Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Collectors First Checklist Check List

If you thought your election ballot was complicated, this Checklist was exhausting to compile but here for those who are building a collection of “first” appearance of a particular CAR, here you go … it’s massive but it’s down to two pages.

I sure this list will provoke some ecumenical arguments, discussions and name-calling of the 11th century variety (you sir, are a cad and a shadow pope!), keep in mind this list is NOT for ultra completists, just complete set collectors or gasp – openers 🙂

There are some variants that are left off – I only listed variants of major significance – namely – Fred, Darrell Cartrip & Fabulous Hudson Hornet.

The outline highway sign indicates its first release on that card. If there is a second highway sign in that space, it indicates a second and significant ‘variant’ release. A black top highway indicates it was also released in another format at around the same time.

You can form study groups to discuss the first Movie Moment release CARS which were not available separately as singles – so do you count them as “first” appearance on a Movie Moment or later when they appeared as a single … or in the case of Flo, finally available as a single after 2+ years (though obviously available in many other formats)? In other words, how strict is your definition of a “singles” release?

In the case of the Movie Moments, I have listed them both ways as I did with most of the other ones such as No Stall available as a Movie Moment, Launcher, Gift 3-pack and in the Dinoco 400 Box Set.

The Motor Speedway of the South box set is not listed under the “exclusives.” section as you know what you have.

Any CARS not assigned a number as part of the general overall numbering scheme is on page 2 … at some point, I might start adding numbers to the haulers & oversized.

I went ahead and assigned #30 to Sarge.

BTW, presuming you started now and could avoid as many doubling up as possible, you’d have just about 150 CARS by the end of 2008 (not including the MSOS set). I did include everything I presumed would be out by the end of 2008 so there are some CARS you do not have yet. Don’t be mad, I don’t have them either 🙂

If I forgot anything – arghhhhhh!

Enjoy and I know someone who has been collecting for 2 years will realize they forgot to buy Doc Hudson 🙂 … or like in Toy Story, it’s resting in the cactus plant.

These are two JPEG files – just drag them and print.

I will work on other charts so don’t panic if you area ultra completist or a mega completist … yours is a-coming …

For those just starting, don’t forget to check out our RECAP PAGE for many topics.

And of course, coming in a few weeks, the NIGHT SCOPE McQUEEN with the 2009 booklet so you can visually see what to collect …

Anyone out there have a checklist like this that is up to date? Being away for soooo long, I really feel like I am missing more than I realize! lol 🙂

(MET: You can combine that checklist with this one for singles, & lenticulars only … yes, will eventually update chart).
