Target has made me cranky today…first I was in the store and saw a single cousin Buford, but didn’t buy it at the 6.50 price. So I asked an associate if they had more of the 3packs in the back…They told me no, that the store was stocked the night before and if they got new ones in they would be out. Then I scanned a 3 pk & it said there were more in the stock room.. I am going back tomorrow to get someone to open it for me. I have an even better reason now…I got my Showstoppers I ordered from Target.com today, but didn’t get the Showstoppers, I got Bubba and Mater (which I already have). And the UPC sticker on it says Showstoppers (it is also covered in shrink wrap). I am trying to get a picture of it but they aren’t turning out well. I will sent Met the best one I have.
Well I got to return it and pickup the Showstoppers and Mater’s cousins at Targetthis morning. They brought out the box for me after I couldn’t find them on the shelves so I could get the Showstoppers. And I had to pick up the cousins too because I didn’t have them yet.
i’ll just buy the last one, just because of Bubba… Bad mattel has been forcing us to buy duplicates
One quibble Met, I would argue that Bubba is worth 2/3 of the price of the Storyteller 2 pack. He is definitely 2/3 of the mass!

I want Bubba too, but not if I have to buy another Brand New Mater! But it occurs to me even now as I’m writing this that I really don’t care, I’ll break down and buy it because I’m sick… somebody needs to call in an intervention…

i think mater is the wrong shade of blue
and i remember sometime i remember met saying the only time we have seen 2 piece mqueen with that speed set, not true walmart now has checkout cars and i noticed mqueen was 2 piece unless it was tar mqueen or somthing
(MET: The lenticular McQ’s are available in one mold & 2-piece versions. With the release of McQ as a Final Lap CAR, will all McQ’s be converted to 2-piecers?)
Sometimes I swear that someone at Mattel put an extra “zero” at the end of an order, and they have to get rid of the over production somehow.

And just for good measure lets make a set too that features Brand New Mater and a really cool play mat that is only available in this set. Those collectors are so gullible they’ll buy anything as long as its in a different package.

087-07-1730 but keep in mind that THAT DPCI is the same as last year’s Story Teller 3 packs, so any given Target may or may not have the newer offerings……can’t go by quantities on the computer, only visual searches will work.

I found Bubba last Wednesday totally by accident. Stopped by Camarillo Target while visiting my Mom because I forgot my toothbrush and there he was. I nearly peed and I had to hide him in the cart because he’s going under the Christmas tree.
Sadly there was only one on the pegs 🙁

The Story Tellers package artwork always shows him with no hood, which leads to confusion among collectors.
Maybe we should get some of these brand new mater pegwarmers and cut the hoods off… Or make our own custom accessories?
Wasnt there a part in the movie that mater finds his hood and puts it back on?
At the very end of the movie, as Lightning rolls up, Mater has just pulled his hood up from the canyon below.
“My hood! My hood! I haven’t seen this in 20 years!” “How’s it look?” (Sneezes and blows hood off again and back into the canyon.)
“Aw, dang.”
I took the hoods off of New Maters some time ago to use the “new” hood to fit onto Rusty Mater.
That way, I ended up with Story Tellers Mater missing his new hood, and the blue hoods for Rusty Mater.
