For any UK buyers – ASDA have the Mini Adventures at £2 a set at the moment.
    :- )

  • I-LUV-RACE-CARS says:

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! THEY MADE A MINI WINFORD!!!!!!!!!! I WANT HIM SOOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tricia says:

Does anyone know if the DisneyResort exclusive minis with playmat are still for sale. I’m trying to decide if it is worth it to stop at Downtown Disney when I am in the area next week.

  • miatiafan says:

Indykjt what hobby store? I live in Indy also. My son would LOVE to have these minis 🙂

  • LiamsMom says:

I really like the expression Shiny Wax has on his face.

  • NicoleH says:

I will buy them if I can find them. The last new mini we got was Mini Chick Hauler. Haven’t seen any new mini’s since then!

  • Luciano24 says:

I am so lucky i have resisted this line. I don’t know why but I have. But on the other hand maybe I should be collecting these instead of the “Googly Eyes”.

  • jedijson says:

We haven’t seen any new minis in I don’t know how long around here. Not at Target, TRU has become a running joke, Wal-mart is pathetic… The list goes on.

Here’s hoping we get something new sometime soon. And when I say “something,” I’m talking even in Diecast! Target hasn’t had a new item in several months, and only two Wal-marts have gotten in the lenticulars. All the others are still completely stocked with the old stuff.

  • alexl100 says:

i love the minis-but i live in england and so i can only get them off ebay at like £10-13, so its a rip off.still collect them though. please do an ultimate visual checklist update met.pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaase?

(MET: Yea, look for a magazine version coming this Fall … still photographing everything 🙂 ).

    • MiaSenorita says:

I am think I am more die hard on the minis than the 1:55, only because they are easier to collect – no varients, much less in number 🙂 So I will be very excited to see the next magazine!

Now I am going to duck from all the tomatoes and rocks that are going to be thrown at me by the “canon” and “1:55 or die” crews 😀

      • alex says:

im the same as you-i started with the 1:55s and still have most of the first 2 series but i just love the minis, theyre so much cooler and cuter.
+yay-new minis mag, cant wait 😀

  • TJH-AZ says:

I have to agree with Captain Chunk.
Haven’t seen anything new Mini related in awhile. Certainly NOT No Stall & Tank Coat, still waiting to see these two. So as far as Shiny Wax & RPM goes, we probably wont see them until 2010.
I still think this line has a place but I believe there are problems. First: The price. Targets around here sell them for $5.99. A penny more than if you buy two 1:55 mainlines. And, you HAVE to buy two.
Second: Plastic vs. metal. Same price for each car doesn’t seem the mini’s have the same value, perceived or not. At least not in the feel of the toy or the detail.
Third: Detail. For the same price you’re getting much less detail in the mini’s. Molded plastic car with stickers vs. diecast with painted detail.
Fourth: What’s canon? Discussed many times on this site. I for one, love all the different mini’s that have nothing to do with the movie. But I think I’m in the minority.
I think the mini’s should go exclusive to WalMart. They’re not going to sell well at Target against the mainline at the same price each, but they might do better against the lenticulars that are $2 more for 2. Two lenticulars for $8, or a set of mini’s for $6 (as long as WM matches the current Target price)? This might help them sell better.

    • MiaSenorita says:

I agree whole heartedly with you TJH-AZ… and that is why I resisted so long to buying them. Then Trev came out, and I had to have them all. I am glad I starting collecting them because we absolutely love them! And they dont’ take up near as much space 😉

But I agree that the price is off. It should be $5 for a two pack. And I am also with you on loving the “non-canon” ones. Why not? They are fun and funky!

As Indy said, a mini SOTS would be totally Amazing!! Why can’t we just get Matty up so they could offer it there! I would do whatever I had to if I could just buy one of those. Can you imagine a mini Apple car??? or Tach-o-Mint? Killing me!

We love the minis, and they are fun to play with and can be used more roughly without the fear of paint chips, etc! Great product!!

