I never ever got a mint card from amazon and it’s frustrating because they have in stock items that I really want!!

Where are these besides overpriced Amazon? Anyone find this 2 pack in a retail store?

    • John says:

They might be found at Walmart and Target if the pegs at those stores weren’t clogged with unsold Brent Mustangburger/David Hobbscapp and Chief RPM/Petrol Pulaski pitty 2-packs.

I paid $7.99 each at Amazon for the Dan Sclarkenberg/Kim Carllins and Artie/Brian Fee Clamp 2-packs. That’s $4.00 per car, the same price that most Targets around us charge. (most are charging $3.99/car, some charge $3.49)

With Amazon we get the Car we want, with the big box stores we rarely find anything new, most trips are a bust.

According to AAA the average car trip runs about .50¢ per mile. Assuming our closest Target has the Car we want (it is 3 miles away), a trip to Target for one Car is $3.00 making that one Car’s cost $7.00. 15 miles to our closest Walmart, ($3.49+$7.50) one Car costs $11.00. Of course if we buy other items that trip the cost goes down.
To be fair, we pay an annual fee to Amazon for shipping, similar to what we pay for our annual CostCo membership. I estimate our Amazon shipping cost to run about .75¢ per package over the year.

The problem with Amazon isn’t the price, if anything it’s the packaging. They don’t treat the Cars as collector’s items and often as not the cardbacks arrive bent, the blisters crushed.

We open our Cars and I always feel badly when we tear into a perfect package knowing that another collector might have gotten an imperfect card.

I saw 2 sets each of Dan & Kim and Artie & Brian at a Walmart early this a.m. for $7.46. Artie & Brian are on an international card.
