iPhone: A Virtual Sellout Across U.S., eBayers & Paypal Rejoice

Thanks to reader STEVE for the update, only Tigard Oregon, Bridgeport Village
& Pittsburgh PA, Shadyside Mall (?) is reporting iPhones in stock.

For UPS & FedEx, July 4th is a “Ground” holiday so presumably no shipments arrived today at the Apple store. The Apple stores won’t report in again to the online page until tomorrow night at 9 PM PDT so maybe it might pay to ask the genius if more is arriving tomorrow – actual delivery times will vary.

Reports seem to be that most AT&T stores are long out of stock so it’s unlikely but you can check.

eBay auctions seem to be ending at around $680 to $700 for the 8GB (anything listed for more than that as a BUY IT NOW listing or starting price above that seems to end with no bids). So, if you don’t mind paying a $100 dollar premium to be assured of getting it soon -versus hoping more stock arrives by this weekend or …

As noted, you can still buy online and from the 1-800-MY-APPLE number. Ship times are reported at 2-4 weeks, Apple generally likes to pad that so they look good when they ship much faster but first day orders have shipped or will be shipping this week but it’s hard to gauge what ship dates will be really be if you order today.
