Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: The Other Target Has Other Kmart CARS Day CARS

The other Target has the last Kmart CARS Day CARS.

All clear on that?

Australia Target is having a (Kmart) CARS Day (Only it’s a week long) and it’s at Target, though not part of the Target we know in the US (the name is licensed).

Basically, Australia Target is getting the non-lenticular CASE K from last Spring to sell …

Though NASCAR fans might want to avert your eyes at the mistake-ridden descriptions of the blurb page ….

aus kamrt cars CU

Um, first there is no such thing as the NASCAR 600 … maybe if you add in the words Coca-Cola in front of the 600, that might make more sense … never mind that a 11-month old CARS collector will tell you that is no Darrell Cartrip-Waltrip but Mario Andretti … and of course, every 5-year will tell you you TIRES is spelled with an I … πŸ™‚

So will they change the spelling on the front of the card?

Other CARS items also on sale …

Today, it looks like the conversion rate is $1 AUS dollar is $.87 USD so $7.99 AUSD is about $6.96 USD … guess we can stop complaining about the price increase to $4.99.

Thanks for the heads up & links, Hostile Takeover Bank … and everyone else in Australia – send us pics – um, good luck having the stock in stores last a week?

the whole thing was a total joke today, I was that hopeful I was there right at opening time. (to me it seemed the only one there at that time specifically for Cars). No-one in the store new about any “cars event” and it was just the same merchandise they have had for weeks, with some of it on sale, the bulk being items other than diecasts. The cars are all the old Kmart Day 2 Cars. There were actually few left, I guess all the ebayers snapped them up, so I feel sorry for any genuine buyers who were looking forward to the event.

When I asked about the poster giveaway I was given the run around by several employess and then to have the manager of the Toy section tell me he knew nothing about it and the small display they have it all there is.

Very disappointing. Wondering if any other states has success or if this thing was an epic fail across the country?

I am not surprised HTB. The wife picked up a spare mini and Todd today at Target Morley. All the racer rubber wheels were there and Dazza Waltrip aka Mario as well but his wheels were not rubber.

Target Perth CBD had sweet FA of the Kmart cars. There were 3 packs and I did get HTB Chase Piston Cup but only 1 sorry mate otherwise you know I would have grabbed for you.

Interesting thing, I arrived just when the new Lenticular box was being put out and it only had 12 cars. I asked the lady if that was all and she showed me the box, only 12 vehicles.

I also got 2 T-hunts for my son Jake as the lady put out the Hot Wheels straight after the Lenticulars. So not a bad day. Jake now has 28 T-Hunts all collected since start of this year and off the pegs.

Maybe our grandkids will be lucky enough to see witness Mattel International actually do something right (Jakes 6 so I have hope)

Are they really going to get rubber tire andretti. My chase one has normal tires.

Also in australia, britian, most of the UK and Canada tyres is the correct spelling. Colour is also the correct spelling there. In usa we use tires and color.

  • Jeaks says:

I know not Cars related but it is Australian related so sort of link there.

Photo of my six year Jake on the Perth Glory website. Perth Glory is our professional soccer team of which Jake and I are both members and go to every game. Someone took his photo a few weeks ago and lo behold I have a look at website today and there’s his mug advertising this weeks game

This is just the link to the story, he is also on the front main page.

I just wanted to share is all.

  • I saw the KMart June collection at the Warehouse in New Zealand back in July.
In NZ Cars are $11.99NZ or about $8.00 US for singles.
I guess US has got it better.

    Hey Dude-Met-Dude…

just shot a look-see at the zazzle site…

    1. Is that where you guys had yours made – They are awesome quality so I would really like to know…

    2. They gave me a great idea – BUMPER STICKERS!!!

We could do a design contest or have the Take5aday logo on it or something… That would be SWEET!!!

  • Daniel says:

    Lit Torquey. Hahaha!

  • Joe Arrow says:

The last series of Kmart only cars have been released here in New Zealand, for about 3 months. They are stocked at a chain of stores called The Warehouse. The whole series is still quite easy to find. We also have had all the Rescues Sqd series for quite some time too. Google Trade Me, its a local version of ebay. You may find some real bargains.

    • Jeaks says:

we have The Warehouse in Australia too. HTB please note for future scouting missions

      • Joe Arrow says:

Oh I thought the Warehouse went under in Oz. Well I find most of my best scores there. K mart has its moments. They are still stocking WOC, yellow Remone anyone? Farmers is also good they are usually very up to date. Although i am fueding with the man that stocks the shelves as he reserves cars for his preferred customers. What a jerk. I’m there doing the hard yards while some Dude sits at home waitng for a phone call. my other theory is he buys them himself. I have never found a Treasure hunt hotwheels in his store. Man he makes me mad!!!

        • Jeaks says:

You are corerct Joe in that Warehouse went into Administration (to see if they can trade out of financial problems) and are still there as did the other stores in the stable like Crazy Clarks and GoLo. There is only one Warehouse left in mine and HTB’s home state. But nice to get a heads up coz I have never thought to look there.

I agree it sucks that the bloke does that. I do manage to get T-hunts (my 6 year old likes collecting them) from Crazy Clarks in one area but at the one near my work the bloke there opens the box and takes them out before they get to the floor.

