… Again, the whole Hauler distribution plan is its own weird universe.
To save money, Mattel offers them as Direct Import which the large retailers won’t do because they have to arrange and pay for their own shipping so the large retailers just wait until it shows up at Mattel’s warehouse – hence the long time gap.
Timeline Choices:

Mattel Warehouse to Everyone
The wildcard is of course, Mattel can decide to create an entirely new case assortment for a retailer as they did a few months ago with the Wally hauler. Basically – you have to pay for shipping … unless your name is WM, Target or TRU – then all bets are off.
CASE G is scheduled to arrive at the middle of September for Direct Import Air Freight resellers – though with we might see it as part of the retailer reset? Remember, there are rules and then there are rules for WM, Target & TRU.
NO CASE I
Vinyl Toupee is scheduled for early 2010 but might make it in time to celebrate 2009 …
There are essentially only 5 months left in the year and lots of cases still 7 cases left to go so we might lose a case or have a consolidated case near Christmas but you should pretty much expect all these before 2009 is truly over. Plus it’s almost certain that the Wally hauler will return at Christmas time so the Haulers scheduled for the last part of the year might be consolidated or make an appearance with the return of the Wally Hauler in mid November …
And don’t forget that Team Haulers will have add Team Leak Less in the next few weeks or months, who’s after that?
Well, it looks like the Hauler Display case for 2009 will be full by then 🙂

Funny – I had a dream two nights ago about CARS, too.
I dreamt we had a Take5 Convention and everyone was there! The only people whose faces I could actually see were PD’s, Nascarbroncosfan, Jazzyjef’s, Jake’s, L8RM8R’s and Monica’s. I have no idea why.
On the way home I found the FIRST Tach-o-mint launchers and was psyched that I would be able to trade with them on this forum.

It must be Take 5 Dream Week. I dreamed the other day that I found the WM End Cap and every single car was a Chase. So I went to WM last night just in case and no end cap.
They did have 3 cases of Showgirls 3-Packs and 2 hauler cases with Trunk Fresh. In one hauler case every package was severely crushed.
Still no new singles since the grand opening. Maybe John in Missouri was right – 🙁

Our Wal-Mart actually did get some new stuff – Case A & B of Lenticulars. They only had 3 “regular” singles left when they put them on $2.00 clearance the other day.
Our nearest WM had $2.00 clearance prices on the old CARS……..guess what they had?
8 Petrol Pulaskis!!!
They used to have MANY more Petrols, and that meant that they never got a re-stock of CARS because their pegs were FULL of Pulaskis! Plus, a toy mgr that really just doesn’t care.

I had to get my Wally off eBay. The first time, I bid for two and lost $60 as it was a scam. Got a better result for one the second time around…
I had about 8 extra Wally Haulers, took them back when there wasn’t much interest on the Trading Forum a few months ago!

I kindof hope they don’t make Wally hauler again. That would kill the collectibility of him. The appeal was that he was supposedly limited. Otherwise, he is pretty boring. I’d rather see a limited Kmart hauler at the next collector’s day. But $ is $…
I wish they would do a “retro” Wally Hauler, similar to the Wal-Mart commercial with Mater and a Wal-Mart truck from 3 years ago.

Wow, bring on the haulers! Obviously Vinyl Toupee is the most exciting ever with all those graphics and details.
Speaking of details – did you all notice Martin’s special touch on the Piston Cups in the Chase cars?? I noticed tonight they say – “Lightning McQueen Champion” or “Chick Hicks Champion”. And mind you, this is in print only ants can read.. but Martin and his team thought of EVERYTHING! They could have easily just left them blank.. but then it wouldn’t be the best diecast line ever, would it!

Let me tell you, as nice a the photos are, it is nothing compared to seeing them in person. And the Vinyl Toupee Hauler was accompanied by a Vinyl Toupee Launcher (the original style).

Right, but was the Vinyl Toupee or Tach-O-Mint launcher confirmed or were they prototypes that now will never go into production? I have to believe that there is some plan for Sidewall Shine. Why in the h-e-double hockey sticks WOOD (sorry PD)they put out a hauler for such an “obscure” car? Even Octane Gain was a weird choice for hauler, but he did have a run as a launcher and as part of the Dinoco 400 set (with VT). A Lil Torquey or Bumper Save hauler WOOD (there I go again) have made more sense. I’m not complaining, I just think there may be a surprise coming our way…??? Or maybe KNOT (okay, I’m done). I hiope we get pitty’s for all of these new haulers. Don’t really care about the crew chiefs, but the pitty’s are cool additions if you are going to have a car and hauler.

We should all chip in and send a Vinyl Toupee to Ron Popeil! You have to go back in time and remember his infomercials for “hair spray” for male pattern baldness that was basically spray paint for your head.
I think these are so neat & for some reason I actually have better luck finding them than anything else. Frank and Sven must be a myth b/c I have yet to find them. I thought for sure that WM shelves would be clogged with the WM Hauler but those were really hard to find.

For some reason, it’s even more aggravating waiting for the haulers to slowly show up when you’re only looking for one of each! It gets too expensive to do my usual “one to open, one to keep” with haulers.
