Not exactly about the singles but…I was at TRU yesterday at 130pm and found an entire case of the Mater Tall Tales 4 packs and about 3-4 cases of the megasized. I told the manager who was helping me I was shocked to see them this late in the day and he said they have had them in but there was a hold date on them. So yesterday was the day and they put them out-lucky me!

  • Dunroamin says:

Is the RS Trooper the same as Axel Accelerator…Anyone?

(MET: Same basic CAR but different rims and different tampo decals. Haven’t seen it upclose to say if eyes and expressions are same or different).

  • The Pit Stop says:

I need to get a hold of another set of these singlebacks, so I can busts my other set out for display!

  • MiaSenorita says:

Very interesting.. I was hoping to cut Walmart out of my Cars shopping list since they are so random at stocking items. We get about every other new release there. The other new releases never come….. Thank goodness there is a trade board!

  • collectormom says:

Great, the WM by me is a dump. They’re remodeling the entire store and could care less where and when anything gets stocked.

  • 5oclockshadow says:

well if they cleared out a warehouse, there should be plenty of them on the pegs…..

  • VolunteerMcqueen says:

the toons I got were the same price as the mega size , so just maybe they will put them on those pegs, and Target has zoomed thier prices…..nice
I think its bed time.no wait , one more trip to wally world

  • ethanstoychest says:

I saw these in Canada of all places…but $5.99 plus tax I left some of them on the shelf. This was the first new thig I have seen here sice the tankcoat laucher.

  • AScreaminWhat says:

    Damn you big monkey!!!

  • iamspeed says:

Having spoken to our WM toy mgr on more than a few occasions, it’s clear that they don’t plan to see too many, IF ANY, end cap setups, after their resets are complete.

The Mattel end cap sets ended up being put on the pegs in the CARS location, so if that’s any indication, the same thing will probably happen with the RSM items as well.

Basically, I keep hearing “Don’t expect to see end cap displays like that in WM stores that have been through the current reset. End caps that might have been used for such displays have been pretty much eliminated.”

  • iamspeed says:

The black & white print reminds me of “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”! Where is Captain Nemo when you need him?

At least he might share the booty from the ship after he rams it and rips it open, unlike the WM Gorilla!!!

  • jestrjef says:

Seems odd that Walmart would do that. They just DI a reset and there is NOTHING that resembles TOONS on any part ofthe plan-o-grams in my stores.

Are they just going to LUMP them in with the other singles and megasized??

    (MET: Allegedly – endcap).

  • VolunteerMcqueen says:

I beat the local e-bayerrrrrr to the walmart last night and right in fromt of him got all 6 toon, 2 helicopter, 2 amb, and 2 rescue squad maters, hahaha.. he then went and started unloading a pallet of boxes , opened the lenticular boxes and of course took all the chase pieces,,,,,,,boo haaa.bummmmm

    • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

hey thats great!!! now if we could all beat them ALL the time we would be set!!! good for you!!!

    • NO Lenticulars says:

Congrats VolunteerMcqueen! I love it when a plan comes together, or one’s perseverance pays off, or you beat the local e-bayer by running in through the garden section!

Not that I’ve done that or anything, just sayin’.

I truly thought I was going nuts a few weeks ago, then I spoke to both TRU and Target employees that not only confirmed my worst fears but turned them into a nightmare. They told me that 2-4 guys are at my local stores on a daily basis when they open in the morning.

It’s hard to compete with that. Except, at Walmart. Open 24hrs baby!

I’ve been away from wally world since shifty eyes showed up, but with the Toons enroute, GAME ON!

Hey Mr. e-bay, when you want to be there? How ’bout now?, maybe now?, maybe now, now, now!

  • iamspeed says:

What does this mean for the TRU stores that have already had RSM Mater, Ambulance, and Chopper?

Our nearest TRU had a fresh case of those 3 on Tuesday.

Is this the end of the run for other retailers?

(MET: WM just grabbed the first batch of singles in the warehouse).

    • iamspeed says:

Is there a realistic time frame in which we might start to see these in WM stores?

Probably no sense in camping out in the toy dept yet?

      • John in Missouri says:

Camping out? How about moving there permanently??? I wonder if the Post Office would accept a change of address card from me to my local Wal-Mart’s toy department? 🙂

        • iamspeed says:

Set up house in one of those outdoor play houses, get a mailbox from hardware……man, talk about one stop shopping!

          • John in Missouri says:

Growing up near Chicago in the 70’s, there was a builder’s store where they had most of a house constructed within the store. While my parents shopped for stuff, my sister and I literally played house. It was so much fun, but we were always mad when we would find other kids in OUR house.

  • John in Missouri says:

They wouldn’t dare hold these all the way until Black Friday, would they? WOULD THEY?!?!?

  • chuki_mama says:

Wasn’t there a story about pirates hijacking ships? Maybe we’ll find empty ‘Matty’ boats washed ashore on the Canadian coastline… 😉

  • chuki_mama says:

For once, it would be nice to see these when the rest of the country sees product and not 1-2, maybe even 3 months later. Being patient is frustrating!!

    • Steve AKA: Poppa says:

I saw these at the Pacific Run antique mall in Tacoma, WA last week. Nice packaging, however, for the AFA 10.0 collector, the J hook is extremely thin stock cardboard. It is not reinforced with plastic, etc. It will be hard to find a Mint-Mint example once little hands yank on them.

Wal-Masrt in Aberdeen WA stocked several cases of lenticulars, but, the chase Cars were gone. I did find A Chase #102, Dinoco Lightning McQueen in the toy aisle of a small shop at Ocean Shores for $4.99.

  • LiamsMom says:

If the Wal-mart ape ate them all, why hasn’t he regurgitated them onto the shelves yet? I haven’t seen any Rescue Squads anywhere.

(MET: I see you’re applying that ‘logic’ thing again …).

  • L8rM8r says:

It is weird I saw these for a brief moment at TRU and then the were gone as well as the pegs for them. I asked and they said they were doing the reset, but had no knowledge of the stock that they had a week before.

  • Aaron & Jeanne Scriven says:

    i want these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
