Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Doug RM Party RV

Thanks “Mack Me Bucko” for the nice early look at Doug RM.

dougie

While Doug looks a little like the Convoy Brothers K or N – he’s a new sculpt!

Nice!

Great details!

doug back

As with the Convoy Brothers, solid diecast. Though I’m guessing his face and front bumper is plastic but that’s a pretty small portion.

We’ll be doing the Dougie when Doug arrives.

yet another car I will never see in the wild.
Its getting so hard to remain a collector when there is nothing to collect.

As I keep saying, Mattel is very likely selling direct from China — it cuts out all the middlemen in one swoop. There is no way these “back door” vendors are selling the quantities they are without Mattel knowing and giving them the silent nod.

The rare Apple car, red John Lassetire, the five Max Schnell repaints that were supposedly Super Chase — all are readily available in quantity.

      • BMW says:

for the record, Those Apples you mention, the Schnell Super Chases, John Lassetire are all counterfeits plain and simple. They are not made by Mattel.

Buy what you like, but don’t claim that Mattel made them. They are cheap knockoffs. Any collector that own the real deal sees these for what they are. If you want to spend your money and feed the “poor” Chinese knockoff market that’s your business and I could care less.

why is my comment still waiting moderation?

In recent months I picked up a backdoor red Lassetire and an Apple Car,
The Lassetire looks ok, but the surf board where it meets the bed of
the truck has a bend to it. The surfboard looks like the main flaw in
that one. I compared the pics of the official one off Takefiveaday and
it sure looks dead on, besides the flawed surfboard. The Apple car,
the main problem with that one (besides the production date being wrong)
is the side rectangle full of sponsor logos, it’s very blurry, and the
dashed lines aren’t that nice. I didn’t spend a lot on either of them, and I fully expected them to be fake. They look ok on the shelf regardless. I never buy backdoor fakes, but seeing that these were reasonable I picked one up of each. I even took a Target RS Mcqueen I had an extra of, and threaded the red Lassetire to that box. It’s all fake
but it’s just to sit on my shelf and collect dust really. They still look pretty nice

So far they’re only available through the “back door” — but give them time and they’ll fill the pipeline.

    • Mack_me_Bucko says:

As far as I can tell, the only thing Doug is missing from the film version is another flag on his right rear corner. And yes, his mouthplate and bumpers are plastic, but the rest of his “face” is metal.

Same here, looking for 3 of these also if anyone discovers them

I would like 3 of them if anyone sees them up for sale.