  • CaptainChunk says:

We’d buy them, if the could find them. No one in this area is stocking new Minis anymore, haven’t seen anything newer than LeakLess & Nitroade since February.

  • Jack says:

Don’t know why but I’ve always liked the Juice as in
Transberry, maybe it’s the color. John’s answer is he
likes them all but besides obviously Lightning and Mater
He loves the sots racers. I think Todd is pretty high on my
list also. Tj Hummer and Leroy Roy Traffic too. As for the
Mega size I think Richard Kennsington Clayton may soon
supplant Sven the governator as our favorite. I preordered
him. Anyone have a date on that mega case yet?

    Jack(John’s Dad)

  • pwschuh says:

    Still not buying any Mini’s.

  • acuransx says:

    L&G’s,

Pitched this concept before for a Matty purchse but you know where that went. 🙁

Mini’s did well, best extension of any toy line @ Mattel but expectations have to be managed I guess………

    • cac1959 says:

We appreciate your efforts… If Mattel wants to leave a lot of money on the table by not producing a Mini Speedway of the South set, that’s entirely up to them. I originally said I would buy no minis… I now have about 30 of them, and plan on buying the mini racers and the mini haulers.

The non-lenticular 1:55 diecast line is my favorite, with the haulers being a close second. I like the non-Semi Mega Size items. Now if the case assortments of the 3 packs and singles would be at the level of the H and K Mega Size cases, that would be awesome.

  • PirateDad says:

Hello Everyone, it is amazing to see the evolution of Take5, names and faces come and go but Take5 remains!

It has been a while since we discussed this, and TONS of cars have been released in the meantime, so it seems like a good time to do it again!

What is your Favorite car and your Least favorite car?
and of course you may add why and why not in there too!

    • PirateDad says:

My Favorite Diecast release so far is really hard to pin down, but I think I am gonna go with Todd the Pizza Planet Truck…i love his details and I also love his appearance in EVERY Pixar film, sort of like looking for yourself in old family movies!!

My least favorite car is still Sharpie MQ… that pathetic attempt at Tar still really irks me!! A close second though is Chuck Manifold…. sort of a watch what you wish for situation, we wanted ALL the cars made, but some of the cars are just boring1

      • Blake from MN says:

I think my fav car is polly puddle jumper, I know she’s not out yet but she is so cute I could puke!

I think my least fave is Axel (the cop) he is just boring looking.

    • jmularczyk says:

for me it has to be Frank, we waited a long time for him and the detail is super sweet. I’ll have to side with PirateDad on Tar McQueen with a very close second going to bug mouth McQueen. I mean what the heck is that!!

  • Aaron and Jeanne from Joplin Missouri says:

We will buy these .. We will buy these LoL we love the mini racers and mini haulers!! Not so much the rest of them right Now lol but we did buy the others hahha

  • Patrick says:

Met, your cars need dusting. Expecially the Mini’s!

  • Jack says:

They are cute, but no minis for me. Nope not gonna do it.
All the regular size yes, all the haulers yes. Most of the
mega size yes(not the cabs though John doesn’t want half
a hauler) and all the new Car Toons stuff coming out yes
but the minis no. I’m drawing the the line there.
Do have a question today that was touched upon the other
day. In the opening scene in the movie Lightning mentions
42 losers and himself. I was wondering why there are only
36 sots cars. Does anyone know how many cars are actually
in the opening race? Were there any racers shown in the
movie but never released? Just curious about the 7
    cars disparity. Thanks Jack(Johns’ Dad)

  • collectormom says:

I haven’t found Mini’s for months now; still trying to find the Mini Dinoco hauler, No Stall/Tank Coat and now these.

  • Indykjt says:

I found these at a local hobby store… was VERY suprised to see them! Also, Tank Coat/No Stall minis are starting to show up more at Indy area Wal-Marts.

Love these mini racers, and haulers too! A mini SOS would ROCK!!!