My six year old worked out that the bloke at one Kmart was hiding the T-hunts under the aisle. Either for his mates to get or coming back later to collect himself. Because at Kmart/Target/Coles and other stores employees are not allowed to hold stock for themselves and getting caught with store goods whilst working is sackable. The bloke has a new hiding sopt now but my six year always checks under aisle.

    • Jeaks says:

PS Good result in the cricket last night hey Joe. (and no use going about Allblacks and Wallabies, we play AFL in WA not rugby)

      • sunhuntin says:

im hoping that the kday3 [usa] cars will make it over here as well. i darn near died when i saw the pegs full of racers. just lucky i got someone to get a box down from up the top, other wise i would have missed torquey. plus, i got to keep the box too!

as for the rescue squad, the only i cant find from that line is the pitty 2 pack. am hoping to find them in the next town over tomorrow.

        • Joe Arrow says:

The day I found my first racer I dreamt about going to the Warehouse. I had been out of town for a week and was suffering withdrawls. So we stopped at the Hamilton Warehouse on the way home, I was actually looking for a shake and go King, but found 3 Racers instead. My reaction was the same as yours. My wife just rolled her eyes. She actually told me the other day she doesn’t really care for cars. My son and I were shocked!
Still can’t find a shake and go King!

      • Hostile Takeover Banker says:

cricket was awesome but can we keep that form up in Test match appearances? maybe if Russia gets a National cricket team. and no, I’m not joking they really are.

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us ‘0 which is not a hashcash value.

Well, our Australian Ebay seller has gotten his hands on the Mater Saves Christmas CARS!

  • Jeaks says:

Yes the price of $9.99 is real. It is aussie dollars which equals around US$8 .

Now the best part is that all the Cars have been out for about 3 weeks and at all stores not just ones named. For example there is only one store in my state where Cars day (s) will be held – Joondalup. But found collector Cars at two other Targets.

Met is right good luck on the Cars lasting the week. Chances are the Cars are already gone and the day has not even commenced yet.

But hey it is nice to be loved (a little) by Mattel for once. But hey I still think Mattel International are as useful as a condom vending machine in a nunnery.

I also found on saturday at Target the Spiral Track Set for $20 (aussie) as it was a discontinued line. It was the last one so I wonder if they will get more in now they have it special for $44.99

PS didn’t we do the whole Tyres/Tires thing before when I used Tyres in a post. Frankly I am tired of it and we shoudl retire from discussing (geez I crack myself up)

(MET; okay – done. Next person who brings up the tires thing, I will invoke admin privileges and change your user name to ‘NunnerySheathMachine’ πŸ™‚ … It’s good to be the admin πŸ™‚ … unless I bring it up).

  • rpag says:

WOW! $9.99 per car? is that for real? if so, OUCH!

  • cars-in-your-eyes says:

‘Tyres’ is spelt with a ‘y’ in some countries and in others it is spelt with an ‘i’. The important thing is both are correct, depending on where you live, so let’s not start mocking countries for their spelling. Let’s rather be happy that this is a global hobby and blog site.

(MET: No, the only mocking is that if it’s not spelled the way it’s spelled in the US, we mock … so I was mocking the mockers plus the whole πŸ™‚ thing πŸ™‚ ).

    • Murpheeie says:

I just hope there are no characters in Cars 2 with “colour, humour or honour” in their names or we will be here all night. And while we are at it don’t Aussies use miles not Km?

PS. Mock away Met we may have the spelling down but we certainly don’t have the cars!

    • AlbertHinkey says:

We are familiar with this. Our neighbors in the great white north spell the word “about” with another “o” instead of a “u”. It comes out as “Aboot”. Yet we don’t mock them.
      πŸ™‚

(MET: Well, we don’t as long as they are not holding a hockey stick …).

    • AlbertHinkey says:

I don’t think anyone meant to mock the “y” as a spelling difference. I thought it was a typo as it was included with other spelling errors like LIT Tourquey, and Easy IDEL. I really didn’t know other english speaking countries spelled Tires with a “Y”.

      • Murpheeie says:

Everytime I see your avatar I wish they would make the RV’s. How cool would that be? And I was just joking dude, it must be Retread he makes me sound mean.

        (MET: Rv’s scheduled for 2010).

        • AlbertHinkey says:

I have heard that they are going to make him! Not sure how true that is. Maybe Met can fill us in?

Didn’t know about the Tyres thing! Funny! What a “tipical” “ygnorant” American I am
          πŸ™‚

  • Murpheeie says:

Don’t get us started on the tyres (correct) v tires (incorrect) thing. We had them first so we should know how to spell the word! lol

  • Seanus says:

Tyres are spelt with a ‘y’ over here, kinda like how a ‘u’ is added to colour and humour. πŸ™‚

  • Rippers says:

Tyres are spelt with a Y in the UK maybe itst he same for Australia?

  • PirateDad says:

Ummm errrr is Mario, Darrell gonna have Rubber tires, um tyres, or is Darrel, um Mario gonna have Italian Packaging…who had red rims and where’s Waldo??

  • AlbertHinkey says:

Hilarious! Maybe there was a math error when converting to kilometers for the “NASCAR 600”

But you Aussies can’t blame the metric conversion on spelling Tires with a “Y”
    πŸ™‚

Holy cow! Somebody call the marketing department at Target Australia and get them spell check!
    πŸ™‚

  • 5oclockshadow says:

Darrell looks a lot like Mario to me…

downloadable poster is a pretty nice touch ….

  • 5oclockshadow says:

so when do the Desert series come out again?
