
My mother in law is so cool, she picked two up at Wal-Mart in Placervill Ca, last week. By the way, I must share that this post is coming from 35 thousand feet and going faster than LMQ on VirginAmerica for free, thanks to Google. Anyone need him? Looking for the new 3 pack story tellers.

Someone asked, the other day, what the visible differences are between the two Dexter Hoovers, yellow and checkered flag versions.

That would be a “no”.
Dexter with checkered flag is both ways. The 4 eyes Dexter with checkered flag comes in a 3 car gift pack and on shelves now.
Does the checkered flag go on either side of Dexter Hoover?? All the ones I’ve seen have the flag on the driver’s side — your photo has it on the passenger’s side.

While searching for several Marvel Universe action figures for my son, I found Richard Clayton Kensington hidden behind “The Thing” with black boots. Richard was the last on the highest peg behind seven action figures. In this store the Cars stuff is one aisle over. So new it did not scan. Next time I’m at that store I’ll have to diligently search similar hiding places. The store also rolled out the ‘cube’ which was still untouched. There is nothing “Chase” about those Piston Cups. There were three staring me in the face without digging deeper.
Of some concern was the Target store in Puyallup, WA (Meridian & 160th or so), which had no Final Laps, similar to three other stores. BUT, there were no tags on the pegs either. I don’t know if the staff is tired of persons asking for it, or there is something more sinister in the future- like not a Target exclusive anymore. The Targets had an overabundance of lenticulars, and, absolutely not one Christmas Car between four stores?

Nope: Not LAST! I am pleasantly surprised that the scale on this one looks about right. So many of the Mega-Sized ones look way to big, e.g., Elvis.
You really feel that Elvis is too big? He IS a motor home, after all, typically 25-30 feet for that style.

Found him at a TRU here in Tejas last night. Was hoping to find the new Mater the Greater box sets, so this was an unexpected surprise.

I was actually looking for the Sidewall Shine and Mood Springs
Haulers but nothing.
Now they did have the Big Aisle 4 Sided Shipper that had Haulers
on one side, and Toons and the Regular line on the other sides.
The Haulers(Many Wally’s and others)did have the New Background and the 12 Haulers on the shelf were the Old Background.

Try Walmart this week for this guy esp. at bigger walmarts with lots of turnover. He looks smaller than expected, IMO.

No John, I haven’t been playing with him. I am saving him for Christmas. I did almost pee my pants when I saw him. I first saw the green cube in the aisle, which was not there on Saturday. Of course, all the singles had been picked over, so I wasn’t expecting anything in the regular aisle. But to my surprise the entire new case of the OS were there and a few Soaked McQueens. I haven’t been able to get out lately due to both kids having bad cases of croup so I was really excited to find something new on my first trip out!

I really like the RCK SUV, very nicely done – another beautiful diecast gem! I do have say that my initial reaction was that he seemed a little out of scale (on the small side) but maybe that’s just because the new TJ Hummer seems gigantic and has warped my perceptions! 🙂
I threw a couple of them up on eBay yesterday and was checking to make sure the listing didn’t have any errors when Tyler looked over my shoulder and yelled out, “I NEED THAT!”
