Disney Pixar CARS: Light Up Tuners? Disney Store – FIRST!

Once again, the Disney Store delivers a long sought after item …
An idea as old as time … well, 2007 🙂
This new Disney Store item features all 4 tuners that “glow-light up” when activated in their appropriate colors.
Most Disney Stores seem to have plenty and it will probably be available online in a week or so following the general pattern of the Disney Stores.
They just seem to be called: World of CARS: Die Cast CARS with Neon Lights

I will head out to my Disney Store tonight to check them out but they do say metal diecast so while the bottoms are clearly colored plastic, the top shell like the other Disney 1:43 scale CARS are mostly metal.
Though yes, diecast once meant absolute yes – metal – but now, it generally means injection mold cars which sadly yes, sometimes just means plastic but since the description says metal and they do look like the other 1:43 Disney Store scale CARS, I’m inclined to believe they are metal shells but hopefully, confirmation will come tonight.
And for those who were wondering about the eBay auction – yea, well, hey – yea – this might be shocker that you can’t trust every eBayer seller to be honest 🙂 … so $29 + tax out the door for both.

I did make a trip to Indianapolis today to visit The Disney Store… I picked up 2 sets of the light up Tunerz… one for me, and one for a friend in the UK.
We’re headin’ for the Disney Store and Costco in a little bit……I called ahead and they do have the Tuners Light Up sets……how cool is that? Now, if Costco would just have the CARS set we were hoping to see.
I need Obama to bail me out so I can afford the avalanche of Cars diecast!

And I thought I was going to be able to go an entire weekend this weekend without going anywhere to look for Cars… I sense a trip to Indianapolis to the Disney Store… more to add to my collection.
Can someone please send pics taken in the dark?!?!?!?Also – I still think they should do a tribute to Elvis by addin’ some tiny lights to that awesome frame of his… What a caper that would be!!!
And add a little audio system to play some of his hits!

Customizers:
Theres an item in hobby shops called “Flylights” several colors available too.
I know a few batmobile detailers and 1-18th scale diecast customizers – upgraders use these.
Sweet!!!!!!!!!! these will be a must have.
Yeah I have to get my hands on these guys. I don’t know I had avoided the Disney store like the plague and now they are pulling me back in with all these great releases.
Wasn’t this one of your suggestions Met? I hope Mattel does a version of this with all four Tuners in one set.

While you’re at the mall checking out the Cars at the Disney store, you may want to drop by the Hallmark shop. At least the Tacoma Mall (Pierce County, WA) Hallmark shop has put out already the Cars ornament for Christmas. The Hallmark October premium is scheduled for October 11th, but, mine has all the October ornaments for sale. Met had a posting of the Hallmark ornament before, but, the ornament can be viewed at Hallmark.com.
Are these 1:43 scale or 1:55 like the eBay auction says? I am assuming they are closer to 1:43, but can’t tell from the photos. VERY COOL!

Keep your eye on the Disney Store website. It will probably end up there in the near future. Currently, the Disney Store has introduced a twenty car set for $99.50. I can’t tell whether it is the 1:43 die cast, but, it should be based on the description. I would think these are not part of the set, but, are sure to follow on the website.
That looks great! Just what I need because all of the sudden I want the Disney diecasts too, after seeing sidewall shine. This would be the cheaper option to getting them all, at once, in a cool display!

The cost ends up the same as buying the 20 cars using their 2 for $10.00 everyday pricing if you buy them individually.
Yes they are 1:43. Same size as the other Disney Store Cars.
